Chapter 451 A Brief Conversation with Shuichi

Shuichi Akai had a cigarette dangling from his mouth, his cold face expressionless, with a few strands of hair peeking out from his black knit hat and fluttering in the air.

A wisp of smoke rose slowly as Shuichi Akai's gaze lingered on Ran's tear-streaked face. He asked softly, "Why are you crying again?"

Seeing that Ran didn't react, Shuichi Akai continued in his calm tone, "Why are you always crying?"

Xiaolan's tone wasn't very friendly: "Is it not okay?"

"no."

Shuichi Akai looked at Ran's serious face, closed his eyes, put his hands in his pockets, and walked towards the three of them. "I just suddenly thought of a woman who looks a lot like you."

She appeared calm on the surface, but secretly cried behind the scenes.

Shuichi Akai's expression finally changed; a self-deprecating smile appeared on his lips. "She's such a silly woman."

As he passed Kwang-yu, Kwang-yu asked in a low voice, "So, did you protect that silly woman?"

Shuichi Akai's steps froze in mid-air at those words.

He stood still, glanced back at Guangyou, then quickly turned back and said calmly, "No."

After saying that, he took a deep drag on his cigarette, then exhaled an even thicker cloud of smoke, and strode away into the distance. He muttered to himself in a low voice, "That was the worst defeat I ever suffered."

Upon hearing this answer, Kōyū also smiled, a hint of relief in his expression: "That silly girl's wait wasn't in vain."

"Sister Xiaolan, do you know him?"

Conan recalled the keywords from earlier and was also a little puzzled as to how Ran had come to know this man.

If it were an ordinary person, it wouldn't matter, but he had seen this person several times, and he strongly suspected that this person was related to the organization.

"I guess you could say we know each other; we've met before."

Ran looked at Conan and explained, "I met him when I went to New York with Shinichi."

"I was waiting for Shinichi in front of an abandoned building when this man walked over."

Xiaolan recalled the scene and said, "As soon as he came over, he asked me if I had seen a Japanese man with long silver hair and a full beard."

“But I don’t think he’s a bad person,” Xiaolan continued. “The person who came with him was wearing a jacket with the FBI logo on it.”

Upon hearing this news, Conan felt less tense, but his doubts grew stronger. He thought to himself, "What are the FBI doing here? Aren't they the Federal Bureau of Investigation?"

He turned his head to look in the direction Akai Shuichi had left, then glanced at Kōyū, who had a strange smile on his face. He wished he could question Kōyū right now about whether he was hiding anything from him.

"Kuangyou, what did you just ask him?"

Xiaolan looked at Guangyou, her tone full of doubt, "He seemed a bit emotional, and he was talking about what he called the worst defeat ever..."

"It's nothing."

Guangyou scratched his head and gave Xiaolan a bright smile. "Let's go home."

"Okay." Ran nodded, took Conan's hand again, and asked with a smile, "Do you two want fried rice or beef noodles? I'll make it when I get back."

Kōyū thought for a moment, then tentatively looked at Ran and asked, "I want to go to the professor's house. Ai said she hasn't had dinner yet, and she wants me to..."

Before he could finish speaking, Xiaolan smiled. She nodded, waved the sandwich in her hand, and said with a smile, "Okay, when you go to find Xiao Ai later, remember to tell her thank you for me. Her sandwiches are really delicious."

"I want to go too!" Conan raised his other hand and said, "The professor and I made a promise to play video games today!"

Ran immediately stopped smiling, looked at Conan who was smiling, thought for a moment, and then nodded: "Okay, you two be careful when you go to Dr. Agasa's house, it's already dark."

The two said in unison, "Thank you, Sister Xiaolan!"

...

"Are you hiding something from me?"

On the way to Dr. Agasa's house, Conan looked at Mitsuyu with suspicion in his eyes, "Do you know that man who might have been an FBI agent just now?"

Guangyou didn't hide anything and nodded generously: "I do know him, and he is indeed an FBI agent. You don't need to doubt that."

Why did he come to Japan?

Conan followed up with another question, "Isn't he from the FBI? When did he get involved in Japan?"

Guangyou glanced around to make sure no one was there, then said, "Our goal is basically the same; it's also an organization."

Conan breathed a sigh of relief, his expression relaxing somewhat. Since it was the FBI and the target was the organization, they probably wouldn't cause any trouble.

"What else do you know?"

For some reason, Conan felt that there were still some things that Mitsuyu hadn't told him.

"Hehe."

Guangyou smiled mysteriously, "I don't actually know much else. The only little bit I do know is gossip. Do you want to hear it?"

"never mind."

Conan felt bored. He wasn't the kind of person like Mitsuyu who loved gossip, and now wasn't the time for gossip. So he waved his hand and said, "Go to Dr. Agasa's house. I've already copied the disk. Hopefully, this disk contains more information about the organization."

"I don't care, it's enough that you're watching."

Guangyou shrugged, not really caring about the disk. "Compared to this, I'd rather go make that girl a bowl of noodles."

"cut."

Conan scoffed, his eyes filled with disdain. "You really know how to shift the blame onto me."
