A down-and-out middle-aged man unexpectedly reincarnates back to 28 years ago. He encounters a shocking heist and activates the "Black Gold System".
"You all make as much as you c...
In the afternoon, Causeway Bay exudes the unique local atmosphere of Hong Kong Island.
It was past noon, and Yee Wo Street, lined with shops, was crowded with cars and pedestrians.
Neon signs, arranged in a staggered pattern, are reflected against the bustling street scene, giving a sense of the vibrant nightlife even in broad daylight.
The fourth floor of East Point Shopping Mall was bustling with people.
Nine men and women were seated in two booths connected by the window on the south side of the Gaddi restaurant.
Among these people were Western white faces and Eastern faces.
They leisurely savored their red wine and Western food, occasionally whispering amongst themselves...
"Smith, we haven't been able to contact Groups C and D for 40 minutes. Could something have happened?"
A tall, Asian man was speaking fluent English with a middle-aged white man next to him.
"Li, you're overthinking it. With the capabilities of those two groups, the chances of them being exposed are slim."
Smith picked up his glass of red wine and took a comfortable sip:
"In the East, especially in Hong Kong, are there any decent rivals? Aside from FAST (Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope), the others are all second-rate, haha..."
"That's right, that's right, I was just too nervous." As the head of Group B, Li Zhu could only fawn over Smith.
Because, even though they are both team leaders, there is an unwritten rule within the CIA:
White people will always be superior to people of color.
"Li, when it comes to intelligence warfare and espionage, you Easterners are all inferior."
"The Sky Eye organization is only legendary in its power; I've never actually fought them, but I imagine their skill level is nothing special..."
After saying that, Smith tilted his head back and drank the red wine in his glass in one gulp.
Li Zhu nodded silently in agreement, not daring to say anything more.
"Don't worry, Li, we are invincible on this land!"
Smith put down his wine glass and patted Li Zhu on the shoulder affectionately.
“I’m not worried about anything else, I’m just afraid of Lin Dong.” Li Zhu frowned slightly, almost imperceptibly.
"Lin Dong?"
"Yes, you've seen this person's top-secret file too. It's incredibly mysterious; we have to be careful..."
Upon hearing the name Lin Dong, Smith's expression turned slightly serious. After a moment's thought, he said:
"No matter how powerful he is, he's still made of flesh and blood. Does he really think he can fly?"
"Our mission in coming to Hong Kong this time is not to deal with him by force, but simply to place people around him in advance."
"As long as I don't directly clash with Lin Dong, what can he do to me? Humph!"
Li Zhu nodded slightly and remained silent.
But his intuition told him that his deep-seated unease was not unfounded.
According to the organization's regulations, even if the two groups need to gather together for an urgent task, they cannot be exposed to the public eye for an extended period of time.
Only someone as self-important as Smith would be so careless.
"Team Leader Smith, something's up!"
Suddenly, Leona, the intelligence analyst sitting at the far end by the window, rushed over.
"Speak, what's going on?" Smith frowned in displeasure and snapped.
"Just received news that a massive explosion occurred 12 minutes ago in Building D of Chungking Mansions, where Group D is located..."
"Oh? Which floor?"
"Latest information gathered and analyzed: the 17th floor's location should be room 1722, where Group D is hiding..."
"What?"
Smith was startled, his hand trembled so much that he almost spilled the red wine while pouring it.
"Team B must proceed to the scene immediately to confirm. I need accurate information within 45 minutes..."
"Understood!" Li Zhu stood up, waved his hand, and was about to lead his three men away.
At that moment, he didn't know why, but he felt a chill on his back, as if he were being locked in place by a strange force.
"Everyone, stop wasting your time. Your Group D members have all gone to meet God."
A clear, cold male voice echoed between the two booths.
The sound wasn't loud, but it was terrifying enough.
Who is it?
Smith was the first to react, turning to the side, standing up, and drawing his gun.
The remaining CIA team members also drew their guns, standing or crouching, using the tables and chairs as cover to occupy advantageous positions in various locations.
There was nothing in front of them, not even a ghost in sight.
The commotion quickly alerted the customers dining nearby, as well as the standing waiters.
Upon seeing that this group actually had guns, the unsuspecting people immediately panicked.
"ah!"
Someone started screaming, and then the crowd panicked and rushed towards the door...
"Who am I? Heh... Aren't you looking for me?"
The man's voice rang out again.
However, this time it changed direction and drifted behind a young white man sitting opposite Smith.
The young white man was startled. He moved his right hand, holding a black pistol, and was about to turn around and pull the trigger.
"Snap!"
With a crisp sound, the young white man's head lolled to the side, his neck snapped, and he died instantly.
"Bang! Bang! Bang..."
Several gunshots rang out, and Smith and Li Zhu, the two most agile, pulled the triggers almost simultaneously.
The whistling bullet flew several meters away and struck the back of the dark brown sofa.
"Puff puff puff..."
Six conspicuous bullet holes immediately appeared on the back of the sofa.
Where are they?
That's terrifying!
This ghostly enemy can even turn invisible?
