Chapter 339 The Nightmare in the Bathtub, A Conversation with Kiichiro Numabuchi

Beside the stream, Guangyou and Xiao Ai slowly ate fish, each holding a fish in their hands.

The ingredients are natural, the taste is quite good, the meat is tender, firm and plump, but it's a bit small, you can't fill your mouth with one bite.

After finishing their fish, the two prepared to take the Shinkansen back.

On the way back, Ai was in charge of packing up the tents. The stove that Guangyou had just set up was destroyed, so she stomped out the fire to eliminate any future problems.

"Is everything ready?"

Guangyou looked around, worried that he might leave behind some trash that would pollute the environment.

After confirming, Kōyū picked up the bag containing the tent, and Ai carried the guitar. The two of them walked towards the station together.

The station was still nearly empty, with only one or two white-collar workers in suits carrying briefcases.

About ten minutes later, Guangyou and the other person got into the car.

There are a maximum of five people in a carriage, and the carriage that Guangyou and Xiao Ai were sitting in only had the two of them.

After a one or two-hour drive, we finally returned to Beika Town.

When they took Ai back to Professor Agasa's house, Conan and the others hadn't returned yet.

"Then I'll be going now."

After packing his things, Kwangyu returned to the agency.

Ran and Sonoko went out to play, leaving only Uncle Mori at the agency.

He was still lounging around with his legs crossed, reading the newspaper, while the TV was still on, seemingly waiting for a horse racing program.

After telling Uncle Mori, Kōyū went upstairs to take a bath.

"Comfortable."

Lying in the bathtub, Kwang-woo let out a contented shout, "As expected, taking a bath is really refreshing."

He fell asleep while soaking in the water and had a dream.

In his dream, he didn't come to this world, nor did he have any other opportunities. After entering society, he could only do ordinary jobs.

Earning a fixed salary of four or five thousand a month, he just drifts along, and by his thirties he still hasn't started a family and has accomplished nothing.

Looking at those big shots in the chat group who said that a monthly salary of 70,000 was very low, he silently switched to check his WeChat balance of single digits and his Yu'ebao balance of two digits.

When he returned to the group chat, he saw the big shots discussing their smallest houses, which were 200 square meters, and that's when he suddenly woke up.

"I even had a nightmare."

The water in the bathtub had long since cooled down. Guangyou got up, dried himself off, changed into his pajamas, and prepared to go back to his room to sleep.

He didn't want to step out of the house today, no matter what it was for; the dream had left a deep shadow on him.

Lying on his soft bed, Kwang-woo felt all the muscles in his body relax.

That tent isn't as comfortable as a bed. He needs a good rest today. Tomorrow he'll go find Narumi and have a chat with Numabuchi Kiichiro.

Narumi just sent him a text message saying that Numabuchi Kiichiro has been successfully intercepted and there was no direct violence between him and the police.

I won't go into the details of the method, but I'll need to help some people solve some problems later.

...

The next day after lunch, Guangyou went to the Lavender Bar.

Today is one of the few days off for the bar, and a sign has been hung outside saying it's temporarily closed for the day.

As Kōyū pushed open the door, he immediately saw Sōshi sitting in the booth.

"good afternoon."

Kwang-woo sat opposite Narumi with a smile on his face.

"Sigh, today is a rare day off, and I don't even have time to go shopping."

Cheng Shi frowned, her lips painted with tomato red lipstick looking quite alluring against her snow-white face.

Today, Sung-mi was wearing a close-fitting white cashmere sweater with a talisman on her chest, the one Kwang-yu gave her last time. She wore simple jeans with no other decorations.

"After all, you're the boss."

Guangyou smiled and said, "You also have shares in the bar, so the capable should do more."

Narumi shrugged, her watery eyes fixed on Kōyū. After a while, she parted her cherry lips slightly and said, "Alright, I'm going shopping. You can talk to that Numabuchi Kiichirō."

After saying that, she went to the bar, poured two glasses of juice, placed them in front of Guangyou, and then walked gracefully out of the bar.

Shortly after Cheng Shi left, a man approached.

The man's hair just reached his shoulders, and his forehead and nose were hidden under his thick bangs, revealing his sunken cheekbones.

His lips were so dry they were peeling, and he walked with a hunched back.

No one who sees him would be interested in him at all.

Numabuchi Kiichiro walked very slowly, seemingly oblivious to his surroundings.

He sat down opposite Guangyou, motionless, and asked in an emotionless voice with his head slightly lowered, "A child?"

His voice wasn't actually very pleasant, but it was much better than his appearance.

"You care a lot?"

Guangyou rubbed the glass full of juice in his hand, glancing at the rest of the bar. "If you care, I can make something up."

"No, I don't care who you are at all, I'm just curious." Numabuchi Kiichiro kept his head down, his voice neither happy nor angry. "I just want to know what you want from me?"

Guangyou put down his cup and, without hiding anything, said directly, "I want you to be my trump card in dealing with that organization."

Numabuchi Kiichiro began to tremble all over, like a chick encountering an eagle.

“I don’t want to. I’d rather be arrested by the police and executed.”

After a long time, Kiichiro Numabuchi gave his response.

Guangyou was not surprised by the answer, but he did not give up on the suggestion and persuaded, "You really don't want revenge?"

"I think so, but I know how terrifying that organization is."

Numabuchi Kiichiro's voice wavered, his tone a mixture of fear and hatred.

Guangyou was no exception to this sentiment. He originally thought he had joined the organization, but the organization actually wanted to train him to be a heartless killer.

After his failure, he faced the prospect of conducting human experiments to make the most of his remaining energy.

"The training organized must be tough."

Guangyou leaned back in the booth, crossed his legs, and prepared to play the emotional card. "Since you wanted to see the fireflies from your childhood, and you didn't hurt that child because he also wanted to find fireflies, I think you still have some humanity."

"Perhaps, I remember that scene quite clearly."

Guangyou smiled silently. Sure enough, the appeasement policy worked.

For some people, a direct confrontation is useless; instead, you can outflank them from the side, and by the time they realize what's happening, they're already surrounded.

Guangyou thought to himself, "Could this be considered a different kind of 'surrounding the cities from the countryside' strategy?"

Coming to his senses, Kōyū looked at Numabaki Kiichirō, waiting for him to take the initiative to describe the scene in his mind.

For the first time, Numabuchi Kiichiro raised his head. His bangs were plastered to his forehead, and through the gaps between them, one could see his sunken eye sockets and sparse eyebrows.

A picture of Numabuchi Kiichiro quickly appeared in Guangyou's mind: long hair, sparse eyebrows, deep-set eyes, upturned nostrils, and sunken cheekbones. If he were to give him a score, three points would be considered generous.

However, Guangyou didn't care about his appearance, but rather his skills and usefulness.
