Chapter 341 Shared Goal with Kaito: The Gem in the Hands of the Bandit Gang

This question lingered in his mind for only a moment before he dismissed it. In any case, what Hiroki gave him shouldn't be stolen goods.

"How about we go find that Kaito guy?"

Guangyou stroked his chin and pondered for a moment, then took out the jade and took a few photos, even taking one of the jade against the moonlight.

After taking the photos, he put the jade into the jewelry box, and then put the CD and jewelry box back into the metal box and placed it in a conspicuous position on his desk.

Conan, half-sitting on the bed, asked curiously, "What's in that package?"

"It's nothing, just some small gifts that someone sent me."

Guangyou calmly turned off the light and went back to his own bed.

...

11:30 a.m. the next day

After saying hello to Uncle Mori, Kōyū went to Ekoda alone.

Ekoda is located in Nakano Ward, Tokyo, and you can get there quickly by Shinkansen.

I chatted with Ai Haibara on the Shinkansen, talking about things that others might find boring.

After leaving the station, Kōyū went straight to Kaitō's place.

There haven't been any famous gems appearing lately, so Kaito should either stay home and be a shut-in, or go out shopping with Aoko.

Before coming, Guangyou sent him a message to confirm that he was at home today before choosing to set off.

He wouldn't just go out like an idiot and stand in front of someone's door waiting for them to come back.

That would be such a waste of time.

When the doorbell rang, Kaito's weary voice came through.

"Who is it? So early. Don't you know you should be sleeping?"

Guangyou glanced at his watch; the hour hand was pointing to 12. He then looked up and said, "It's me, and it's already 12 o'clock."

"Then wait a moment."

After waiting at the door for a few minutes, Kaito opened the door for Kōyū.

"What do you want from me?"

Kaito covered his mouth and yawned, a tear still clinging to his eye. "Never mind, let's come in."

Following Kaito into his house, Kaito poured a glass of water and placed it in front of Kōyū: "This is all we have, make do with this."

"I just wanted to ask if you recognize this gemstone."

Kōyū took out the photo and handed it to Kaito.

Kaito took the photos and examined them carefully, one by one.

Finally, he shook his head: "Never seen this before. Where did you get it? This thing is very expensive."

"It was a gift from someone else."

Kōyū took the photo and casually put it in his pocket. He looked up at Kaito, who had very dark circles under his eyes, with great interest and asked curiously, "What did you do yesterday? Your dark circles are so heavy."

Kaito yawned again, complaining, "It's all because Aoko made me go shopping with her yesterday, and then I didn't get home until 11 or 12 at night. My house was burgled, and it took me a while to catch up with the burglars."

"So a thief has broken into Phantom Thief Kid's house?"

Guangyou couldn't help but laugh out loud, "He can brag about this for a year."

Kaito poured himself a glass of milk and grabbed a few pieces of bread for breakfast.

Seeing Kaito's reluctant expression, Kōyū asked, "Where's Aoko? Didn't she prepare breakfast for you?"

"Her?" Kaito took a big bite of his toast. "She's probably out with her friends."

"By the way, are you free in a couple of days?"

Kaito wiped the milk stains from his mouth. "I have a mission, but it might be dangerous for me to go alone."

Guangyou raised an eyebrow, not immediately agreeing: "What mission?"

"What else could it be? Just stealing a gem." Kaito got up and walked towards his room. "Wait a moment, I'll go get the documents."

Two minutes later, Kaito came back with a piece of paper covered in writing and handed it to Kōyū.

After receiving the so-called documents, Guangyou quickly glanced at them.

"This gem is in the hands of the bandits."

A hint of reluctance appeared on Guangyou's face. "This is so troublesome."

"It's no trouble at all. Besides, you're just going there to keep watch in case anything happens."

Suddenly, Guangyou felt his phone vibrate. He took it out and saw that it was a text message.

The text message was sent by Cheng Shi, and its content can be summarized into two points.

First, Numabuchi Kiichiro agreed to the request. He is currently working as a bouncer at the bar, and he doesn't go out much. He doesn't receive a salary, but he is provided with food and lodging.

Secondly, the other side has already informed Narumi that, as a condition for granting probation to Numabuchi Kiichiro, Mitsuyu needs to deal with an international gang of thieves operating within Japan.

There are also some requests that the other party didn't mention, only saying that they would notify you in a day or two.

Guangyou didn't feel any surprise at the first point; it was expected and reasonable.

The mention of the bandit gang surprised Guangyou, because in addition to the two messages, the text message also contained information about the bandit gang.

And this band of robbers happens to be the very group that Kaito needs to steal the jewels from.

Those people didn't provide much information, not because they didn't have any, but because they did it intentionally.

They also wanted to get a feel for Guangyou's situation so they could make a plan.

"These people..." Guangyou shook his head, his opinion of them dropping considerably. He decided it was best to avoid contact with them unless absolutely necessary.

He is an innocent child; he will be corrupted if he spends too much time with those people.

"Think about it?" Kaito rubbed his hands together and smiled. "I'm just worried about things going wrong, so I won't let you come all this way for nothing."

"Alright, seeing how sincere you are, I'll agree."

Guangyou waved his hand, concealing the fact that he also had to deal with the bandit gang, and looked like he was only reluctantly agreeing because of Guangyou's condition.

"Thanks. By the way, have you had lunch?"
