Chapter 237 Other people's children are always better

After watching the parade, Kōyū took Ai to the Adventure World. Kōyū believed that the place where their relationship could progress the most was the mini-game area.

Here, you can find all sorts of mini-games, from whack-a-mole and goldfish fishing to ring toss, beanbag toss, and balloon popping.

The children gathered around games like whack-a-mole, goldfish fishing, and ring toss, while the adults stayed with them. Some adults even popped balloons at the children's request to win prizes.

Of course, even if children want to pop balloons, adults won't allow it for safety reasons. So what if children can't go up but want the prize?

Only the adults, who are parents, can do it.

But Kouyu and Ai are the exceptions. They look like children, but the souls hidden beneath their skins are not as simple as they appear.

Ai was intrigued by the scene before her; she had never been to this place before, only heard about it from others.

Kōyū brought Ai to the whack-a-mole game. Fortunately, the management of the Adventure World had taken this into account, and there were quite a few whack-a-mole machines, so Kōyū didn't have to drag Ai to wait in line to play.

"How do you play this?" Ai blinked, holding the hammer, and tentatively swung it downwards. "Like this?"

Guangyou chuckled, "You don't know how? Come on, perfect timing, let's do it together."

This machine is designed to foster relationships and is not the kind you see on the market, but no matter how it's improved, the core gameplay remains the same.

While playing whack-a-mole with Ai, Kōyū discovered that Ai's reaction speed was quite good. Perhaps there was a natural reason for it, but joining the organization might also have played a part, since everyone in the organization was good with guns.

This was perfectly demonstrated in the balloon-popping game. Although a long air gun was used, Ai managed to control it very well.

Ai fired five shots in total, and in three of them, she took a small dog doll that was as big as her face.

Although Guangyou hadn't played this game for a very long time, he missed a shot at the beginning, but gradually found his rhythm later on.

After Ai finished shooting, there were still thirteen balloons left on the wall. Kōyū paid for fifteen shots.

After receiving the money, the boss was all smiles. After all, no businessman is without guile, and this gun must have been tampered with, otherwise he would have gone bankrupt long ago.

But as Guangyou fired the gun, the smile on his face gradually froze.

After firing the first shot and missing, the boss was smiling, thinking to himself, "This time I can make a lot of money."

The second shot hit, and the boss still smiled and said, "Just one."

The third shot hit. The boss's smile lessened slightly, but he still smiled and said, "It's okay, we still made a good profit."

The fourth shot hit, and the boss's smile gradually turned bitter: "I hope he doesn't keep hitting like this."

...

The fifteenth shot hit. The boss's eyes reddened. At that moment, he thought of the sunset, which represented his lost youth.

Although he was upset, the boss still had to force a smile, but the smile looked very forced. To use a phrase that Guangyou liked in his previous life, it was a smile that looked like a cry, which was quite unique.

Seeing Guangyou carrying a huge life-size doll and holding his most expensive accessory as he walked to another stall, the owner's bitter face suddenly lit up with a smile, but tears welled up in his eyes and streamed down his face.

"Let that guy experience what I feel too, since he's always been at odds with me."

After leaving the balloon popping area, the two went straight to the ring toss game diagonally opposite. Ai tried five times but only managed to ring one bracelet.

Ai shook her head and said to Kouyu beside her, "That one is a bit big, it's hard to put on."

"Of course, you take it, I'll give it a try." Kōyū handed the doll to Ai, stretched his arms, and said to the shopkeeper, "Boss, give me ten laps."

There were many prizes on the field, but those closest to Guangyou were just some cheap trinkets. Even if you bought them directly with money, it would be more cost-effective than ring toss, even if you got the prize in one go.

The farther away the object is, the larger it appears. The size of the ring is fixed. Of course, to prevent people from saying it's impossible to ring it, the shop owner will substitute some of the larger items with something else that is very difficult to ring.

Every game has its tricks, and ring toss is no exception. Of course, the ring shop owner can't do anything shady, so most of the tricks are done on the prizes themselves.

Even Guangyou missed five out of ten laps, but luckily he got the most expensive items in the last row.

When Kōyū turned around, he noticed that Ai's toys were gone, and asked in confusion, "Hey, where are the toys?"

Ai pointed to a small child on the other side and said with a smile, "It's for him."

Suddenly realizing that she hadn't gotten Guangyou's permission, she asked hesitantly, "You're not angry, are you?"

Guangyou shook his head: "How could that be? Since I gave it to you, it's yours to decide what to do with it."

Ai breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good. I was thinking that since I have one now, and the child seemed to really want it, I gave it to him."

"It's okay, no need to explain. As long as you're happy," Guangyou comforted him with a smile.

Next, Kousuke played some other games with Ai. They were just playing, and Ai gave away the prizes to the children present.

Looking at those innocent smiling faces, Ai's mood improved a lot, even though they didn't look much older than those children.
