Police from Fukui Prefecture were also at the scene. After crying, Junhui honestly confessed her crime to the police. The older adults on the island felt only pity and regret seeing their once close friend turn out like this.
The following day, adults and children on the island came to see Junhui off as she was to be handed over to the authorities, but the sea conditions were not optimistic. The wind and waves never stopped, as if the sea itself was trying to keep Junhui from leaving.
It wasn't until another day had passed that the sea calmed down, and Junhui, under the watchful eyes of the island's residents, gradually sailed away on the police yacht.
Guangyou and his group boarded the ship to return. Not long after leaving the island, they unexpectedly encountered Sachiko and Takayoshi, who were involved in the diplomat incident.
Seeing the two of them, it seemed their relationship remained unchanged. Sachiko was happy to see an acquaintance and said, "Mr. Mori, were you also invited by Saori to go to the American island?"
Guishan explained, "Actually, Sachiko is also from that island, which is why she told the lady next door about your situation."
Sachiko looked around and asked curiously, "Shinichi Kudo didn't come here. I clearly told her that Shinichi Kudo is the most reliable person."
Upon hearing this, Heiji and Conan finally resolved their last question. However, Heiji suddenly realized that Shinichi Kudo was the most reliable person among Sachiko's people, and he couldn't help but glance at Conan standing next to him, letting out a disgruntled snort.
This left Conan completely bewildered. Sachiko and Takayoshi seemed unaware of what was happening on the island and curiously asked why the police had sent them back on this ship.
Uncle Mori scratched his head: "It's better if you guys don't know."
"By the way, why are you only just getting back? Wasn't the Dugong Festival already over?" Heiji looked at the two of them and assumed they were also going to attend the Dugong Festival.
“We’re not going to the dugong festival,” Sachiko replied. “The seafood there is cheap and fresh, and the scenery here is nice. It’s been quite popular lately.”
Guangyou raised an eyebrow. In fact, this island didn't need to rely on mermaids to attract visitors. Compared to such mysterious things, he cared more about practical things like food.
If the islanders could amplify their biggest feature and open a seafood farmhouse restaurant or something similar, that would be wonderful.
After a long journey home, Kōyū finally returned to his beloved bed. Heiji took Kazuha directly back to Osaka, while Kōyū lay on the bed, lost in thought.
After some time, Guangyou's eyes regained their brightness: "Let's go see Grandpa after school tomorrow."
After making his decision, he lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep. When he arrived at school, the classroom was still as harmonious as ever, with students chatting in small groups about where they had gone to play during their days off.
When Ayumi saw Kousuke arrive, she greeted him sweetly. When she saw Conan behind Kousuke, her expression was one of pure celebration.
Ai had already arrived at school. She sat in her seat, seemingly out of place among the students around her, flipping through a textbook filled with symbols.
Kōyū smiled, walked over to Ai-chan and said to her, "Ai-chan, come with me to see my grandpa after school today."
"Grandpa? Okay." Ai didn't ask any more questions and agreed immediately.
...
As Guangyou waited anxiously, he couldn't wait to get up and go to Ai's side as soon as the school bell rang: "Let's go, let's go!"
Led by Mitsuyu, the two arrived at a tombstone in a corner of a public cemetery. There were only six characters on the tombstone, and Ai read them out softly: "The Tomb of Ryosuke Ikeda".
Guangyou nodded, looking at the tombstone with eyes full of remembrance and regret: "He raised me, but he passed away before I could repay him."
The two placed the white chrysanthemums they had bought from a florist on the way behind the tombstone. As Guangyou solemnly bowed to the tombstone, he thought to himself, "If it weren't for you, old man, I'd probably be dead by now."
Remembering the symbolism of white chrysanthemums, Guangyou smiled and said, "Perhaps white chrysanthemums are the most suitable for you, Grandpa."
Ai nodded: "Yes, the white chrysanthemum symbolizes nobility, which is indeed very suitable for Grandpa."
Just as the two were about to leave, Guangyou saw two high school students holding hands, each holding a bouquet of white chrysanthemums.
When the two high school students saw where Kōyū was standing, they were stunned for a moment. Then they walked to Ryōyū's tombstone, placed white chrysanthemums, and bowed to the tombstone in the same manner.
As Kōyū looked at the male and female high school students in front of him, a strange feeling arose in his mind that he seemed to know them. After the two high school students bowed, the girl turned to look at Kōyū, her doubts no less than his.
Just as Kōyū was lost in thought, Ai tugged at him and said, "Kōyū, it's time to go."
"Guangyou?!"
Kōyū finally came to his senses and was about to leave with Ai when he heard the girl's excited shout.
When Guangyou was called, he turned around in confusion and saw a girl shaking his arm and calling out, "Renjian, do you remember? You're the little kid that the dean brought back back then."
Renjian squinted as if he was thinking, but soon he suddenly understood. Looking at Guangyou in front of him, his eyes were full of longing and joy: "Guangyou, do you still remember us?"
"Silly girl, how could you possibly remember? Have you forgotten what happened to Guangyou back then?" the girl said, covering her mouth with a laugh.
"That's true." Renjian scratched his head sheepishly.
Upon hearing the name, countless images flashed through Guangyou's mind like a slideshow. The last image was of his last birthday before he regained consciousness, when the old Dean Liangyou personally cooked him a bowl of noodles.
He ate a bowl of clear soup noodles, the taste was very bland, and he drank the soup as if it were water, but he was very happy at the time. There was a man and a woman beside him, but he couldn't remember their faces. He was not yet awake at that time, and he only had a few scattered images in his mind when he was not fully awake.
But amidst these seemingly unrelated scenes, the man and woman beside him appeared unchanged. His mind raced, and Guangyou, with his eyes tightly shut, slowly uttered a few words: "Sister Yin? Brother Jian?"
Upon hearing this, smiles appeared on the faces of the two high school students. Clearly, Guangyou was referring to them; the boy's name was Renjian, and the girl's name was Zhuyin.
Guangyou slowly opened his eyes and carefully observed the two people in front of him. Renjian's body was much stronger than he remembered, and his school uniform could not hide the obvious streamlined shape of his arms.
At this moment, Zhu Yin still had the long hair from the memory. Her face wasn't beautiful, but it was very pretty, and the smile that always graced her face added a lot to her charm.
Upon seeing his old friends, Guangyou's somewhat heavy mood lifted considerably. He smiled at the two people before him and said, "It's been a long time."
