As a fake half-demon, Yue Jiuling feels that living in the human realm is actually pretty good. However, this is only true if she can retrieve her original body and separated soul. There's no c...
Gao Yang has been back in his hometown for more than half a month. He asked for leave from school to go home because he was not feeling well and needed to rest.
Gao Yang's parents died early, and he lived with his uncle's family from a young age, and was raised by his uncle.
However, after he went to university, he could only go home during holidays. When Gao Yang suddenly came back this time, his uncle's family thought he had done something wrong and been expelled from school.
Gao Yang did indeed commit a crime and went home to hide, but it wasn't because he was expelled from school; rather, it was because he killed someone! He killed his girlfriend, Zhang Li.
But how could he possibly tell his family about something like this? When he got home, he just said that he hadn't been feeling well lately and needed to rest for a while.
Gao Yang's health wasn't very good before, and he had previously taken a break from school to recuperate at home for a period of time, so his family didn't have too many doubts and believed him.
"Honey, how long do you think Yang will stay this time? He doesn't do anything all day, it's so annoying to watch him like this."
Gao Yang's aunt complained to her husband while cooking in the kitchen.
Gao Yang's uncle, Gao Yuanzhi, said after hearing his wife's words, "If the child likes to come back, let him come back. How much food can he eat? My brother only has one child. What's wrong with him coming back to stay for a while?"
"Hmph, he didn't eat much, but I just can't stand him. If your older brother hadn't given us that money to help raise him, I would have definitely sent him to his grandma's. He's so annoying to look at."
"Stop making a fuss all the time. Why are you arguing with a child all the time? Stop causing trouble, I'm telling you."
Gao Yuanzhi knew that his wife didn't really like this nephew, but after all, he was his own brother's child, so he had to protect him a little.
"Brother, how do I do this problem? Please teach me quickly. If I don't finish my homework tonight, my mom will definitely scold me to death."
In the room, a boy of about ten years old was doing his homework at his desk. When he encountered a problem he couldn't solve, he asked a big boy next to him who was playing on his phone for help.
The one playing on his phone is Gao Yang, and the little boy is Gao Yuanzhi's youngest son, Gao Lin.
Gao Yuanzhi has two sons. His eldest son is sixteen years old and just started high school. He is currently living at a boarding school and not at home. His younger son is in the fifth grade of elementary school and lives at home.
"Brother, Yang-ge, I don't know how to do this problem."
Gao Yang was absentmindedly scrolling through his phone and didn't hear his younger cousin's words until Gao Lin called him again, at which point he came to his senses.
"Oh, this is the question, right? Let me teach you."
Gao Yang put away his phone, intending to explain the problem to Gao Lin, when his phone suddenly rang.
Looking at the unfamiliar number on his phone screen, Gao Yang hesitated for a moment before answering: "Hello."
"Hello, are you Gao Yang?"
The voice on the other end of the phone was male. Gao Yang didn't recognize the person and didn't know who was calling him, but he still admitted that he was Gao Yang.
"Yes, I am Gao Yang. And you are?"
"Oh, hello, this is the police station. We need your cooperation on a missing person case..."
Gao Yang was already prepared before receiving the call and hearing the news, because he had killed his girlfriend Zhang Li and faked her disappearance. So if Zhang Li was found to be missing, he, as her boyfriend, would definitely be contacted by the police.
However, having anticipated that the police would come knocking, Gao Yang was naturally prepared.
When the police told him that Zhang Li was missing, he immediately expressed his surprise: "What?! Lili is missing? How is that possible? When did she disappear?"
The police officer on the other end of the phone said, "Yes, she has been missing for almost half a month, and according to the investigation, you also left City C half a month ago. Is Zhang Li's disappearance related to you...?"
"What does her disappearance have to do with me? We broke up a long time ago. You need to investigate this thoroughly. She was perfectly fine when we broke up."
Gao Yang showed no nervousness when questioned by the police, as if Zhang Li's disappearance had nothing to do with him. He was prepared for everything. He had already hidden the body, and as long as it wasn't found, no one would know that Zhang Li was actually dead.
After listening, the police asked, "Oh, I see. So, are you at your old home right now?"
"Yes, I'm at home right now. Are you coming to find me? Lily's disappearance has nothing to do with me. You can't just arrest people randomly."
Gao Yang thought he was going to be taken in for questioning, so he readily admitted that he was at home, since he was sure he wouldn't be arrested anyway.
"Uh, no, we're investigating a missing persons case, not a murder case. We won't arrest people randomly, so don't worry."
Gao Yang, who was prepared to be taken away by the police for investigation, felt much more relaxed after hearing this. He said, "Then you should investigate Zhang Li's disappearance thoroughly and let me know when you have the results. That's all."
"Well, in that case, I won't bother you any longer. Goodbye."
The police officer who had just hung up the phone looked at his friend with a puzzled expression. He didn't understand why, even though they had found the body and had a suspect, his friend wouldn't let him make the arrest but instead made him make this phone call.
Furthermore, she called Gao Yang to inform him that the deceased Zhang Li was still missing, and confirmed Gao Yang's address over the phone.
