Chapter 173 The Miserable Car Rental Shop: Cars Get Bombed Every Day

After a moment of reflection, Ran frowned and asked, "If that was Kaito Kid, then where is my real father?"

"Probably at the gas station, because Uncle Mori got off there too," Kōyū replied.

Sure enough, at a gas station ten kilometers away from the Twilight Mansion, the group found Uncle Mori tied up with the gas station staff.

Uncle Mori, his eyes glazed over, wearing only a vest and shorts, cried out, "Is someone coming to save me? Help, help me!"

Seeing this, Ran quickly went forward to untie Uncle Mori, while Kazuyo, who was being held by Kid, was rescued when the helicopter landed.

She patted her chest and gasped for breath after getting off. She had expected Kidd to save her, so she jumped down directly. But she never expected that Kidd would do something unexpected and drop her directly onto the helicopter.

She was suspended in the air by a helicopter for the entire journey just now. At first, she was a little panicked, but she got used to it later.

She gazed at the sun on the horizon, her old eyes welled up with tears, and she shed a few: "That was my lost youth."

As soon as her feet touched the ground, Chima Kazuyo felt a sense of security. Then, the group boarded the helicopter, preparing to go to the Metropolitan Police Department to give a statement and pack up Chima Kazuyo to send her there.

After giving his statement at the Metropolitan Police Department, Uncle Mori frowned and stroked his chin: "I believe if I talk to the car rental shop staff, they should understand what I'm doing."

Guangyou chuckled to himself, wondering how Uncle Mori was going to explain things to the car rental shop owner. Luckily, Uncle Mori had the foresight to say that he could only rent a cheaper car.

On his way back to the office, Guangyou put his hands in his pockets and shook his head repeatedly. It was indeed a pity that he hadn't gotten the pure gold Twilight Mansion, but what Guangyou was thinking about was the artworks hidden underground. He could only hope that no one would notice those artworks and that he would find an opportunity to return the Chinese artworks to them later.

After spending the day at the Twilight Mansion, even Kōyū was a bit tired. After all, he was a child and hadn't slept for a day and a night. Now that he was relaxed, he lay down on the bed and fell asleep.

When he woke up, the sun was already setting. He rubbed his eyes and patted his face to wake up.

The office was empty at the moment. There was a sticky note on Guangyou's door. After Guangyou took it down and glanced at it, he learned that Uncle Mori and the others had gone to the car rental shop to complete the formalities after lunch.

Although he was already familiar with the process, the procedures were still complicated and time-consuming. After throwing the note into the trash can, Kwangyu pushed open the door and left the office.

Now he needed to take care of his stomach, which was growling loudly. Apart from having a dinner prepared by Daisho Shuzen at the Twilight Pavilion, he hadn't even had a sip of water.

He gets hungry more easily after strenuous exercise, which is unavoidable, after all, he is still an ordinary person.

To be honest, we've already tried all the food options near the office. Kwangyu decided to go to Ginza for a meal this time. Although it's expensive, we can't skimp on our stomachs, lest they protest during the next operation.

We arrived in Ginza again. This commercial district, which is a favorite haunt of the wealthy, was bustling with people because it was a weekend and nighttime.

Although the weather wasn't hot, and might even feel a bit chilly, fashion-conscious girls still wore miniskirts, revealing their beautiful legs clad in stockings, while their upper bodies remained relatively covered.

Guangyou strolled through the area, looking at the girls passing by with a critical eye: "The world is going to the dogs!"

"However, I like it."

The rumbling in his stomach brought Kōyū back to his senses, and he quickened his pace slightly. Last time he came here, he noticed that there seemed to be a very nice-looking buffet restaurant in Ginza.

As soon as he entered the store, Guangyou smelled the enticing aroma of food and nodded repeatedly, "It smells alright."

What attracted him to this restaurant was that the owner was Chinese, and he hoped to eat some authentic Chinese food here. If he could, the trip would be worthwhile.

After entering the store and sitting down, Guangyou was quite pleased. Just now, he discovered that this store actually served hot pot, and the broth seemed to have been specially air-shipped from China to Japan.

...

Guangyou walked out of the store, rubbing his slightly bulging belly, and muttered, "I just ate a little too much, why are you looking at me like that?"

Guangyou ate for about three hours in total. At first, he ate some barbecue, which was only a few dozen plates, and then he ordered hot pot.

At first, the staff were very attentive in helping him refill his water. But by the end, the meat display case was empty, the chefs were too busy to take a break, and the waiters were looking at Guangyou like he was a monster.

They were very curious about how Guangyou's small body could hold so many things.

Guangyou, of course, had no idea what they were thinking, nor did he know that the boss later decided to change the buffet policy to charge extra if the buffet lasted more than an hour and a half.

The moon was already high in the night sky, emitting a lonely, faint light, while the Ginza commercial district was filled with bright lights and neon signs everywhere.

Many young women who appear to be attractive are accompanied by male companions, some handsome and some not so handsome. However, these male companions all have one thing in common: they are rich.

Guangyou was prepared for this scene, and he walked through the crowd.

Unbeknownst to him, he left Ginza. As he walked, he found himself back at the shop selling candied hawthorns. Everything was as usual: the familiar old man, the familiar spot, the familiar movements.
