"Seeing is believing."
Just as the two were discussing, Judy suddenly suggested:
"Seeing is believing."
"Shall we go take a look?"
"Huh?"
Both of them were stunned for a moment.
The two then looked at each other and nodded.
...
The police have arrived at the scene.
Due to the murder, the police immediately cordoned off the entire parking lot.
No one may leave the parking lot without police permission.
The person in charge of this case is still an old friend of everyone's:
—Inspector Megure and Wataru Takagi.
Upon seeing Kouyu, Conan, and Professor Agasa, Inspector Megure's expression changed.
He felt that the pattern he had figured out before might actually be true.
Let's leave those digressions aside for now.
At this moment, Takagi Wataru is reporting on the findings of his investigation:
"The person who was murdered was Mr. Hanba Yukiya."
"I'm 41 years old this year."
"The cause of death was asphyxiation."
"Judging from the ligature marks on the neck, the murder weapon was probably a thin rope or something similar."
After examining the wound, Inspector Megure added:
"And it took a lot of effort."
Next, we met the person who first discovered the scene.
That is, the owner of that Porsche 911.
Then I met two other people who were with me.
After briefly understanding the relationship between these people, Inspector Megure approached Mitsuyu and Conan.
These individuals have not yet been ruled out as suspects.
There is also the possibility of accomplices.
Therefore, he wanted to ask people like Kōyū and Conan who were just casual acquaintances.
The answers you get will be more objective.
He bent down and asked:
"Kuangyou, Conan, could you tell me more details about what happened back then?"
"Conan wasn't there at the time, so let me explain."
Recalling what they saw when they arrived at the parking lot, Kwangyu truthfully stated:
"It was around 1 p.m. when I saw four people, including the deceased, enter the parking lot in that white Porsche 911."
“Apart from the deceased, the other three got out of the car after it came to a complete stop.”
"I saw that person in front of the Zun Ya Ting restaurant in the food court on the tenth floor..."
At this point, Kwangyu paused for a moment.
He glanced at the 911 driver before continuing:
"That old man, and the auntie behind him."
"uncle..."
The man called "Grandpa" twitched slightly at the corner of his mouth, thinking:
Do I look that old?
"He's only forty-five this year."
No one knows what he was feeling inside.
At this moment, Kōyū continued speaking:
“I’m not very clear about the rest of the situation, and I didn’t ask at the time.”
"Just from the situation here, I think the four of them must be Porsche enthusiasts."
"These four Porsches might all belong to them."
"Okay, I understand," Inspector Megure nodded.
He then turned to the three of them and asked:
"So, do all four Porsches parked here belong to you?"
The three nodded, and the "old man" put away his expression and said:
"Yes."
"It's just for convenience that the four of us ride in one car."
"Inspector Megure, please wait a moment."
At that moment, a forensic investigator called out to Inspector Megure.
He then walked over to Inspector Megure and whispered something in his ear.
After he finished speaking, Inspector Megure first expressed his gratitude to the staff.
Then he turned to look at the three of them and said:
"Based on the information we have so far, it seems that only the three of you are suspects."
"In other words, the murderer is one of the three of you."
Seeing the changing expressions on the three men's faces, Inspector Megure told them what he could say:
"Based on the autopsy results, the time of death was probably around 1 p.m.
"It's about the same time as that child mentioned."
"It's when you drive up to this parking lot."
"In other words, there is a high probability that one of the three of you strangled Mr. Hanba, who was inside the car, when he got out of the car."
"Of course, if you forget to lock the car doors when you get out, that's a different story."
Upon hearing this, the old man quickly spoke up:
"I remember locking the car door when I got out of the car."
They probably realized that this statement made the three of them more suspicious.
The old man immediately added:
"And when we got off the bus, he was still alive at halftime."
"He was just drunk."
Inspector Megure was somewhat surprised to hear these words.
He asked:
Really?
The other two echoed this sentiment:
"Yes, he's been sleeping ever since he got drunk."
"Still talking in his sleep."
“Things like ‘How did it go out of bounds again?’”
"And the three of us got off the bus at roughly the same time."
"So there was neither the time nor the means to strangle him."
"That little kid should be able to testify to that as well."
Upon hearing this, Inspector Megure turned to ask Kousuke:
"Kuangyou, is that so?"
After thinking for a moment, Guangyou said:
"That seems to be the case."
After receiving confirmation from Mitsuyuki, Inspector Megure nodded.
He turned to the three of them and said:
"In short, please answer my questions first."
