Chapter 280 Bringing Xiao Ai Back to China

The next day at noon, after finishing his lunch, Guangyou left the office.

His purpose was different from Ran's. Ran and Conan were going to Eri Kisaki's law firm, and Conan was very curious about the case.

Meanwhile, Kōyū went to Professor Agasa's house, intending to ask Ai if she wanted to go to China with him.

Kōyū thought Ai was continuing her research on the antidote in the basement, but when he opened the door, he realized he was wrong.

Ai was sitting on the sofa watching TV, and she seemed to be in a good mood.

After sitting down on the sofa, Guangyou got straight to the point.

"Ai, I'm thinking of going back to China in a couple of days. Do you want to come with me?"

Ai thought for a moment, then turned her head and asked, "When?"

"In the next few days, the day after tomorrow or the day after that."

"Sure, I've never been there before, so I'll treat it as a trip."

Kōyū smiled and nodded; it would be best if Ai were willing to go.

For Guangyou, traveling alone was always somewhat lonely.

Having another person with you during the trip will prevent Guangyou from being alone and complaining to himself.

I can also tell Ai, who has never been here before, the stories that happened here.

Thinking about all this, Guangyou felt that this trip to China would be much more enjoyable.

"but..."

"But what?"

"You'd better cook me a good meal tonight as a bribe."

Ai's request made Kōyū chuckle: "Alright, I'll take care of it tonight."

Guangyou thought it was something serious, just cooking a meal, nothing difficult.

"I'll go prepare the ingredients in a bit."

While chatting on the computer, Professor Agasa heard that Kousuke was going to cook, and he couldn't help but think how wise it was to leave Ai in his house.

Normally, his diet is strictly controlled by Ai, and he can't have an extra piece of meat. This time, he can take advantage of Ai's influence to eat well.

After chatting with Ai for a while, Kousuke went out to prepare the ingredients.

As he walked down the street, Guangyou appeared relaxed, humming a little tune, and his steps became increasingly arrogant.

"The wind is quite noisy today."

I spent half a day browsing the market. The freshest items had already been picked up by the aunties and mothers, but thankfully the remaining ones weren't bad either.

Standing in front of the food display case, Guangyou was stunned.

He had intended to prepare a lavish dinner, but suddenly he didn't want to do so.

Guangyou stood in front of the ingredients section for a long time, and then suddenly he sighed.

"Keep it simple."

After buying some simple, everyday ingredients, Guangyou left the market.

On the way back, Guangyou didn't have the same smile he had when he arrived; his face was very calm.

However, it was obvious to anyone that Guangyou wasn't very happy.

Kōyū stopped in front of Professor Agasa's house, forced a smile, and walked in as if nothing had happened.

When they returned to Professor Agasa's house, it was already sunset, and time to prepare dinner.

After telling Ai, I went to prepare the dishes for tonight.

Guangyou's movements were not as fast as before, but rather slow. However, being slow was not a bad thing; Guangyou was putting more effort into this dish.

That's why he didn't notice Ai secretly watching him.

Dinner was ready, and Guangyou and the others were already sitting around the table.

Dr. Agasa couldn't help but swallow hard after smelling the aroma of the food.

"Eat."

Guangyou smiled and said to the group.

He picked up a piece of scrambled eggs with chives with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth.

After taking a bite, Guangyou couldn't help but shake his head slightly: "It still doesn't taste the same."

Professor Agasa seemed to be enjoying his meal immensely, his mouth never stopping for a second.

After dinner, Professor Agasa was forced by Ai Haibara to wash the dishes, because he had eaten the most.

You seem a little unhappy.

Ai looked at Kyou and asked with concern.

"No, I just suddenly started overthinking things."

Kōyū waved his hand, indicating that Ai should not worry.

"I think I tasted something different in your food today."

"Huh? Can you taste the dish soap that I didn't wash the dishes properly?"

Kōyū raised an eyebrow and grinned at Ai.

Ai rolled her eyes at him: "Yeah, how are you going to make it up to me?"

"Would you like me to compensate you?"

"Forget it, no one would want it even if I gave it away."

Ai looked disgusted.

After joking around for a while, Kwangyu prepared to return to his agency.

Stepping outside, Guangyou glanced at the starry sky, shook his head, and muttered to himself that he was being too sentimental.

Not long after he left, Ai, who was sitting on the sofa, suddenly pushed open the door, looked in the direction Kousuke had left, and murmured, "I tasted the flavor of home."

...

Today is the day of the trial for the case against Shinji Usami.

Guangyou and the other two were already seated in the audience.

The atmosphere inside the courtroom was solemn, but the competitive spirit in Reiko Kujo's eyes seemed to ignite like a flame.

For her, defeating Eri Kisaki and ending her winning streak is the primary objective.

The case itself is secondary.

In Kōyū's eyes, this is also one of the reasons why she can't beat Eri Kisaki.

She was always at a disadvantage.

As Eri had predicted, the events that followed were quite surprising to everyone on Eri's side when Reiko Kujo brought in a witness.

"In that case, summon Mr. Kogoro Mouri to appear in court immediately to provide testimony."

Xiaolan panicked a little when she saw this: "How come Dad became the other party's witness?"

"Don't panic, Sister Xiaolan. Take your time, it'll be alright."

Kōyū glanced at Conan, who was smiling beside him, and comforted Ran.
