Chapter 350 Hiding His Identity at the Clinic, the Doctor's True Identity

Guangyou deliberately concealed his true purpose.

Tamura was very happy to hear this, and he even went to his room to get a piece of candy for Kōyū.

After a quick check-up, Tamura said to Mitsuyu, "Little friend, you're fine. You've probably just caught a chill. I'll make you some cold medicine later, and you should be alright after that."

"Dr. Tamura, how much will it cost?"

Guangyou reached into his pocket, trying to take out some coins. It was just a cup of cold medicine; it shouldn't be that expensive.

Tamura frowned, waved his hand, and said, "It's just a cup of cold medicine, you don't need to pay. You can use this money to buy some candy."

As he spoke, he got up to prepare cold medicine for Guangyou.

After drinking the cold medicine, Guangyou thanked them and left the clinic.

...

Tamura watched Kōyū's departing figure, a hint of loneliness in his eyes. He picked up a photo frame from the table and stroked it with his wrinkled hand.

He was about to say something when the clinic's landline rang.

"Hello, this is Hiruko-cho Clinic. I am Kimiyama Tamura."

A mature-sounding female voice came through the phone: "Hello Dr. Tamura, I'd like to ask if you have a child named Koichi with you."

"May I ask who you are?"

“I am her mother. I have seen a doctor at your clinic before. The child just said he was dizzy, and I couldn’t get away from here, so I asked him to go find you first.”

Tamura nodded knowingly, without suspecting the person on the phone.

This place is both small and large, and not everyone remembers it so clearly.

Tamura assumed the woman on the phone was asking about the child's health, so he replied directly, "He just got back. He probably just caught a cold. I gave him some cold medicine, so he should be fine."

"No, it's not like that. His father and I are both tied up with work, so could we ask the child to stay at your place for the night?"

The woman on the phone, afraid that Tamura would refuse, quickly said, "Of course, I'll give you some money when I get back."

"Money is no object, it's a small matter. I'll go find him right now."

After saying that, he smiled slightly, quickly got up, and strode out of the clinic.

Looking around, he spotted Kouyu looking at a gashapon machine next to a shop on the street and called out, "Kouichi!"

Guangyou didn't react at first, but by the time he did, Tamura had already walked up to him and squatted down.

Tamura smiled and explained, "Koichi, your parents said they're busy with work and asked me to take care of you for the night."

"Thank you, Uncle Tamura."

He didn't notice the change in how Guangyou addressed him and responded with a smile.

The woman was obviously Guangyou in disguise; her phone number was written on the clinic's sign.

The incident happens tomorrow, so I can stay at the clinic tonight.

He had just observed that the clinic had two floors, and the upper floor was probably Tamura's residence.

Dinner was cooked by Tamura; a few simple home-style dishes. The taste wasn't great, but it was enough.

Guangyou wanted to learn more about the factory, and an afternoon had allowed him to recall the case.

The case didn't go into details about the factory, but he was just curious to know. After all, there were still more than ten hours until they arrived tomorrow, and he couldn't just not find something to do to pass the time.

From the case, Kwang-woo learned that the factory had driven someone to their death. Kwang-woo knew that an adult wouldn't tell a child such things.

During the meal, Kōyū tried everything he could to get Tamura slightly drunk.

Guangyou put down his chopsticks and asked curiously, "Uncle Tamura, did you plant that patch of sunflowers next to the clinic?"

"No, it was planted by a little girl named Yuanzi."

Tamura took a sip of sake, his cheeks flushed with a drunken blush.

Strangely enough, Tamura doesn't drink shochu or sake, but he drinks baijiu instead.

It's not that no one in Japan drinks it, it's just that there's too little of it and they're not used to it.

In Tamura's house, all that could be seen were various kinds of liquor, including a bottle of Moutai.

The bottle of Moutai was placed on a pear wood cabinet, and the packaging was in perfect condition.

Seeing that the topic had been brought up, Guangyou asked, "Yuanzi?"

"She was an employee at the factory next door, but that was a long time ago."

Tamura's speech was already a bit slurred, but he was still quite lucid. "The factory next door was doing pretty well ten years ago, but it gradually went downhill after that incident."

Tamura suddenly changed the subject, saying, "However, these are things that a child like you shouldn't know."

Guangyou wasn't in a hurry. He got up, told him something, and then went to wash up.

After Guangyou left, Tamura supported himself with his hands and got up to walk downstairs.

He went to the desk, turned on the lamp, and picked up the photo frame.

After drinking, I found it difficult to control my emotions, and feelings that I usually kept hidden in my heart gradually came to the fore.

"It's been a long time, no, we've met a few times..."

The man's sigh echoed in the room.

He didn't notice that there was a child leaning against the corner of the stairs.

"The photos... we'll take a look later..."

As Guangyou pondered this, he went upstairs, this time genuinely going to wash up.

The next morning, Kōyū woke up on the bed that Tamura had made.

After changing his clothes, he went straight downstairs. Tamura had been drinking last night, so he didn't get up that early today.

Guangyou picked up the photo frame on the table. The photo inside showed a woman holding the hand of a boy who looked about fifteen or sixteen years old.

The photos that men care about most are of their family members. The woman in the photo might be Tamura's wife, and the boy might be Tamura's son.

Based on the night that Kuang-yu stayed here, there was no indication that anyone else lived here.

All the details suggest that Tamura is the only one here. This could mean either that Tamura is divorced, or that the people mentioned above are no longer here...

Guangyou himself leans more towards the second option, but there's nothing to prove it right now.

After putting down the photo frame, Guangyou was about to walk outside to buy breakfast when he suddenly noticed a document on the table with Cheng Zengjian's name on it.

"I remember, this is that congressman."

Guangyou looked around, opened the file bag, and randomly pulled out a sheet. He found that the sheets were filled with all sorts of news about Cheng Zengjian.

It's just those bad things he did and the evidence he left behind.

What puzzled Guangyou was what deep-seated grudge could exist between a doctor at a small clinic and a member of parliament.

It wasn't until Guangyou returned with breakfast that he began to understand this.

After buying breakfast, Guangyou passed by the desk and his gaze unconsciously drifted to the photo frame on the desk.

Guangyou suddenly realized something, stopped in his tracks, put the breakfast aside, picked up the file bag, and took out all the documents inside, looking at them one by one.

Upon seeing one of the photos, Kwang-woo's lips curled into a smile: "I see."
