Yokomizo and Uncle Mori also noticed Domoto Yasunori's unusual behavior, and they knew that Domoto Yasunori might be hiding something important.
Yoshito Nakano was very distressed. He had come to interview whether there was a curse, but now he had become a suspect in a murder case. This huge change left him, who had just graduated and entered society, feeling somewhat lost.
Machida Osamu, however, thought differently. He believed this was a rare exclusive news story. He envisioned it making the front page with a headline like "Shocking! The Celestial Maiden Statue did such a thing to a rich old man!" The newspaper would sell like hotcakes, and he could get promoted to CEO, marry a beautiful and wealthy woman, and finally reach the pinnacle of life. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
After hearing this, Conan and Mitsuyu understood why Yasunori Domoto wanted Osamu Machida to be on the first bus. Although Conan hadn't figured out the culprit and the method, this question was answered.
Just then, Yokomizo's words, "A corpse can't walk on its own," made Conan squint and brainstorm, and a bold guess emerged in his mind.
He was about to call Guangyou to check the evidence, but after looking around, he couldn't find anyone. Suddenly, he felt something was wrong and ran to the fence. Sure enough, he saw Guangyou next to the incinerator in the workers' rest room.
"Damn it, I got there first again."
After cursing under his breath, Conan went straight up the stairs to the rest room.
Kōyū was holding a hand-like object, which confirmed Conan's suspicions. He said, "Let me see this."
Having already observed the situation, Kōyū casually tossed his hand to Conan and left, saying, "Take your time and watch."
Guangyou wasn't particularly interested in solving cases; sometimes he participated, and sometimes he was just a minor character. He simply wanted to use his brain to keep it sharp.
Conan took the hand and examined it carefully. The hand was made of wood, and although it had been burned, its exquisite craftsmanship was still evident.
Suddenly, a glint of light on his hand made Conan grin: "I know the culprit."
As Kouyu walked down the street, he saw Ran looking around for something. When Ran saw Kouyu, she asked, "Kouyu, have you seen Conan?"
Pointing in the direction of the hut, Guangyou said, "It's inside that hut."
"Then you go to the station first, and be careful on the way!"
After saying that, Xiaolan walked towards the hut.
Guangyou shrugged, gave a mischievous grin, shook his head, and walked towards the station.
He walked slowly, taking in the scenery around him. The chirping of birds and insects echoed in his ears—a symphony of nature. It wasn't particularly awe-inspiring, but its beauty lay in its naturalness.
As cities develop and green spaces become increasingly scarce, such natural concerts are truly a rare treat.
With each breath, Guangyou could feel the fragrance of earth in the air, and occasionally a faint floral scent.
The celestial maiden statue stood not far from Guangyou. Guangyou looked up at the statue, and from his perspective, he could clearly see the mottled marks left by time on it.
Bathed in sunlight, the celestial maiden statue seemed to come alive, appearing extremely dignified. If believers saw this, they would absolutely be unable to resist the urge to kneel and worship.
Only a portion of the wish-fulfilling pearl in his hand was visible, but even from this portion, Guangyou discerned some clues: from a distance, the wish-fulfilling pearl seemed to be surrounded by auspicious energy, with faint clouds and mist swirling around it.
Guangyou narrowed his eyes slightly. In Buddhism, there is also the wish-fulfilling jewel, also called the Mani jewel, the wish-fulfilling treasure... It is said that it can manifest all kinds of treasures according to one's wishes and has the functions of warding off evil and curing diseases.
According to the Miscellaneous Treasures Sutra, this bead came from the brain of a Makara fish. Another text, the Mahaprajnaparamita Sutra, says that the wish-fulfilling bead came from the brain of a dragon king, or from the Vajra held by Indra after it broke and fell. It may also be said to be a transformation of the Buddha's finger relic. There are many different opinions, but their functions are basically the same: they can fulfill the wishes of sentient beings.
“These things are best left unsaid,” Guangyou chuckled. “They’re just rumors. People always try to find something that’s almost impossible to believe in to comfort themselves.”
Taking slow steps and whistling, Guangyou strolled through the woods, thoroughly enjoying himself. The feeling of being enveloped by nature is so rare in the city, where you are only enveloped by car exhaust or the smelly farts of strangers passing by.
Back at the special lounge at the station, everyone was there except for Conan. When Ran saw Kouyu come in, she asked, "Kouyu, have you seen Conan?"
Guangyou shook his head: "Maybe he was hungry and went to the toilet."
After saying that, Kōyū nodded affirmatively. Just as Kōyū finished speaking, the door was opened, and Conan walked in with a smile on his face. But his smile froze as soon as he entered, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
Ran stared intently at Conan: "Conan, why are you back later than me?"
Conan started acting like a child again, scratching his head: "Um, I got a little lost just now."
"You should be able to let me go now, right?"
Tetsuya Aoyagi suppressed the urge to curse. He believed that among these people, he was the only one without the motive to kill Eizo Domoto, and that should allow him to leave this hellish place.
"You think it's pointless for the person you're extorting to die here, right?" Domoto Junpei bluntly stated what he thought Aoyagi Tetsuya was thinking.
"I'm too lazy to waste my breath on you guys!" Tetsuya Aoyagi said with a look of disgust. "You brothers fought like that over the inheritance and you still have the nerve to talk about it?"
Tetsuya Aoyagi didn't hold back with his words against the Domoto family, which angered Junpei Domoto. He clenched his fists and stood up as if he was about to have a real-life Street Fighter match with Tetsuya Aoyagi.
It's very blunt, but it's true. Even if they didn't admit in public that they were arguing about the inheritance, there must have been disputes about it in private.
Seeing that a quarrel was about to break out, Yokomizo quickly stepped in to smooth things over and ask everyone to calm down and talk things out, since harmony is the most important thing.
Conan suddenly suggested that everyone take the cable car again. Yokomizo was fine with it, but Uncle Mori was about to explode. He had already endured the fear of heights twice, and now he had to do it again.
He immediately shouted, "Conan, what are you meddling for?!"
Yokomizo replied seriously, "No, that's a good idea. As the saying goes, the scene will tell. Maybe we'll make a new discovery this time!"
The reason was so compelling that Uncle Mori couldn't refuse. His face began to turn pale, and his mustache started to tremble. Uncle Mori sniffed hard, almost curling up in a corner and drawing circles.
Seeing that Yokomizo had agreed, Conan smiled with satisfaction. He had now completely figured out the method of the murder and who the killer was. His only annoyance was that Mitsuyu had once again found the clues before him.
This has nothing to do with reputation. The two have a very good relationship, but in private, through so many cases, Conan and Mitsuyu are secretly competing to see who can find the key clues and make the correct deductions the fastest.
