Chapter 41 Ayumi's Little Thoughts

"Wow! These pieces are arranged so beautifully!" Ayumi leaned against the window, looking at the chessboard in the yard.

Conan looked at the chessboard he had drawn in his notebook, sat cross-legged on the ground, and pondered the meaning the chessboard represented.

Conan, biting his pen, looked at Kouyu beside him and asked, "Kouyu, do you know what this means?"

Guangyou blinked: "I don't know. I'm just here to observe. Aren't you in charge of these things?"

Seeing that he couldn't count on Kousuke, Conan shook his head and continued to ponder.

At that moment, Ayumi's scream interrupted Conan: "What are you two doing! Don't you know you're going to fall?"

Looking out the window, Genta was already leaning against the window, struggling to stay upright with only Mitsuhiko and his upper body.

Conan rushed to the next room, and Genta finally managed to climb back into his room.

Yuan Tai slumped to the ground, panting, still feeling lingering fear from what had just happened.

Seeing that Genta was alright, Conan braced himself against the wall, and then a puzzled look appeared on his face, as if he had thought of something.

Conan walked along, tapping on the wall as he went.

"Knock knock"

Conan looked at the wall, then glanced up at the clock on it, a smile playing on his lips.

"ah!"

Meanwhile, Kousuke was chatting with Ai in the next room. Although Kousuke did most of the talking, Ai did respond, which made Kousuke quite happy.

Genta, from the next room, pointed to the books scattered on the floor and said, "Why are there books here? Where's Conan?"

Kōyū suddenly stopped what he was talking about and said with some confusion, "Why did I hear Conan's voice?"

Ai shook her head: "I didn't hear that, you must have misheard."

Guangyou said definitively, "I must have misheard!"

In Kōyū's mind, he was thinking: Conan or Ai, I'd definitely choose Ai! As for Conan, he won't die anyway.

Conan looked around at the dark passageway, a cold sweat trickling down his face: "As expected, this castle is no ordinary place!"

Conan turned on the flashlight on his watch and walked deeper into the secret passage. As he followed the stairs in the passage, Conan's foot stepped on something.

When the flashlight was shone forward, what Conan saw made his pupils shrink.

It was clearly a skeleton, with its mouth open and white hair. Conan felt a sense of unease emanating from the skeleton.

Suddenly, Conan felt a chill run down his spine. Before he could turn around, he groaned and collapsed to the ground.

Genta looked around and found that Conan was not nearby, so he told Ayumi, Ai, and Kouyu in the next room.

Guangyou waved his hand: "Don't worry about that brat, he'll come out on his own later."

Ayumi actually had a crush on Conan ever since he arrived. Between Conan and Kouyu, Kouyu was obviously more handsome, but Conan's confidence and mysterious aura deeply attracted Ayumi.

Ayumi was a little unhappy when she heard Kousuke call Conan a brat: "Kousuke-kun, aren't you a brat too? Why are you saying that about Conan!"

Kōyū sighed and apologized. Only after hearing the apology did Ayumi let Kōyū go.

Ai teased, "You actually got lectured by a child."

Guangyou shrugged, indicating that he was also helpless.

Ai glanced at the room where Genta had just been, her eyes drawn to the chair, books, and the open clock on the floor.

Since there were doubts, she had to try to find the answers. Ai walked over, picked up the chair, stacked the books on it, and just as she climbed up, Takato Mamiya walked to the door of the room: "How could you do such a mess?"

As he spoke, the nobleman stepped forward, picked up the book, and placed it aside.

Accompanying Noble Mamiya was the gardener Katsuo Tabata, and of course, Professor Agasa.

Upon hearing the benefactor's question, Dr. Agasa asked, "What did these children do?"

The important person said nonchalantly, "It's nothing, just a prank."

"It's not a prank! We've been looking for Conan everywhere because he's gone missing!" Ayumi shouted at Professor Agasa.

Katsuo Tabata pointed to the floor: "They probably went to the toilet! The toilet is on the floor below."

Since someone was missing, they naturally had to search for them. The three adults headed towards the stairs to go downstairs and check where Conan was.

Kōyū noticed someone tapping him on the shoulder. He turned around and saw Ai pointing at the clock: "That clock seems to be faulty."

Guangyou nodded: "There's no rush now, let's wait until tonight."

Ai didn't say anything, but her actions showed that she agreed with Kousuke's statement.

The three of them went to the restroom but didn't find Conan. Genta, who was standing next to them, said, "Is Conan trying to hide and scare us?"

Mitsuhiko laughed and said, "That's very possible! Conan is still quite childish!"

The three of them laughed at the same time when they mentioned this.

When Professor Agasa overheard this, he looked at the three people engrossed in their own world and his lips twitched: "Aren't you all children yourselves...?"

"Young sir, dinner is ready!" a servant said as he approached the group.

The nobleman looked at everyone and said kindly, "Come on, I've also prepared dinner for you."

Ayumi was a little worried because she couldn't find Conan: "But we still haven't found Conan!"

Takato Mamiya smiled and said, "It's alright, Conan will come out when he gets hungry."

Hearing this, everyone went to the restaurant for dinner.

Looking at the feast on the table, Guangyou wiped away non-existent drool and said, "I'm going to dig in!"

With the host's nod, Kōyū began to devour the entire dining table. Although he was fast, he appeared quite elegant, displaying both manners and speed. This made Mitsuru Mamiya slightly open his mouth, but he quickly smiled and said, "Being able to eat is a blessing!"
