Chapter 525 The Story at the Ramen Stall

"Inspector, we have the approximate location of the criminal. He is currently fleeing towards the outskirts of the city."

Inspector Megure stood up from his chair, his expression very serious. He looked at the officer who had reported to him and asked, "Go and get the police station over there to take charge of evacuating people. This fugitive is not so simple."

He recalled the information about the fugitive and felt a headache coming on:

Takaaki Hiura, 43 years old, was once a fairly well-known architect.

If he lived a good life, he wouldn't necessarily be rich and powerful, but he certainly wouldn't be so short of money.

But this guy is a heavy drinker and a gambler, just like Kogoro Mouri, whom Inspector Megure both loves and hates.

However, this person plays big; he either doesn't gamble at all, or he gambles a very large sum.

This is a matter of personal freedom, and nobody wants to interfere with it.

What's annoying is that this person has a bad temper, which gets even worse after drinking, and he often gets into fights with others.

Once, during a business dinner, he drank too much and got into a fight with a client, who was so angry that he broke the contract on the spot.

Having learned from past mistakes, many people in the industry no longer seek him out.

Because of his bad temper, his wife and children left him, leaving him all alone at home.

I don't usually go out, and staying alone for too long can cause some mental problems.

When he was drunk, he kept thinking about the fight he had with a client last time, and the more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

Unfortunately, this guy's idol is Teiji Moriya.

So he used his previous knowledge of chemistry to make a few homemade bombs and then went off to get revenge.

He planted a bomb in someone's house, but the person was out for dinner and wasn't home at the time.

The house was blown up, but no one was hurt.

This guy was very dissatisfied, and in the end he found the client at a place the client used to frequent.

He didn't care about the occasion and just threw the bomb into the crowd.

The customer was seriously injured in the bombing, and he is still in the hospital.

Police later caught him sleeping in an alley and put him in jail.

As a result, this guy, relying on his status as an architect and his understanding of architectural structure, managed to blast a small hole in a corner of the prison and escape three months after he was imprisoned.

To this day, the warden still doesn't know how this guy did it.

He is indeed smart, but he doesn't use his intelligence in the right way.

After escaping, the police naturally launched a vigorous manhunt, which is quite normal.

Later, police found his trail at his home, discovering a secret safe there.

Judging from the traces left behind, it may have been chemicals used to make bombs.

Police immediately issued a message urging citizens to stay home as much as possible.

The reason for not imposing a mandatory evacuation or issuing a citywide broadcast announcement is that the direction and exact location of Hiura Takaaki's escape were still uncertain.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to force those who participated in the event to leave, but the event organizers disagreed.

Japan's local system is somewhat similar to that of the United States, where capitalists have far more power than lower-level officials.

Thinking about this, Inspector Megure felt a headache coming on and cursed under his breath, "When will this damn system ever change?"

Shaking his head, he stopped thinking about these unrealistic things and continued to give orders: "Increase the search efforts and try to force him into the deserted mountains."

"yes!"

After receiving the order, the officer turned and left, but soon returned, looking flustered, and said, "Inspector, we saw the fugitive near Dorobiga Park."

"I remember they were having some kind of fireworks display over there, right?"

Inspector Megure's expression changed drastically, and he hurriedly asked, "Have you notified the park?"

"We notified them a long time ago and asked them to evacuate, but they don't seem to care."

Upon hearing this, Inspector Megure flew into a rage. He slammed his fist on the table with a dull thud and cursed, "Damn it! Do these businessmen not care about human lives for money?"

"Notify officers who are closer to the park to move closer to the park immediately, and at the same time, have rescue personnel be on standby."

At this point, no amount of cursing will make a difference.

Inspector Megure walked out the door, took out his phone, and made a call.

"Officer Sato, I remember you and Officer Takagi..."

Ramen stalls near the park

Miwako abandoned her usual boisterousness and ate ramen with great elegance.

Takagi sat beside her, looking reserved, eating his noodles in tiny bites, just like a shy girl.

The two did not speak, or perhaps had nothing to talk about, but more likely they were just shy.

Even the uncle at the ramen stall could tell that the relationship between the two was unusual.

"Young man, you can't pursue girls like that!"

While doing his work, the middle-aged man said to Takagi, "You have to be proactive when pursuing a girl. At this rate, when will you ever win over Miwako?"

"Uncle!"

Miwako slammed down her chopsticks and threatened, "If you say anything like that again, I won't come back!"

"You're getting impatient, aren't you? If you hadn't come, where would you have gotten such delicious ramen?"

The uncle chuckled and took back the empty bowl in front of Miwako, saying, "You too, if you like someone, just say so. Why keep putting on airs?"

Miwako often comes to his noodle shop, and the two are quite familiar with each other.

He always slurped noodles down in big mouthfuls, but this was the first time he'd ever seen noodles eaten this way.

He wouldn't believe there wasn't a story behind it. Back in the day, he was a womanizer who never got involved with anyone. He knew all about these kinds of things.

"Uncle! Who would like him?"
