"I wonder what the difference is between the witch's room in that era and the one here."
Kōyū, holding Ai's hand, walked to the table, his eyes darting around, "Scorpion, lizard, toad, bat, rat..."
Besides these strange-looking animals, there were some jars containing herbs, several of which were broken, their contents completely exposed to the air, and an unknown liquid dripping down the table onto the floor, making a "drip-drip" sound.
The room is quite large; one half is used to store materials, and the other half is used to house people.
On the other side of the room, Guangyou could see a human-shaped object on the table. According to the usual tropes of haunted houses, the person on the table was probably a staff member in disguise.
Based on the principle of not embarrassing them, Kwang-yu decided to let the staff dressed as corpses move around a bit.
Kōyū turned his head and gave Ai a look. Ai nodded to indicate that she understood. Then the two of them walked to the table where the "corpse" was placed.
The "corpse" belonged to a young woman. After all, she was a witch, and her death was quite gruesome, with three or four scars on her face and her clothes in a disheveled state.
Fortunately, the haunted house kept its boundaries in mind; otherwise, it would have been quite inappropriate for children.
If this "corpse" really lived in that era, it must have experienced a lot. Guangyou also imagined the scene in his mind, which was truly despicable and even outrageous.
The darkness of that era was no exaggeration. Although he did not live a single day in that era, he had seen a lot of materials that were recorded and passed down through various means.
"Do you want to act?"
Ai leaned closer to Kousuke and lowered her voice, not wanting the staff to hear what she was saying.
"Go ahead and act, otherwise it will be too embarrassing for them."
Looking at the still motionless "corpse" on it, Guangyou felt somewhat helpless and asked softly, "How do I trigger this thing?"
Even games have a trigger switch, but the trigger device for this real person is nowhere to be found.
This was awkward. You could say that poking her with your hand wouldn't be a bad idea, but it seemed a bit impolite to do that to a girl.
"Wait a minute, this doesn't seem to be a real person."
Ai leaned closer, wrinkled her delicate nose, sniffed, and said, "It seems to be just a prop."
Hearing her say that, Guangyou also took a closer look. Indeed, the brightness was not enough before, so he couldn't tell. Now, upon closer inspection, the skin did not have the proper texture and did not look smooth at all.
Now that he knew it was fake, Kōyū was no longer embarrassed. After handing the candlestick to Ai, he stuck out a finger and poked the "corpse's" arm, then boldly put his hand on it and started stroking it.
I never knew you had such a twisted sense of humor.
Ai took a step or two to the side, moving a little further away from Kousuke, but she didn't let go of his hand. She said with a hint of disgust, "Disgusting."
These words acted as if a switch had been turned on, and the "corpse" seemed to be electrified. Guangyou quickly withdrew his hand, coughed a few times, and said, "I just wanted to see if there was any switch on it."
"Nobody would believe you."
Ai wrinkled her nose, moved closer to Kousuke, then looked back at the "corpse" on the table and asked with some doubt, "It shouldn't just be left there like that, right? There's no challenge at all."
"That's what I think too. I always felt it wasn't that simple."
Guangyou pinched his chin and scanned the "corpse" from head to toe with a scrutinizing gaze, also somewhat suspicious. "Normally, this corpse should suddenly sit up and let out a strange cry or something."
He had previously performed a mission at a haunted house. He knocked out a staff member, impersonated him, and scared passersby while waiting for the person to arrive.
It's actually quite interesting. He would sometimes see a young girl snuggling into the arms of the boy next to her, and he would try to make them be more affectionate and intimate.
As for why the goal was to go to a haunted house?
Don't ask, the answer is that even a bear can't resist the charms of a beautiful woman.
"Could it be that this mechanism is broken?"
Guangyou couldn't help but become suspicious. Since he had doubts, he had to take some action. He reached out and patted the "corpse" hard.
No matter what kind of appliance it is, if it looks faulty, just tap it. If one tap doesn't work, tap it twice. Although you might actually break the appliance, most of the time it still works fine.
Ai tugged at Kōyū, making him stop taking pictures of the "corpse," and said, "Don't break it, or I won't pay for it."
"It's okay, just pat it a little, it won't break."
Guangyou waved his hand dismissively, looking completely unconcerned. How could a mechanism of this level break just because a little kid tapped it? He said confidently, "If it breaks, I'll eat that toad right now."
As soon as he finished speaking, a crisp sound came from the "corpse" on the table, and then a visible crack appeared in the center of the "corpse".
How would you like to eat it?
Ai turned her head, her eyes smiling, and earnestly offered her suggestion, "I recommend you eat it raw, so you can appreciate the original flavor and the deliciousness of the toad meat."
Are you the devil?
Kōyū was inwardly panicking. Breaking the props wasn't a big deal, but the thought of eating them raw was disgusting. He tentatively asked Ai, "Can you make soup with it? I'll eat it with you then."
