As the saying goes, "Birds of a feather flock together." Just now, Domoto Junpei was being criticized by his brother, Domoto Yasunori, and now he's using the same words to criticize Domoto Rina.
It's rare to find a family as harmonious as Sonoko's; it's fair to say that every wealthy family that Kōyō encounters has its problems.
The man following behind Rina Domoto was Tetsuya Aoyagi, a reporter from a newspaper. He said he was there to conduct an interview. Tetsuya Aoyagi calmly began, "Hello everyone, Rina has already told me about the cable car development. It seems that a lot happened during the tunnel development."
Upon hearing this, Eizo Domoto narrowed his eyes and looked at Tetsuya Aoyagi with a meaningful gaze.
Tetsuya Aoyagi kept everyone in suspense and didn't say what had happened, but it was clear that he knew something.
Domoto Yasunori had heard of the name Tetsuya Aoyagi, but had never met him in person. He turned his head to look at Tetsuya Aoyagi: "So you are Mr. Aoyagi. Well, you're trying to curry favor with Rina."
"I apologize for my rudeness on the phone last time." Tetsuya Aoyagi bowed slightly, politely ignoring his apology.
This apology left Rina Domoto somewhat bewildered: "What are you talking about?"
Ignoring all of this, Domoto Yasushi leaned close to Domoto Eizo's ear and whispered something in a very low voice.
The entire reception room was filled with an unusual atmosphere. Conan seemed to smell a conspiracy, which made Mitsuyu very annoyed. After the case of Hiroshi Nakamoto ended a few days ago, he finally had a few days of peace and quiet and enjoyed Ai's loving meals. But now he had to come here to attend an opening ceremony and encounter another case.
If Conan's passive ability could materialize, destroying the world would be a piece of cake! How would we fight a war? Just throw Conan! Throw one and everyone dies. Most importantly, there's no cooldown and no mana bar.
Yoshino Ayaka suggested that Uncle Mori and his group experience the aerial cable car before tomorrow's opening ceremony.
Domoto Yasunori readily agreed, thinking it was a good idea to let Uncle Mori learn about the aerial cable car first, so that he could better introduce it at tomorrow's opening ceremony and also enjoy the natural scenery.
Ran and Conan thought it was a good idea; besides attending the opening ceremony, they also wanted to relax and unwind.
But when Uncle Mori heard that he was going to take a cable car, his legs started shaking involuntarily, and his face was covered in cold sweat. Clearly, his fear of heights had already kicked in before he even got on the cable car.
Domoto Yasunori led everyone to the cable car. Everyone else had already boarded and sat down, but Uncle Mori was still standing at the door. Seeing that everyone else was seated and he was the only one left, Uncle Mori gritted his teeth, made up his mind, closed his eyes, ran into the cable car, and sat down next to Domoto Yasunori with lightning speed.
As the cable car started moving, Uncle Mori, even with his eyes closed, still raised his head and muttered something to himself, seemingly cheering himself on.
Yasunori Domoto noticed Uncle Mori's unusual behavior and simply sniffed him: "Mr. Mori, you don't have a fear of heights, do you?"
The calm tone of his words made Uncle Mori, whose emotions were already unstable, feel very embarrassed. He suppressed his emotions and slowly opened one eye to reply, "N-nothing, I won't open my eye."
The mountain is lush with greenery, and the view from the cable car window is breathtaking, with clear waters and verdant mountains. There is also a specially built hiking trail on the mountain.
Putting everything else aside, if we can guarantee that this green space can be well maintained in the future, this scenic area is still fantastic.
Domoto Yasunori was also somewhat helpless. Some villagers opposed the move because of money, and others were also because there was a nun named Kamiyama Shizuka in a nearby temple who kept inciting the villagers. This made the villagers afraid of offending the gods and angering the goddess, fearing that something bad might happen to them.
The local newspapers deliberately stirred up the villagers' discontent by questioning whether the curse existed, in order to generate buzz and make money.
Soon, the cable car entered a cave. Inside the pitch-black cave, the only way to see the interior was by the cable car's lighting.
Using the light from the cable car, the group discovered that below Shandong, there were statues, all of which were bald and dressed in loose monk robes.
Yoshino Ayaka explained, "Those are the statues of the Five Hundred Arhats. To be honest, we are currently passing through the body of that celestial maiden statue."
Upon hearing this, Guangyou understood why Shenshan Shizuka had incited the villagers. The tourism company had deliberately drilled a hole in the statue of the goddess, using the gimmick of receiving blessings by passing through the statue's body to attract tourists.
If you say that developing a tourist area can bring income to the villagers, I doubt many people would object. But you directly challenged a nun's faith, which is quite normal.
Once inside the cave, Uncle Mori felt much better. At least for now, he couldn't see how high he was off the ground, and he could catch his breath a little.
"By the way, that guy named Tetsuya Aoyagi mentioned something about what happened during the tunnel excavation," Uncle Mori asked, rubbing his head.
Domoto Yasunori said with certainty, "I think that guy is just trying to fabricate a scandal so he can take this opportunity to skim some money off our company."
But then he turned and began to complain under his breath: "Rina, really, why did she have to tell that guy that thing?"
"What is it?"
Domoto Yasunori quickly waved his hand: "It's nothing, it's just a family matter, nothing at all."
Kōyū glanced up at Tōmoto Yasunori and thought that this man seemed to have lost control of himself? He had just said that he was fabricating a scandal, but then he turned around and said that his sister had told Aōyagi Tetsuya about it. This was obviously an admission of guilt. Considering the cave, Kōyū could roughly guess what the so-called "scandal" was.
The cave was not long, and the cable car only took about 30 seconds to emerge from it. Previously, due to the height, the celestial maiden statue was not very clear, but after leaving Shandong, everyone could clearly see the upper body of the celestial maiden statue.
The celestial maiden's hand is in a Buddhist gesture, with her hands hanging down in front of her knees and her palms facing outwards. This gesture is called the Varada Mudra, which symbolizes the mudra made by the Buddha and Bodhisattvas in response to the prayers of sentient beings.
According to Yoshino Ayaka, the object held in her other hand is called a wish-fulfilling jewel, which is said to ward off disasters and misfortunes. She also said that a large sum of money was spent to build an observation deck so that tourists could appreciate the statue up close.
This also made Conan realize why Shizuka Kamiyama was so angry. It wasn't just because she had dug a cave under the statue of the goddess, but more importantly, because the statue, which should have been revered, had now become an object of appreciation for tourists.
Guangyou paused the game and looked out the window at the statue. To his surprise, he discovered that this so-called Celestial Maiden was actually a Bodhisattva statue.
However, the wish-fulfilling jewel held in the hands of the celestial maiden was clearly a peach in Guangyou's eyes!
You thought it was a wish-fulfilling pearl? Actually, it's a peach!
