In the photo, Ai looks like a docile kitten, but only in front of him.
"Tsk, that's nice."
Guangyou felt that he would never get tired of looking at the photos, no matter how many times he looked at them. Even if he was asked to sit on the side and look at the photos, he could just keep looking at them all day long.
"You can go take a shower now."
Ai let go of his hand and said to Kousuke with disgust, "I asked my sister to put all your clothes in the bathroom for you. Hurry up and take a shower and change your clothes, you're filthy."
Guangyou raised an eyebrow and chuckled helplessly. He had just said he didn't mind, but after taking the picture, this is what happened.
Tsk tsk, fickle woman...
But why does it hurt his heart so much?
After sighing, Kōyū handed the camera to Ai and went straight into the bathroom.
The showerhead sprayed warm water, which flowed slowly down Guangyou's body, washing away not only the grime on his body but also some of his mental fatigue.
Yesterday I was traveling around a lot. Although I saved a lot of energy by taking a car, I still walked quite a distance.
This amount of exercise wasn't tiring, and Guangyou himself didn't feel it. However, after rinsing with hot water, he felt that all the muscles in his body seemed to relax a lot.
Despite his initial energy, he felt drowsy after being rinsed with hot water and couldn't help but yawn.
"Let's soak for a while."
Guangyou turned off the shower, reached out and turned on the bathtub faucet, tested the water temperature, and then waited to soak in the bathtub.
No matter how small a house is in Japan, there will always be a bathtub in the bathroom, even if the bathtub can barely fit one person.
Seeing that the water was almost ready, Guangyou lay down in the bathtub, put a towel under his neck, and closed his eyes to rest.
With the help of hot water, he quickly fell into a light sleep.
...
"Sister, could you tell me about what Guangyou has been doing these past two days?"
Ai sat on the sofa and looked at Akemi, wanting to know the details of what had happened.
Akemi glanced at the bathroom door, and seeing no movement, turned back to Ai and said, "That day he suddenly came to me and said that Girls' Day was coming soon and he wanted you to celebrate like a normal girl."
Ai Haibara then remembered what Kousuke had said to her, "I'll spend every holiday with you from now on," and smiled, asking, "And then?"
"Don't rush, let me explain slowly."
Akemi rolled her eyes at Ai playfully and continued, "I only remember that many years ago, the school organized an event, and I buried all these dolls under a cherry blossom tree."
"All I remember is that the cherry blossom tree had a natural hole in it, and that the tree was located near Tokyo."
Akemi still marvels at how Guangyou managed to find the dolls, saying, "Then he brought all the dolls over early the next morning."
Upon hearing Akemi's account, Ai frowned and asked, "Is this all the clues you have?"
"yes."
Mingmei nodded, her expression clearly showing her disbelief. "I really didn't expect him to be able to find these."
"He found that cherry blossom tree, which was nowhere to be found, based on just this one clue...?"
Ai Haibara knew without a doubt how difficult this was. There were tens of thousands of cherry blossom trees in Tokyo, and even with the natural tree hollows as a prerequisite, the difficulty was not reduced much.
After all, how do you know that the tree is still in the same place and hasn't been moved? Even if it hasn't, how do you know if the things underground have been taken away?
Everything was uncertain, but Guangyou went ahead and did it without hesitation. Success or failure became secondary; what mattered was his determination.
"He probably visited every cherry blossom grove in Tokyo."
Ai imagined Kōyū traveling back and forth across Tokyo, just to find a cherry blossom tree whose very existence was uncertain, as well as these dolls from many years ago.
After doing all this, he didn't go into details, but simply brushed it off with an attitude of "it's actually very simple," without any intention of taking credit from her.
"How stupid."
Ai smiled, but her eyebrows were slightly furrowed, and she said softly, "Actually, I would be happy even if he just bought one, but I wouldn't mind if he didn't."
"That's what I told him too. After all, the gift doesn't matter; the thought is what matters most."
After listening to Ai's words, Akemi continued to recount the situation at the time, "At first, I told him to just buy one set, but this kid is like a bull, he just wants to find these things, and I can't persuade him otherwise."
Recalling the time, Akemi admitted that she was also somewhat moved by Kōyū's actions, saying, "At that time, he said he wanted to celebrate Girls' Day with you and that he would definitely find these dolls so that you could receive your parents' blessings like other girls."
"That was really stupid."
Although Ai said she was disgusted, the smile on her face betrayed her true feelings.
"Isn't it cute to be silly?"
Akemi reached out and ruffled Ai's hair, chuckled, and said, "To be honest, I'm quite envious that you met a boy like Mitsuyu."
"uh-huh…"
Ai shrugged noncommittally, but it was obvious that after Akemi said that, the corners of her lips curved into a wider smile.
She pulled her hand away from Kai Mingmei's on her head, turned her head to look out the window, and murmured softly, "The weather is nice, just like..."
Whether out of shyness or something else, she didn't say the last few words. She just turned her head, glanced at the bathroom door, and smiled faintly.
Ai's subtle actions naturally didn't escape Akemi's eyes, and seeing all this, she smiled with satisfaction.
