Inside the ward, Ai looked anxiously at Kyou, who was still unconscious on the hospital bed.
Where is this?
Kōyū's weak voice echoed in the ward. Although the voice was faint, Ai still heard it.
Upon hearing the sound, her expression immediately turned to surprise and delight. Then, she kept her eyes fixed on Guangyou, and when she saw him open his eyes, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
When Guangyou first opened his eyes, everything was blurry. After a while, things gradually became clearer, and he saw the face he had been longing for.
Are you alright?
Her voice was still weak and hoarse, but those words brought tears to Xiao Ai's eyes. She quickly shook her head and said, "I'm fine. How about you?"
Just as Kōyū was about to shake his head, Ai stopped him: "You should rest well. Tell me if you need anything, and I'll prepare it for you."
"No need." Kōyū looked at Ai, making her blush slightly, then turned to look out the window. "Not bad, not bad luck."
The door opened, and Xiaolan walked in carrying a lunchbox. Seeing Guangyou, she said with some joy, "Guangyou, you're awake! This is porridge I cooked. You can eat it when it's not so hot anymore."
"Thank you, Ran-neechan." Ai thanked them on behalf of Kōyū.
"I'll be going now, you should get some rest." Xiaolan glanced at her watch and said to Guangyou.
After resting for a while, Kōyū recovered from the aftereffects of anesthesia. With Ai's help, he sat up halfway on the bed, with a pillow behind him.
Leaning against the wall, Guangyou's still slightly pale face, which was still smiling, was much better than before, and the bloodstains on his face had long been cleaned up.
Watching Ai carefully blowing on the porridge, Kōyū looked down at his own bandaged body and sighed, "It's worth it."
Ai held a spoonful of porridge to Kōyū's lips, then suddenly asked, "What if I don't go with you?"
"Then sit over there." Guangyou swallowed the porridge, the perfect warmth moistening his slightly dry throat.
"Aren't you afraid of dying?" Ai asked, feeding Guangyou another spoonful of porridge.
Guangyou swallowed the porridge and shook his head slightly: "Of course I'm scared. Who isn't afraid of death? But compared to that, I think I'm more afraid of losing you."
"Drink some porridge." Ai said shyly as she forced the porridge into Guangyou's mouth, pouting apologetically.
After finishing his porridge, Kōyū was forced to go to sleep by Ài, who said that going to bed early and waking up early was good for his health. After tidying up the ward, Ài wanted to stay with Kōyū in the ward, but Kōyū sent her back.
After Ai left, she turned off the lights in the ward. Kōyū lay on the bed, his stomach empty after the surgery. He had some warm porridge to fill his stomach, and although it tasted a bit bland, it gave him some strength, and his lips regained some color.
Feeling the injuries inside his body, Guangyou sighed helplessly, "Fortunately, I jumped out in time."
Recalling the scene, Guangyou couldn't help but feel a chill down his spine. When he jumped out, the superficial wounds on his face were okay, but the aftershocks of the explosion made him vomit blood uncontrollably.
Kwang-yu turned to look at the night sky outside: "I think I saw things from that world back then."
After thinking for a long time, Guangyou shook his head, closed his eyes, and rested.
The next day, as the first rays of morning sunlight shone on Kōyū's face, his eyelashes fluttered gently, and he slowly opened his eyes. He lazily stretched and turned to look at Ai, who was busy beside him: "So early?"
"Did I wake you up?" Ai stopped what she was doing and asked apologetically.
After seeing Kousuke shake his head, Ai took out a lunchbox from the bag, ladled out a bowl of porridge, and then took out a spoon to feed Kousuke.
The moment he tasted the porridge, Guangyou raised an eyebrow: "It tastes good."
This is the truth; it was the first piece of meat he ate after the surgery. Moreover, Ai's cooking skills are quite good, so these words were not just for show.
At least it has some flavor now, right?
As he ate his porridge, Kōyū looked at Ai and suddenly noticed a hint of weariness in her eyes. He frowned and asked, "What time did you get up today?"
The two stared at each other. Ai hesitated for a moment, then, like a child who had done something wrong, she tugged at the hem of her clothes and whispered, "Four...four o'clock."
The expected criticism did not come; instead, Kōyū sighed and said, "Don't do that again next time."
Ai obediently responded.
That afternoon after school, Xiaolan came over and brought good news for Guangyou. After the doctor's observation, Guangyou's postoperative recovery was going very well. He would stay in the hospital for a few more days for observation, and if everything was fine, he could be discharged.
Upon hearing this news, Guangyou's lips slowly curved into a smile. The hospital was comfortable; someone would feed him, and he could eat and sleep as usual. If he was bored, he could watch TV in the ward or play video games.
However, the hospital was filled with the smell of disinfectant, which made Kōyū a little irritable after a while. Fortunately, Ai often talked to Kōyū.
Otherwise, he would really suffocate. Besides, after drinking too much porridge, Guangyou, being a carnivore, naturally felt that his mouth was lacking in oil.
A few days later, when Guangyou walked out of the hospital, the long-awaited sunlight shone on him. The sunlight was a bit dazzling today, and he couldn't help but close his eyes and raise his hand to shield them from the light.
After getting used to it, Guangyou put down his hand, stretched, and took a deep breath: "The air outside is still the best."
"Oh, you're discharged from the hospital?" Conan's somewhat gloating voice rang out from afar.
Guangyou turned around and nodded: "How many have died since I last saw them?"
"What do you mean, how many died?" Conan didn't quite understand what Mitsuyu meant.
Seeing that he hadn't thought it through, Kōyū simply grabbed Ai and walked past Conan. He hadn't eaten meat for days, so he suddenly wanted to take Ai to Ginza to eat the same buffet he had eaten at last time.
This time, I'm going to teach the boss a lesson. I'm recovering from a serious illness—no, I mean, my wounds are just healing. After eating only light porridge for a few days, every cell in my body is screaming, "I want to eat meat!"
He pulled Ai along to the store, and as soon as they arrived at the door, they saw a shop assistant put a sign on the door. Looking at the words on it, Guangyou had a black line appear on his head: "What's going on? There wasn't this sign before."
Seeing that Guangyou seemed a little confused, the clerk said, "Originally, this wasn't the rule in the store, but according to the people in the store, last time someone ate for half a day and still wasn't full. He ate the equivalent of almost seven or eight people's worth of food, so the boss added this rule."
After saying that, the employee smiled at the two of them and said, "Welcome to eat here, the food is quite delicious."
As he watched the employees walk inside, a hint of embarrassment appeared on Guangyou's face.
