A down-and-out middle-aged man unexpectedly reincarnates back to 28 years ago. He encounters a shocking heist and activates the "Black Gold System".
"You all make as much as you c...
"Your Majesty, are we really without any way to deal with Lin Dong?"
"Vice President Carl asked with concern."
He's been feeling really down lately. Anyone would be very unhappy to be dragged from the bright lights of the city to this underground fortress with its cold walls on all sides.
The leadership of the world's leading superpower is willing to be a mole just to avoid a Chinese man.
This is an unprecedented disgrace!
"There is a solution, but the timing is not yet right."
Clington responded helplessly:
"The specific plans have been followed up by General Daly and Director Galen."
"Everyone is aware of the situation outside. It's not that we don't want to do anything, but we really don't have a better way to deal with it at the moment."
"General Daly, what's your opinion?"
Daly stubbed out his cigar and nodded:
"Yes, Your Excellency."
"More than six months ago, the Pentagon and the CIA developed a plan specifically targeting Lin Dong."
"This plan is classified as S-level top secret. Not many people know about it. Some of you here may have been exposed to it, but most of you are not familiar with the inside story."
"The situation is critical now, and the full cooperation of all departments is needed for this plan to have any chance of success."
Vice President Carl listened attentively, his right hand scribbling in his notebook with a pen, and asked:
"General Daly, are you referring to the 'Nuclear Winter Plan'?"
“Exactly!” Daly readily admitted.
“The Nuclear Winter Program? Could you elaborate, General Daly?” Secretary of State Brady interjected.
“Yes, what exactly is this plan? How much of the defense budget is involved? I’m very curious,” Treasury Secretary Janissary chimed in.
"Ahem!" Daly coughed twice and said:
"Minister Janissary, let me answer your question first. Regarding the budget for the Nuclear Winter Program, there is no upper limit."
"What?!" Janice exclaimed in astonishment. "How is this possible?!"
“Yes, you heard right. The budget for the Nuclear Winter Program is unlimited, but the funding source is not the government, so your Treasury Department doesn’t need to worry,” Daly explained.
"No government funding? That's even stranger!" Janissa's shocked expression hadn't faded. "Could it be... the channel mentioned above?"
Jennifer suddenly thought of a possibility and couldn't help but point her finger upwards.
Daly nodded in tacit agreement, which was taken as acknowledgment of her answer.
The distinguished figures present, who were hearing about the plan for the first time, were all enlightened and their curiosity about the "Nuclear Winter Project" intensified.
A plan that could alarm the Glorious Society and attract their attention at all costs should have no chance of failure in the end.
"Everyone, do you remember the underground nuclear explosion in the Lozel Mountains of Gaul earlier?"
CIA Director Galen, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up:
"In that nuclear explosion, the French detonated two nuclear bombs with a yield of 200,000 tons of TNT each."
"In the end, Lin Dong was not killed in the explosion and escaped after being buried underground for more than 30 hours."
Buzz~
The operations room nearly erupted into chaos.
Several high-ranking officials who were learning the inside story for the first time had expressions of shock and disbelief on their faces.
Two nuclear bombs couldn't kill them?
Is this even human?!
“I completely understand how you all feel. Aren’t you thinking: Is Lin Dong even human? How come even a nuclear bomb couldn’t kill him?”
Garen sighed and said:
"Actually, when I first received this news, I was just as shocked as everyone else, but there is one fact we have to admit."
"Lin Dong has actually transcended the human realm in a certain sense. To Earth, he is a bug."
"The existence of such people every day is a serious disruption to the existing civilized order!"
"You can understand by looking at the chaotic situation outside."
"Therefore, before God destroys him, He will first make him even more insane!"
Director Galen's words pulled everyone back from their shock and despair:
"Director Galen is right. There is an old Chinese saying: 'When Heaven wants to destroy someone, it first makes them mad.'"
"That makes sense. I refuse to believe that we, with the strength of our entire nation, can't deal with just one person."
"Yes! If two nuclear bombs can't kill him, then we'll use an even more powerful hydrogen bomb!"
"Oh, by the way, Director Galen, how exactly did Lin Dong manage to survive a nuclear explosion?"
......
That's a very insightful question.
Garen and Daly exchanged a glance, conveying their mutual understanding.
Then, both of them looked at the president.
It means, Mr. President, may I say this?
Clington considered it for a few seconds, then nodded in agreement.
"Everyone, please be quiet." Garen raised his voice. "Let me explain why the nuclear bomb couldn't kill Lin Dong."
Everyone quieted down, their eyes all fixed on Garen.
They were curious to know how one person could survive the explosion of two nuclear bombs.
"Based on our CIA intelligence analysis, let me state my conclusion first."
"The conclusion is: nuclear bombs are not incapable of killing Lin Dong; rather, he has found an effective way to defend against the damage caused by nuclear explosions."
"The underground nuclear explosion in the Lozer Mountains, which was supposed to be a confined space, could have trapped Lin Dong and beaten him up."
"But at the same time, the underground granite can also effectively reduce the damage caused by the explosion."
"That's one thing. On the other hand, the Lozer strategic underground base has a ventilation shaft built with a special alloy that extends deep into the rock."
