Seeing Ai's puzzled look, Kōyū explained, "People have a tendency to blindly follow trends and join in the fun. This store is bound to be like this when it first opens. Besides, Ginza has a lot of foot traffic, so it's normal. It won't be so crowded after a while."
The two ordered two Americanos recommended by the barista. Just as they received their drinks, several other people left.
They sat by the window, where the warm afternoon sunlight streamed in. Holding slightly warm but not scalding coffees, the two chatted quietly.
"Do you think curses really exist in this world?" Ai's slender hand moved slightly, opening the lid on the coffee.
Kōyū also opened his coffee lid, and after hearing Ai's question, he looked at her curiously: "Why do you ask that?"
"I feel like you're cursed, wherever you go, you die." Ai held the coffee to her nose, smelling the aroma, and said softly.
Unlike Ai, Kōyū was not particular. After removing the lid, he took a small sip and said, "How could that be? Curses don't exist. If there were, it would be Conan who infected me."
How could he possibly acknowledge something so mysterious and absurd? Even if it existed, what could he do? Couldn't he just silently endure it?
Anyway, this buff will only apply to random people. If it does, Mitsuyu believes that Conan will definitely solve the case for the random person and reveal the truth.
Guangyou immediately changed the subject, then turned back to drink the so-called Americano. Americano is the most common type of coffee, light and clear in color, almost transparent.
Kōyū could even see the brown coffee at the bottom of the cup. This was in Japan; in France or Italy, ordering an Americano might have been met with ridicule.
The French jokingly refer to American coffee as "water for washing socks," but this has little to do with the average person who occasionally drinks coffee; after all, everyone has their own preferences.
Fortunately, the coffee shop didn't have any problems this time. If it had, Guangyou would have been in real trouble.
After finishing their coffee and enjoying the free air conditioning in the shop for a while, the two got up and left, giving their seats to another couple.
After leaving the store, the two began another round of shopping. After shopping for a while, they decided it was time to go eat.
They played outside until almost seven or eight o'clock in the evening before parting ways. Ai went back to Professor Agasa's house, while Kousuke went back to his agency.
"I'm back."
Pushing open the office door, I found Uncle Mori and his group had finished dinner and were sitting in front of the TV watching a drama. When they saw Kouyu return, only Ran was the first to respond: "Did you have fun?"
His trip was naturally known to Xiaolan and the others, but Guangyou didn't intend to hide it from them. He smiled and nodded, "You had a lot of fun. I even brought you some gifts today."
The mention of gifts brought a reaction from the others, especially Conan, who immediately leaned close to Kouyu and asked, "Gifts? What did you buy?"
Kōyū completely ignored Conan's change of expression, took out a piece of clothing from the gift bag, and said, "This is for Ran-neechan."
Xiaolan thanked him with delight, then took the clothes from Guangyou's hands and happily went to the nearby bathroom to try them on.
Then, Guangyou whispered in Uncle Maoli's ear: "Uncle, I brought you a bottle of imported red wine. You should hide it well later."
Uncle Mori raised an eyebrow, suppressing the urge to stick out his tongue and laugh out loud. He patted Kōyū's back hard and said in a low voice, "Kōyū, you're a good kid. You're much better than Conan, who just freeloads all day."
Although the voice was soft, Conan still heard it, rolled his eyes, and was quite dissatisfied.
If it weren't for me, the famous detective Shinichi Kudo, how many cases could you, an old man, have solved?
Don't you know what's going on?
However, what Kousuke said next made Conan burst out laughing.
"Conan, this is a complete Sherlock Holmes collection for you, the first edition." Kōyū pulled out a beautifully packaged box.
When Conan heard Mitsuyu's words, he could no longer contain the excitement in his heart. His feet kept moving in place, and his eyes gleamed with a wolf-like light, like a hungry wolf.
The moment Kōyū placed the box on the table, Conan rushed to the table and gently stroked the box, just like a wolf touching a woman.
Slowly opening the box, Conan's breathing became much heavier when he saw the books inside that looked quite old.
However, he couldn't bear to flip through it. Conan only wanted to keep this old thing as a collectible. He wouldn't look at it normally, and if he accidentally damaged a page or two, it would definitely make him depressed.
After Guangyou handed out the gifts, Xiaolan changed her clothes, pushed open the bathroom door and came out. She walked into everyone's view, turned around, and asked, "How is it? Does it look good?"
"It looks great!" Kōyū nodded in approval, after all, it was a piece that Kōyū and Ai had chosen together.
Even Conan snapped out of his reverie, swallowing hard, and said, "It's really good!"
"Really?" Xiaolan's smile suddenly disappeared, replaced by a slightly worried expression. "But this dress seems a bit expensive."
She often goes shopping with Sonoko, and she has a good eye for brands. This brand is certainly not the most expensive, but she rarely considers it anyway.
Guangyou waved his hand to reassure her: "It's alright."
Sonoko had secretly told Ran about buying the bag. Although Ran was a little surprised, she accepted it. Uncle Mori, however, didn't say anything after hearing about it.
He originally thought that children couldn't manage money well, but Guangyou's usual behavior reassured him. Besides, he was the one supporting Guangyou now, so even if Guangyou squandered all his money, he could still afford to support him.
How can one grow without experiencing setbacks?
Under Guangyou's persuasion, Xiaolan accepted the dress and genuinely liked it.
After making a fuss for a while, it was getting late, and Guangyou was getting ready to wash up and go to bed. After all, his injuries had just healed, and cultivating immortality was still a huge burden for him.
Before going to bed, Uncle Mori received a phone call. He answered with a big smile: "Hahaha, that's only right, Inspector Megure. The upbringing of the next generation is very important!"
After hanging up the phone, Uncle Mori said to Ran with a smile, "Kouyu helped Inspector Megure and the others solve another case today. The restaurant owner was very generous and gave Kouyu 100,000 yen as a thank you. Inspector Megure told us to pick it up tomorrow."
However, Kōyū didn't hear any of this. He rolled his eyes at Conan, who was sitting at the table with the light on, and complained, "Can you turn off the light and go to sleep? You won't sleep if I give you a set of books?"
Conan carefully flipped through the book, turned a page, read the words, and felt a little excited. After hearing Mitsuyu's words, he turned his head and nodded repeatedly: "Okay, okay."
Then, with a slight reluctance, she put the book back in the box and carefully placed it in the most conspicuous spot on the table before obediently going to sleep.
