Chapter 472 The Highway Hunt in the Red Pickup Truck

CIA Langley Headquarters.

Garen stared at the live satellite images on the large screen, remaining silent for a long time.

His trusted generals stood there dumbfounded, not daring to make a sound.

The director seems to have become a completely different person since he returned from the White House.

The once decisive and efficient Director Garen is gone; now he's melancholic and taciturn...

"Director, what do you think... should we immediately report this intelligence to the White House and the Pentagon?"

The head of the intelligence department, Alyssa, asked cautiously.

Lost in his own thoughts, Garen frowned: "The White House? The Pentagon?"

"The president and the secretary of defense have long since taken refuge in Cheyenne Mountain Bunker."

"Huh?!" Alyssa exclaimed softly, and continued, "Chief, reporting the intelligence to Xia Yanshan is the same."

"Hmm," Garen replied perfunctorily, "Go ahead and make the arrangements."

“Yes, Chief.” Alyssa turned and left.

Garen refocused his somewhat wandering gaze on the satellite imagery.

"Request military satellites 3 and 5 to track this red pickup truck 24 hours a day."

Garen pondered for a moment, shook his head which felt like it was about to explode, and gave the order:

"Notify all police departments in Nevada and Utah to strictly prohibit stopping and inspecting this red pickup truck. Enough police officers have died this morning."

"yes!"

The operations director, Michael, and the technical director, Kuka, answered in unison.

“Chief, I have a question. Why were only two states notified? What about the other states?” Michael asked, puzzled.

Garen glanced at him:

"Chief Michael, let me ask you, starting from Officer Genos, who first discovered Lin Dong at 8:20 this morning, how many police officers have died in Nevada and Utah along the way?"

Michael's expression was grim: "A total of 63 police officers died."

"Then tell me, knowing that we are trying every means to kill him, why is Lin Dong still so arrogant?" Garen continued to ask.

Michael thought for a moment, then said hesitantly, "Could it be... that he's showing off to us?"

Garen nodded, then shook his head: "You're only half right."

"The biggest purpose behind Lin Dong's actions was to kill someone..."

"Murder?" Michael was surprised, then recalled Lin Dong's past, and his heart was filled with doubt and uncertainty.

“That’s right, he wanted to kill someone, so he deliberately made it so that we could see it openly, hoping that we would send more people to stop him,” Garen explained.

“I understand, but… Chief, what does this have to do with only warning the police forces in two states?”

"Michael, take a look at the map yourself. Lin Dong is driving east, and there are only two possible destinations."

"Washington? And another one... could it be... Cheyenne Mountain?"

“Yes, you’re not too stupid. No matter whether Lin Dong’s destination is Washington or Cheyenne Mountain, his final journey can only end at the border of Utah.”

A fierce glint flashed in Garen's eyes:

"Because, after passing Utah, going east through seven states including Colorado, you can reach Washington."

"If you leave Utah and enter northern Colorado, you'll reach Cheyenne Mountain!"

"No matter which one it is, I will not let him have his way."

Galen's analysis made Michael and the others who were listening nearby suddenly realize the truth.

It turns out that the cunning CIA director did not intend to give up and admit defeat.

Instead, they planned to set up a trap for Lin Dong on the eastern border of Utah.

......

"Director, I also have a question."

The head of the technical department, Kuka, raised his hand to ask a question.

"Ask away, hurry up and finish so we can get down to business," Garen said impatiently, rubbing his temples.

"Okay, Chief, my question is, what if Lin Dong suddenly disappears?"

"That's easy, we still have your technical department, right? Hehe..."

Garen smiled, which was rare for him today:

"With your newly developed stealth hacking technology, what good is Lin Dong's invisibility?"

"Alright, everyone disperse, let's get moving."

"I hope the next time I hear something good!"

......

....................................

Somewhere in Utah, on a state highway.

Lin Dong hummed a cheerful song as he gripped the steering wheel.

A powerful and resounding song, "Heroes' Song," drifted far away on the cool breeze along the highway.

After driving into Nevada today, he hasn't stopped killing people.

Along the way, anyone who dared to stop his car, whether they were American police or street thugs, was shot in the head.

After arriving in Utah, there were two instances where he was surrounded and chased by seven or eight police cars, but these armed officers eventually met their end by being shot and killed.

The highway hunt by the red pickup truck has claimed dozens more lives on this road.

If these people were to arrive in the underworld and learn that they were facing not ordinary villains, but the infamous underworld killer Lin Dong, they would probably be so frightened that they would die again.

What kind of bad luck did they have to run into Lin Dong?

Why didn't those incompetent CIA staff give us a heads-up earlier?

If they had known beforehand that the incredibly flashy red pickup truck was carrying Lin Dong, the god of death, who would have dared to stop him?

Do they all have a death wish?

Unfortunately, the fate of ordinary people is always so helpless and cruel.
