After Ayumi and the other two left, Kōyū tapped his head: "I can't remember this episode."
After all, he's not a supercomputer that can memorize the contents of all the episodes, and he doesn't have a system.
Otherwise, how could it be like a second-hand fish? The system is too tempting. It can make your brother grow five centimeters taller, and then grow to 180cm, which would be perfect.
Unfortunately, he didn't have a system.
"If there's no problem, then there's no problem. We'll deal with whatever comes our way. Who cares about the numbers? No, I mean the numbers."
Guangyou shook his head, banishing these unrealistic thoughts from his mind.
If he has a system, why hasn't it appeared after all these years? What's the point of having it?
While Kōyū was lost in thought, Conan had already knocked on the door of the next room.
An elderly woman opened the door.
"Grandma, do you know Grandma Omori Shizuka? She seems to have disappeared. Do you know where she went?"
The old woman who opened the door nodded, then shook her head: "Although I've known Jing for a long time, we're not so close that we can talk about everything. After all that's happened, maybe she'll go to a hot spring to clear her head."
Conan didn't explain too much, since the other party had already said that she knew her, but they weren't very close.
"What happened?"
Guangyou leaned over and asked curiously.
The old woman didn't mind and explained, "There used to be an old man named Jiang Qi who lived alone next to the park all these years. A Jing has been going there to take care of his daily life for the past two years."
"Life is unpredictable. About a month ago, I heard that Mr. Ezaki hit his head in the bathtub and died as a result."
"From then on, A-Jing had more time. When Mr. Ezaki was still alive, she would often call him 'Master,' and take him to hot springs every few days. She treated him like a family member."
"Thank you, Grandma. Here, this is for you."
Guangyou took out a small sachet from his pocket. It was a small amulet he had obtained when he returned to China. It wasn't very valuable or hard to get, so he considered it a blessing for the old woman.
The old woman stood frozen at the doorway, looking at the sachet in her hand, and smiled.
Kōyū pulled Conan away from the apartment, leaving Conan completely bewildered.
"No, I haven't finished asking my question yet, why are you pulling me away?"
Conan shook off Mitsuyu's hand and said angrily.
"Why don't we just go to Mr. Ezaki's house and see for ourselves? Why ask so many questions?"
After glancing at Conan, Kōyū walked straight toward the garden.
"Hey, wait for me!"
Conan quickly caught up with Kōyū.
A fat man named Mochizuki Toshio currently lives in Ezaki's house.
This fat man is Ezaki's nephew.
When I arrived at the Ezaki residence, I ran into Mitsuhiko, who had already finished his investigation.
It has to be said that Mitsuhiko is quite efficient; he got it done in no time.
Shizuka Omori wasn't on the list of traffic accidents; Mitsuhiko thought she went to a hot spring in Izu.
But Mitsuyu thought differently. Although he couldn't remember the details of this episode, with Conan present, how could Shizuka Omori be going to a hot spring?
If Conan says there's a problem, then there's basically no need to doubt it; that's the privilege of being the chosen one of the planes.
Mochizuki Toshio was quite polite in letting Kōyū and the others into the house.
Upon hearing that he wanted to ask about Shizuka Omori, his attitude changed instantly.
His face, which had been wearing a fake smile, disappeared after hearing Conan's question, and he became very indifferent.
"The hot springs that my uncle and Aunt Jing often go to, I'm not really sure about that."
Mochizuki Toshio stubbed out his cigarette and leaned back on the sofa.
Guangyou didn't plan to ask any further questions. Judging from his expression, he didn't know either, and even if he did, he wouldn't tell.
"Mr. Mochizuki, could you please confirm that we moved the cabinet out?"
Mochizuki Toshio stood up, walked up to the moving company employee, and said with a smile, "Thank you for your help. The cabinet door can't be opened, but it's all useless stuff inside. You can just throw it away later."
"We will comply. Goodbye."
After seeing the moving company staff off, Mochizuki Toshio turned around and gave Kōyū and the others a fake smile.
"Although I don't know, I think Aunt Jing probably went there to relax. I think she'll be back in a few days."
Conan is curious about everything, or rather, he wants to know everything and doesn't want to miss anything related to the case.
The monkey decorations in the cabinet seem to have nothing to do with the case, but Conan wants to understand everything so that he won't have any unknown conditions when making his deductions.
Of course, this is just Conan. If it were an ordinary person, they might be influenced by clues unrelated to the case.
“These decorations are all from my uncle’s collection.”
Among the many collectibles, one set of three monkeys stands out.
This collectible is called the Three Wise Monkeys, a common image on Japanese shrines.
The three monkeys covered their eyes, ears, and mouths respectively.
The three monkeys represent the idea that one should not look at, listen to, or speak anything improper.
Mochizuki Toshio looked at the three monkeys, pursed his lips, and explained, "It's like advising people not to meddle in other people's business."
Kōyū couldn't be sure who Mochizuki Ryūō was talking about, but he had a feeling that it was about him.
He's the kind of person who responds better to gentle persuasion than force. Of course, he does respond to force occasionally, but it depends on the person—his parents or someone close to him like Ai.
