Amidst the white mist, Yue Jiu Nian saw many eerie green will-o'-the-wisps floating in mid-air. However, as the will-o'-the-wisps multiplied, many black shadows gradually appeared. At first, only one or two emerged from the ground, but slowly, their numbers increased.

The black shadow was enveloped in a dark cloud of black mist, which moved and churned as if it contained something alive.

"Shhh~"

Shortly after the black mist appeared, a bizarre scene unfolded in the silent forest. Someone suddenly dug into the ground beneath the mist, first pulling a highly decomposed corpse out of the earth with its own hands, and then a skeleton, reduced to mere bones, crawled out of the ground.

No one knew how many skeletons were buried in this land; one after another, they emerged from the earth, their numbers gradually increasing until the entire area beneath the white mist was filled with skeletons and ghosts.

Not far from Yue Jiu Nian, there stood a rotting corpse that had lost both arms, searching for its missing limbs.

"Where are my hands? Where are my hands? Has anyone seen my hands? Please help me find my hands, they're gone..."

The rotting corpse reeked of stench and was crawling with maggots. It turned its rotten head around, searching for its hands, as it headed toward Yue Jiu Nian.

Yue Jiu Nian watched it with disgust as it walked, dropping rotten flesh and maggots, and had no intention of helping it.

While the rotting corpse was searching for its arm, the other skeletons and ghosts were not idle either. Some of them were also looking for a missing part of their bodies, while others were heading in the direction Yue Jiu was pointing.

In their eyes, Yue Jiunian was like a delicious cake, and their eyes were filled with hunger as they looked at her.

A female ghost, dragging a tongue over a meter long and very long hair, walked over. Blood streamed from her eyes as she approached Yue Jiu Nian. Holding her hair in one hand and her tongue in the other, she asked in a low voice, "Buying hair? Hey, do you want to buy my hair? My hair is so long and beautiful, do you want to buy it?"

Yue Jiunian didn't even glance at her, directly refusing, "No, thank you."

Hearing Yue Jiu's words, the female ghost showed no intention of leaving. She turned her head to look at the approaching skeletons and ghosts behind her and said, "Just buy it. My hair is not only beautiful but also so long. You definitely won't regret buying it. Look how useful it is!"

The female ghost demonstrated with her hair, saying, "You can use it as a rope. It's very strong and won't break. You can also..." She paused, and her expression suddenly changed, from enthusiastic recommendation to a ferocious look: "You can also use it to hang yourself!"

As soon as the female ghost finished speaking, the hair in her hand and the tongue in the air immediately flew up and tried to wrap around Yue Jiu Nian's neck. However, as soon as she made this move, Yue Jiu Nian, who was already prepared, also made a move instantly!

Yue Jiunian grabbed her hair with one hand and that disgusting tongue with the other, yanking and throwing it forcefully: "Get lost!"

Seeing that the female ghost had made her move, the other onlookers, who were no longer just watching the show, all gathered around and lunged at Yue Jiu Nian with bared teeth and claws.

In their eyes, Yue Jiu Nian is a delicious meal disguised in human skin, but filled with spiritual energy. However, this is not a meal they can simply eat at will; they will likely have to pay a considerable price to obtain it.

Seeing the multitude of ghostly creatures rushing towards her, Yue Jiu Nian was filled with impatience. She made a hand seal, narrowed her eyes, and then snapped her fingers. The next moment, a large ball of purple flames instantly appeared around her!

The sudden appearance of the flames startled the ghosts and skeletons. This was no ordinary fire; it was the Netherfire of the underworld. Netherfire is generally unburnt, only effective against cold, ghostly beings, causing them immense harm.

This Netherfire was stolen by Yue Jiuling and her companions from the Underworld. They even fought with the underworld's ghost messengers to steal it, and only then did they manage to keep it for themselves. That's why Ox-Head and Horse-Face were afraid of Yue Jiuling before – they were terrified of her.

Upon seeing the Netherfire, the group of ghosts were terrified and tried to escape. Yue Jiunian didn't care whether they ran away or not, as long as they didn't bother her anymore.

The female ghost who was thrown out by Yue Jiunian by her hair and tongue has now run back. She seems to hate Yue Jiunian very much and, disregarding the harm that the Netherfire is causing her, she has rushed back with a fierce expression!

At this moment, the rotting corpse that had lost its hands earlier also came over. It walked towards Yue Jiu and muttered to itself, "My hands, have you seen my hands?"

Seeing that both of them were coming towards her, and considering that the amount of Netherfire she had stolen was a bit small and the time she could use it for was almost up, Yue Jiu Nian simply grabbed the female ghost's tongue and hair and made it wrap around the handless corpse. "Alright, you two have fun."

The female ghost's tongue and hair were wrapped around the corpse by Yue Jiu Nian, making it unable to move for a while. The corpse was also very dissatisfied with Yue Jiu Nian's actions. The two ghosts were thus entangled together. When they tried to separate, they found that Yue Jiu Nian had tied a knot that was impossible to break!

The rotting corpse shouted at Yue Jiu Nian, "Let me go! I need to find my hand! Let me go!"

The female ghost also cursed loudly, "Damn it, let us go! I'm going to kill you! I'm going to hang you with my hair!"
