Guangyou unbuttoned his robe, looked down, and breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, he habitually wore a bulletproof vest under his robe, and this time the vest saved his life.
After taking off his bulletproof vest and inner shirt, Kōyū saw that the tag Ai had given him was deformed by the bullet. He guessed that the tag had mitigated some of the impact, and he probably wouldn't be able to wear it anymore. Kōyū went back to find a box or something to keep it as a keepsake.
Body armor is useful, but it can't make Guangyou completely immune to bullets. Otherwise, on the battlefield, soldiers could just wrap themselves in body armor, grab a gun, and charge in and start shooting.
But it's not that simple; body armor only reduces the damage caused by bullets.
The impact of a bullet at close range is no joke. Guangyou felt that he had suffered some internal injuries, but he should be able to recover after a period of rest.
The area that was hit was already a bruise, and even a bit purple.
A light touch on the bruise sent waves of pain through Guangyou, a sensation that was truly excruciating.
After resting for a while, Guangyou felt much better.
Mingmei applied a little ointment to Guangyou's bruise with a cotton swab.
Her movements were gentle, but the pain from touching that bruise was excruciating for Kwang-woo.
My skin is still so delicate, there's nothing I can do about it.
After Guangyou recounted what had just happened to Mingmei, Mingmei raised her eyebrows and suddenly increased the pressure of applying the ointment.
"hiss..."
The sudden increase in pain made Guangyou gasp. He turned his head to look at Mingmei and asked with a wronged expression, "Mingmei-neechan, what are you doing?"
"This time it's for Shiho."
Akemi loosened her grip and said earnestly, "If something really happens to you, Shiho will be heartbroken."
"I just didn't expect that man to be such a complete idiot."
Guangyou awkwardly scratched his head and said with a smile, "My mistake, my mistake."
The next second, the smile gradually twisted, and Guangyou's eyes rolled upward, with the whites of his eyes taking up most of the space.
"Awoo..."
Guangyou quickly apologized: "I was wrong, I was wrong. I shouldn't have done something so dangerous without being prepared!"
Hearing this, Mingmei nodded in satisfaction, her grip loosening considerably: "That's more like it."
Guangyou smiled on the outside but cursed inwardly, so he decided to silently remember what happened to him and blame it on that man.
After applying the ointment, the bruised skin felt cool in addition to the pain, which relieved most of the pain and made Guangyou feel very comfortable.
Leaning back on the sofa, Guangyou closed his eyes and let out a long sigh: "Tonight is destined to be a sleepless night."
...
"Hmm~"
Xiao Ai sat on the sofa humming a tune, flipping through fashion magazines, occasionally picking up a steaming glass of milk from the coffee table and taking a small sip.
Suddenly, Xiao Ai frowned. For some reason, she felt irritable. She couldn't concentrate on reading fashion magazines, and she didn't want to drink milk anymore.
Ai got up and looked around. There was no one else besides her, which puzzled her: "What's with this feeling?"
This feeling came out of nowhere, and she had no idea why.
Thinking it was just her imagination, Ai sat down again, intending to continue reading the magazine, but as soon as she picked it up, she lost interest. All she wanted to know was where that feeling came from.
Ai leaned back on the sofa, placing a hand on her smooth forehead, and closed her eyes.
"Could something have happened to him?"
After a while, Ai sat up, took out her phone and sent a message to Guangyou.
...
As Guangyou was resting on the sofa, he felt a vibration in his pocket and reached out to take out his phone.
When he discovered it was Ai's text message, Kōyū perked up a little.
Upon opening the link, Guangyou shook his head and sighed, marveling at how amazing a woman's intuition could sometimes be; he had to admit defeat.
After letting Ai know he was safe, Kōyū continued to rest with his eyes closed on the sofa.
Half an hour later, Guangyou opened his eyes, sat up from the sofa, put on his clothes and put his robe back on, and said to Mingmei in the bedroom, "Mingmei, I'm leaving now."
Akemi's slightly scolding and threatening response came through the door: "Remember to be careful. If you do this again, I'll tell Shiho and she'll teach you a lesson."
Kwang-woo felt a warmth in his heart; it felt wonderful to be cared for...
After making a promise to Mingmei, he left the apartment.
He definitely won't be able to sleep tonight; he has to go and defuse the bomb.
From that simple-minded statement, we can infer that the bombs were planted in the homes of those who might interfere with his plans.
While her home address might be unknown, lawyer Eri Kisaki has her own firm, and these addresses are not secretive; if a bomb were to be planted, it would probably be placed there.
After setting his goal, Kōyū prepared to go to Eri Kisaki's law firm.
...
A person dressed in a black robe moved through the alley, muttering cryptic words: "It's really troublesome not having shared bikes."
...
The law firm of Eri Kisaki was empty. Kōyū was walking around the room with a strange little device in his hand.
"Beep beep beep beep!"
The beeping sound from the machine suddenly increased in frequency, and Guangyou was overjoyed.
He had just bought this thing from some undisclosed place; its main purpose was to detect bombs. The machine's reaction indicated that the bomb was already within a few steps of him.
