Chapter 555 Manipulating People's Hearts

Hehehe~

Guangyou's laughter carried a chilling undertone.

His eyes were like a deep pool, making it impossible for Conan to tell what Kōyū was thinking.

But Conan knew that Kousuke was definitely not thinking anything good.

He sensed a hint of killing intent emanating from Guangyou.

"Kuangyou, don't be impulsive!"

Hearing Conan's advice, Kōyū turned around and glanced at Conan, sneered, and said, "I won't act impulsively because I'm perfectly clear-headed."

He can forgive the park for the late apology.

However, he could not forgive the park for doing nothing after receiving notification from the police.

He certainly knew why he was not doing anything.

It's all about money, which you can't take with you when you die!

Hoping that "the fugitive won't escape to our park," they continued their activities and made money.

Recalling the park manager's beaming apology earlier, Guangyou's anger intensified.

"There's no concrete evidence for this, is there? Maybe the police equipment really is malfunctioning?"

Conan is still trying to persuade him, because he doesn't think he can stop Mitsuyu by force.

If we can't persuade them now, those responsible will probably suffer serious consequences, if not death.

Mitsuyu glanced at Conan with amusement and asked, "Do you think that's possible?"

"this…"

Conan sighed. The possibility he mentioned did exist, but the probability was too small.

The police maintain their equipment routinely and have prepared emergency equipment for unforeseen circumstances.

Unless both the daily-use and the spare ones break down.

But what are the chances of such a coincidence?

"Because of their inaction, Ai almost got into trouble."

Guangyou clapped his hands and sneered, "Well done, that was really well done!"

"Hey, don't actually kill someone in a fit of anger!"

Seeing Kōyū like this, Conan immediately panicked, "If you really kill him, I won't protect you."

"You're overthinking it. I wouldn't kill them. Wouldn't it be too easy for them if they just died like that?"

Guangyou suddenly calmed down and said calmly, "I will elevate them to a high position and then take everything away from them."

"Then I will give them a glimmer of hope and let them immerse themselves in beautiful fantasies."

"In the end, I made them return to reality, or... repeat it again."

He said this in the same nonchalant tone as if he were talking about eating.

Conan couldn't hear any emotion in it, but what Mitsuyu said sent chills down his spine.

They drag people from the heights to the depths, giving them hope only to snatch it away with their own hands.

Sometimes, manipulating people's hearts is more painful than death itself.

Death is but a moment, but it can plunge people into despair, drive them insane, and cause them a lifetime of suffering.

Conan had no doubt about the truthfulness of Kousuke's words, because he knew that Kousuke was capable of doing these things.

Is it illegal?

As long as Kōyū does things cleanly, even Conan can't do anything to him.

"Kuangyou, are you really going to do this?"

Conan didn't know how to persuade Mitsuyu to give up this idea.

To his surprise, Guangyou smiled at him and said, "Don't worry, I won't do anything to embarrass you."

"But I am really angry."

In the past, Guangyou might have been able to do it, but now he's not alone, and he has to consider the thoughts of those around him.

"real?"

His reaction was beyond Conan's expectations; the sudden change made him almost distrust Mitsuyu.

He always felt that Guangyou would give him a perfunctory response on the surface, but then secretly retaliate.

"Don't worry, it really won't happen."

Guangyou waved his hand, looking completely unaffected, and even yawned, "But they should definitely not make any money in their current position."

He could promise Conan he wouldn't mess around, but he wouldn't forgive them so easily.

"That's good."

Conan patted his chest and breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'd like to see when the park will call me to apologize."

Guangyou leaned back on the sofa, a mocking smile on his lips. "These capitalists are truly heartless."

After watching TV for a while, Xiaolan's voice came from outside the door.

"I'm back."

Xiao Lan, having finished buying groceries, pushed open the door and came in.

Ai followed behind her, carrying a large bag of groceries.

It's already 11:17, and we'll probably finish cooking around midnight.

So the two of them went straight into the kitchen after entering the house.

"Speaking of which, I am actually quite hungry."

Guangyou rubbed his stomach and glanced back at the kitchen. "I really don't know what to have for lunch today."

"Anyway, you're the one who eats the majority of it."

Conan pushed up his signature black-rimmed glasses, then picked up the complete Sherlock Holmes books on the table and began to read them.

Guangyou glanced at it and then looked away, saying with a sneer, "You really never get tired of looking at me."

Without looking up, Conan replied, "This is a classic; it won't hurt to watch it more often."

"Alright."

After pressing the remote control a few times and finding no interesting programs, Guangyou simply turned off the TV, leaned back on the sofa, closed his eyes, and pretended to doze off.

At this moment, only the sound of Conan turning pages in his book and the faint sound of a cleaver hitting a cutting board could be heard from the kitchen inside the office.

As for Uncle Mori, he made an excuse to leave the agency as soon as he returned.

They said they were going to find some friends to play a round of mahjong to celebrate Guangyou's discharge from the hospital.

So he's not at the agency, but he says he'll still come back for meals.
