Upon hearing this, Kwangyu had a bad feeling.
Why did they have to come at this exact moment?
"Oh no, if I miss this chance, who knows when the next one will be?"
Guangyou was already mentally basking in the glow of success.
It's always the same; they always mess things up at crucial moments.
It's either because someone interrupted you or because of a sudden accident.
"Tap tap tap..."
There was a knock on the ward door, and Conan's voice came from outside.
"Kuangyou, we've come to pick you up."
Kōyū wished he could jump out of bed and temporarily seal Conan's mouth with tape.
Just as he was about to open his eyes, the softness at the corner of his lips made him freeze on the spot.
A gentle kiss, then an instant separation.
Ai chuckled as she watched Kouyu's stunned expression, then strode to the hospital room door and opened it for Conan and his friends outside.
"Kid, how are you feeling?"
Uncle Mori stood with his hands in his pockets, looking at Kōyū. Although his words weren't exactly polite, they were genuinely expressions of concern for Kōyū.
"It's alright, Uncle."
Guangyou waved his hand and made a few gestures, saying, "The doctor said I just need to go home and rest for a few days."
"Um."
Uncle Mori nodded and said to Mitsuyu, "I'll go borrow a wheelchair, and we'll be leaving in a bit."
After saying that, he turned and left the ward.
"Don't let your father's appearance fool you, he was very worried when you had that accident, Guangyou."
Ran glanced back at Uncle Mori's departing figure, leaned closer, and whispered, "Yesterday, Dad even specifically asked Inspector Megure to let him meet with the criminal."
Guangyou felt a warmth in his heart, nodded, and smiled, "I know, Uncle is a good person."
Uncle Mori, who went to borrow a wheelchair, had no idea that he would be given a "friend zone" card by Kōyū.
"It's a pity that Dad doesn't express his feelings directly, otherwise he wouldn't have ended up like this with Mom."
Thinking about all this, Xiaolan shook her head helplessly and sighed, "They clearly love each other, but neither of them will back down."
"We'll make up in the future."
Kōyū smiled and offered a word of comfort, expressing his belief that Uncle Mori and Eri would reconcile sooner or later.
Even if it doesn't work out, Kōyū will try his best to help the two of them, such as arranging a chance encounter.
Kōyū felt a deep sense of gratitude towards the Mōri family.
I was particularly touched when I learned that Uncle Mori wanted to see Takaaki Nahiura.
Uncle Mori and Takaaki Hiura are not related, so why would he want to see him?
It's nothing more than going to discuss with Hiura Takaaki what happened to him.
This was the first time Guangyou had ever felt this way, with an elder standing up for him.
It's very fresh and refreshing.
"Let's not talk about this anymore. What do you want to eat when we get home?"
Xiao Lan put her hands behind her back, a bright smile returning to her face, and said, "I'll make a big meal at noon today to celebrate your safe discharge from the hospital."
Kōyū didn't answer immediately, but turned his head to look at Ai, as if to ask, "I want to eat what you made for lunch today, but is it inappropriate to refuse someone's kindness?"
Ai clearly received the look in his eyes. Without much thought, she parted her cherry lips and mouthed a few words to Kousuke: "Say yes."
Upon receiving Ai's message, Kousuke turned around and said to Ran, "Make whatever you like. I love all the dishes Ran-neechan makes."
"That's good."
Xiaolan reached out and ruffled Guangyou's hair, clearly pleased by the compliment.
"Xiao Lan, go and help Guang You into the wheelchair."
After returning to the ward, Uncle Mori immediately unfolded the wheelchair and placed it next to the bed.
This will make it easier for Guangyou to walk less after he gets out of bed.
When Ai saw that Kousuke was about to get out of bed, she quickly stood up from the chair and helped him into the wheelchair before Ran could.
"Thanks."
Kōyū turned to Ai and thanked her, which earned him a roll of his eyes from Ai.
Ai leaned closer and said with some displeasure, "If you say thank you again, I'll let you try the medicine later."
"It was my fault."
Kōyū knew that Ai didn't want things to become too distant between them, so he simply nodded and replied, "It won't happen again."
"Um."
The group then left the ward.
Uncle Mori's rented car was parked in front of the hospital.
Seemingly considering the number of people, Uncle Mori rented a larger family car this time.
Even with five people sitting there, it's not crowded at all.
Kōyū sat in the more spacious back seat, and Ai naturally sat next to him.
Conan chose a window seat in the back.
Actually, he didn't want to sit here, but there was nowhere else to sit.
He could only prop his chin up with his hand and listlessly look out the window at the city scenery he was already tired of seeing.
I'll also block out Kwangwoo sitting next to him, so I don't get fed dog food again later.
He misunderstood Guangyou. No matter what, with Uncle Mori and Ran here, they would be careful about their behavior.
He was just using the excuse of being too weak to lean on Ai's shoulder.
"Ai, I thought you would back away back then, but I didn't expect..."
Kōyū didn't continue, but Ai understood what he meant.
She turned her head to look out the window and said softly, "Anyway, they didn't see it, did they?"
Guangyou laughed upon hearing this and agreed, saying, "That's true, I was overthinking it."
"But this is only for this one time. After that, it's up to you."
Ai's fingers, resting on her lap, tapped rhythmically as a wave of emotion washed over her.
