"Make sure you get some rest tonight, don't stay up too late."
Kōyū reached out and tucked a stray strand of hair behind Ai's ear, smiling slightly. "I have something to do now, so I'll be going now."
"Okay." Ai nodded obediently, her eyes revealing joy, and said with concern, "Be careful on the road."
Guangyou nodded, agreed, and turned to leave. As soon as he turned around, he pursed his lips and looked like a deep pool in his eyes.
...
On a pedestrian bridge in Tokyo, a man leaned against the railing, a venomous smile playing on his lips.
The man's long hair covered his ears, was messy and unwashed, and even reflected an oily sheen.
His face was sallow, and his eyes were deeply sunken, his gaze like that of a walking corpse, only flashing a glimmer of light when he saw a police car passing by under the overpass.
However, this glimmer of light quickly disappeared, and he returned to his original state.
He wore black-rimmed glasses over his hooked nose, and two deep lines around his mouth when he smiled, indicating that the man was not young.
The clothes were a style that was popular three or four years ago. I don't know when he last washed his clothes. The clothes had an unpleasant smell, so it's no wonder that the passersby around him covered their noses and walked away.
I don't know when it started, but the number of people on the overpass gradually decreased until it was completely empty.
The man seemed oblivious. Just as he was about to turn and leave, he caught a glimpse of a figure in a black robe on his left.
"It's you, isn't it?" Guangyou's face, hidden beneath his robe, remained calm as he deliberately altered his voice, saying, "Once I've got you under control, tomorrow's lousy performance should end early."
The man paused for a moment, then suddenly burst into laughter.
His voice was unpleasant, like two pieces of iron rubbing against each other, or like a blower with a hole in it, making it very unpleasant to listen to.
"No, no, no, it would be a shame to end it now." The man raised his head and opened his arms, feeling as if he possessed the world. "If you kill me now, that will only be the beginning."
Guangyou's expression turned serious, and a bad feeling suddenly arose in his heart. He asked, "What do you mean?"
“I’m afraid of running into someone like you who has nothing better to do than meddle in other people’s business, so I took some small measures.”
The man spoke casually, as if he were talking about something trivial: “If I were to die right now, or if I felt I was in danger, I would detonate dozens of bombs hidden in Tokyo.”
Guangyou said calmly, "They're very impressive, so what?"
The man was clearly taken aback for a moment, but quickly recovered, shrugged, and said, "Let me tell you, this time, in order to avoid having annoying people like you interrupt the fireworks display, I also prepared a gift for them."
“My target is the police, but if you push me too far, I’m really going to do something really serious.”
The man's lips curled into a strange smile. "Take the recently famous Sleeping Kogoro, for example, and the legal world's queen, Attorney Kisaki. If you disturb me, they might..."
As the man spoke, he made an explosion gesture with his hand: "BOOM!"
"Of course, it's not just them. Famous lawyers and detectives are also on my list. Besides them, I remember there's someone called Professor Agasa. He seems to have also developed bombs?"
The man looked at Guangyou with a mocking gaze. He didn't care what kind of face was under the robe in front of him, since it wouldn't affect his plan anyway. "Since I've already done it, I don't mind doing more. In order to ensure the perfect execution of my plan, I have to resort to some extreme measures."
He believed he hadn't provoked any organizations he shouldn't have, and this short man in front of him was probably the so-called "righteous person."
But will these "righteous people" really see those innocent people die?
He thought it was unlikely; he had many ways to deal with such "righteous people."
Upon hearing these words, Guangyou showed no outward sign of distress, remaining standing there as still as a pillar, but inwardly he was burning with rage.
Seeing Guangyou, who hadn't moved for a long time, the man chuckled, a triumphant smile in his eyes: "People like you are such a nuisance."
The man shook his head, then pulled out a gun from his pocket and pointed it at Guangyou. The gun was equipped with a silencer, and given the almost deserted surroundings, it wouldn't be easy to be detected even if he fired.
Guangyou's eyes narrowed. He could easily dodge the gun if he focused his mind. After dodging the gun, he could quickly subdue the kid in front of him.
The man seemed to remember something and added, "Oh, right, if I'm injured or die, then the bomb will explode."
Guangyou's heart sank, his eyes hidden beneath his robe were sharp, but no matter how powerful he was, he had to make a choice now: either subdue the man opposite him and detonate the bomb, or he would be in danger and his life would be in unknown hands.
Seemingly finding it too simplistic, he spoke arrogantly: "You're going to see the fireworks display tomorrow, so I won't kill you. But you'd better leave something behind, or you'll keep meddling in other people's business."
No sooner had he finished speaking than he decisively fired a shot into Guangyou's chest. The bullet whistled through the air as if it were tearing it apart, its momentum fierce.
The next second, Guangyou felt a pain in his chest, a sweet taste in his throat, and a hot stream that wanted to burst out of his throat.
He forcefully suppressed the blood, but a trickle of blood still flowed from the corner of his mouth.
He staggered back two steps from the gunshot, but quickly regained his balance.
Seeing this, the man tilted his head back and chuckled twice. He put away his gun and said to Guangyou earnestly, "Remember, there are some things that are not your business. Just focus on recovering from your injury. The fireworks display tomorrow will be spectacular."
After saying that, he turned around and walked off the overpass.
Guangyou's brows were furrowed, and the waves of pain in his chest kept him extremely conscious.
He vaguely heard a metallic clanging sound just now, but this was clearly not the place for self-examination.
He took a step, walked down the overpass, turned around and entered an alley, heading in one direction.
After a long while, Guangyou looked at the brightly lit apartment in front of him, his tense nerves relaxed, and his breathing became a little rapid. After ringing the doorbell, he leaned against the wall and slumped to the ground.
The pain in his chest lessened slightly. In the past, he could have endured this kind of pain, but now his body was still struggling.
The door opened quickly, and a tall woman with straight black hair walked out.
The woman soon spotted Guangyou leaning against the wall.
"Kuangyou, what's wrong?"
A look of nervousness crossed Akemi's face. She quickly reached out and helped Kwang-yoo up. After looking around to make sure no one had witnessed what had happened, she helped Kwang-yoo into the apartment.
Guangyou was helped to the sofa. Sitting on the soft sofa, feeling the warmth of the apartment, his nerves completely relaxed.
Akemi sat down next to Kōyū with a first-aid kit, holding tools as she asked with concern, "Kōyū, what happened to you?"
Guangyou shook his head with a wry smile and said, "I'll tell you later. This time, we almost capsized in a ditch."
