Early in the morning, Uncle Mori went to the Metropolitan Police Department to collect his reward, while Mitsuyoshi went to find Professor Agasa, or more accurately, to find Ai Haibara.
When Kousuke arrived at Professor Agasa's house, he found that Ayumi and the others had also arrived long ago.
Guangyou asked in confusion, "Doctor, are you guys going camping?"
"No, it's just that an old friend's child is going abroad, and he invited me to come over for a visit," Dr. Agasa explained, scratching his gleaming head.
Guangyou nodded knowingly: "Then let's go."
"Okay, wait until Ai finishes breakfast," Professor Agasa said.
As soon as she finished speaking, Ai came out and said, "Let's go."
It took them nearly half an hour to arrive at the house of Professor Agasa's old friend.
After the doorbell was rang, a young man came to greet everyone and then told Professor Agasa the general direction of the parking lot.
It has been ten years since Professor Agasa last visited, and much of the area has been renovated since then, to the point that Professor Agasa can no longer remember the routes around the area.
Professor Agasa didn't know the way, so Ai said she would look at the map, and Kousuke and Ayumi's group went through the gate first.
Teruyo Kano, the grandson of Professor Agasa's old friend, is accompanied by a Shiba Inu.
Girls have no resistance to such cute creatures. Not to mention Ayumi, even Kousuke really likes Shiba Inus.
However, it's really hard to tell the difference between Akita Inu and Shiba Inu Koyuki, as they look quite similar and are relatively easy to see in Japan.
Of course, there are definitely differences between the two. For example, Akita dogs are large dogs, and there are also subtle differences in their faces. It is said that Akita dogs' faces are more similar to bears, but even Kōyū couldn't distinguish the specific differences between the two types of dogs.
For a time, he even thought Shiba Inu was another name for Akita Inu, until he later learned that they were two different breeds.
Ayumi stroked the Shiba Inu's head, her girlish heart overflowing: "So cute!"
"This is a male dog." Guangyou nodded, looking at the very conspicuous physical characteristics in the air.
Genta turned his head and asked, "Big brother, what's the name of this Shiba Inu?"
“His name is Arthur, which is taken from Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. You should have heard of him, right?” Garner explained with a smile.
Not only do they know, but there's also a die-hard fan here.
Everyone present knew that Conan was a die-hard fan of Sherlock Holmes, except for Gara, who was meeting him for the first time.
Ayumi, holding Arthur's paw, said, "If it teamed up with Conan, it would definitely become a famous detective!"
"Please, you want me to solve cases with dogs?" Conan frowned and smiled wryly.
Guangyou pursed his lips: "What, they're quite useful too. For example, the Hakuba Saguru I met a while ago, he also solved cases with animals, and they were very useful."
Conan shrugged, neither confirming nor denying.
"Returning to this place after ten years, I have many feelings," Professor Agasa said with a smile.
Ghana said with slight surprise, "You found the parking lot so quickly? The buildings around here are quite complex; I thought it would take longer."
At this point, Professor Agasa became slightly embarrassed: "It was because Ai helped me look at the map that we didn't get lost. Otherwise, relying solely on me, it's hard to say what would have happened."
Suddenly, Arthur opened his mouth, his sharp teeth gleaming coldly, and roared loudly at Professor Agasa and Ai, seemingly very angry.
Upon hearing Arthur's roar, Kōyū immediately went to Ai's side, shielding her behind him, and then shouted sternly at Arthur, "Arthur, stop yelling."
As soon as Guangyou spoke, Arthur stopped barking, though a purring sound still came from his neck.
Then, Kōyū turned to look at Professor Agasa, his gaze lingering on the side of Professor Agasa's coat. He reached out and removed the fur from the coat: "Professor, you just petted another dog? And a male dog that's bigger than Arthur?"
"Yes, I ran into a friend when I parked the car. He was walking a Doberman Pinscher, and Ai and I both petted it. Is that why?" Professor Agasa asked, frowning slightly in confusion.
Conan nodded and looked up at Professor Agasa, explaining, "Dogs have a very keen sense of smell. Because you had that Doberman's fur on you, and Mr. Kanon just gave you directions to the parking lot, Arthur subconsciously thought you were an enemy, which is why it barked at you."
This blunder left everyone both amused and exasperated, but Arthur calmed down after being comforted by his master.
"That child did a great job."
A middle-aged man with a mustache pushed open the door and walked in. "In that situation, I had to yell louder and fiercer at Arthur, otherwise he would have thought he was right. He's not at the point where he can understand human speech yet."
"Oh, Mr. Tsunashima Yoshio, I'll be more careful next time."
After giving an apologetic reply, Gana turned and introduced, "This is Mr. Tsunashima, whom I met at the Kennel Club."
"Let's go in first," Ghana said with a smile, "There are gifts for everyone today too."
Ghana led everyone to the living room, which was already filled with many things, such as dolls, model airplanes, hourglasses, and other small items.
"Everyone, pick something you like. Take whatever you like and don't be shy." Ghana's tone was decisive, without the slightest hint of reluctance. On the contrary, seeing the joyful expressions on everyone's faces as they saw these items, he himself felt somewhat happy.
"These things must be quite expensive, right? Isn't this a little embarrassing?" Dr. Agasa immediately turned to ask.
Ghana's smile remained unchanged: "The price is okay, but my late grandfather would always buy some as souvenirs whenever he traveled abroad. My parents aren't really interested in these things, and it would be a bit unfair to my grandfather if we sold them. So, we decided that it would be more meaningful to part with them and give them to friends we know."
Guangyou understood after hearing this. If it were an ordinary family, they would have sold it. Although the Ghana family was not extremely wealthy, they were not short of money either. They probably valued the meaning behind these things more.
Ghana smiled again and explained, "Of all the things in this house, I'll only take Arthur to England. The only thing my parents will take is this dog named Doyle."
Upon hearing his introduction, Kōyū noticed that there was a butterfly dog behind them, named Doyle. Kōyū tugged at Conan and asked, "Kana-nii, is there another dog named Conan?"
"Yes, there used to be a sheepdog named Conan, but Conan died of illness two years ago," Ghana answered honestly, unaware of the situation.
"Conan is dead, what a pity." Kōyū deliberately shook his head with a long face.
