Chapter 593 The Woman Lying in the Bathtub

Back in the living room, Kōyū said to Tetsuo Kuroki, "Kuroki-kun, it seems like your bathroom is leaking. The water is flowing nonstop. You can call a repairman, but I don't know if they're still working."

"Leaking? It was fine this morning. Did my mom forget to turn off the tap?" Kuroki Tetsuya scratched his head, looking very puzzled. He had taken a bath in the bathroom this morning, so how could it suddenly be leaking?

"I'll go check it out first, you guys continue playing."

After saying that, he turned around and went back to the bathroom door. The sound of water from earlier still hadn't stopped, which meant that Guangyou hadn't been hallucinating.

The reason he didn't open the bathroom door to check the situation was because he couldn't do anything about the leak. He wasn't a plumber, and even if there was a leak, he couldn't fix it. To save himself the trouble, Guangyou didn't open the bathroom door to check.

"His mom is so careless, she forgot to turn off the tap." Guangyou complained as he pushed open the bathroom door. "How much water is going to be wasted... damn it!"

The scene before him made Guangyou swear. The bathroom floor was covered with water, and the faucet in the bathtub was still running, causing water to continuously overflow from the tub.

Of course, that's not the point. The point is that there's a woman lying in the bathtub, and the water flowing out of the bathtub is mixed with bright red blood.

The entire bathroom was filled with a strong stench of blood. If a timid person saw this scene, they would surely be terrified. But Guangyou was not. He had seen many similar, or even more terrifying and disgusting, scenes.

At this moment, Guangyou had only one question in his mind: who did this?

But now is not the time to think about these things. Guangyou quickly walked to the bathtub and turned off the faucet, while taking out his phone to take a few photos.

After doing all this, Kōyū called Inspector Megure, then quickly left the bathroom, ran to the living room, leaned close to Conan's ear, and whispered, "Someone died in the bathroom."

Conan, who had been listless, quickly perked up upon hearing the news, his expression becoming very serious as he asked, "Who died?"

"I suspect it's the child's mother." Kouyu glanced at Kuroki Tetsuya, who was watching TV, and said softly, "I'll try to get them away from here first. At least we can't let the child know about this now."

After saying this, Kōyū stood up and smiled at Kuroki Tetsuya and the others, saying, "Kuroki-kun, I'd like to ask if there are any restaurants around here? I'm a little hungry right now."

"There's a really good eel rice place on the street next door. Oh, and their ramen is pretty good too," said Kuroki Tetsuya, unaware of the situation. "I'm a little hungry myself, shall I take you there for dinner?"

Upon hearing about eel rice, Genta perked up: "Let's go, let's go! Kamen Rider has just finished airing, and I'm starving. A bowl of eel rice right now would be the happiest thing in my life!"

"I want to eat ramen!" Ayumi was speechless at Genta's deep obsession with eel rice. Compared to eel rice, she was more interested in ramen.

Sitting next to him, Mitsuhiko chimed in, "Then I'll go eat ramen too."

"Let's go, I'll take you there." Kuroki Tetsuya got up, turned off the TV, stretched, and then prepared to lead the group to the restaurant he had mentioned earlier.

This was just an excuse for Kōyū to get rid of them; naturally, he wouldn't go with them. So he casually brushed it off, saying, "You guys go ahead. I just remembered I have something to do. Conan and I will probably be a little late getting there."

“Okay, let’s go eat first.” Hearing this, Kuroki Tetsuya didn’t doubt it and nodded: “By the way, that shop is on the next street. Turn left when you go out of my house, and then walk straight for about ten minutes.

After Tetsuya Kuroki and the others left the house, Ai asked, "Did something happen?"

The moment Ai saw Kousuke, she knew something might have happened in the house, but she shared the same thought as Kousuke.

If an accident happened in this house, the victim is most likely related to Kuroki Tetsuya. Knowing this, Ai didn't immediately ask Kousuke what had happened.

“Yes, the child’s mother died in the bathroom.” Kōyū nodded, his expression slightly somber. He turned to Conan and said, “I’ve already notified the police. They should be here soon. That means you don’t have much time left to investigate openly, Conan.”

"It's like I'm doing something shameful by investigating cases." Conan urged hurriedly, "Stop talking about that, let's hurry up and go to the scene to see what's going on, hopefully we can solve this case as soon as possible."

The three arrived at the scene quickly. By then, most of the water in the bathroom had flowed into the sewer, but a large pool of blood remained on the floor.

"Is this wrist-cutting? Suicide?" Conan stood in front of the bathtub, quickly scanning the woman's body, and finally his gaze settled on a bloodstain on her wrist.

Looking at the woman's corpse, Kwang-yu said solemnly, "No, this is definitely murder."

This surprised Conan, who asked, "Why are you so sure? Do you know some clues?"

"I don't know yet." Kōyū looked up at Conan and said seriously, "Because there are basically no suicide cases where you live."

"..." Conan was speechless for a long time before finally managing to say, "I shouldn't have asked you that question."

"Just kidding." Guangyou walked to the edge of the bathtub and began to observe it carefully.

The woman had a noticeable bloodstain on her left wrist, which was the root cause of the massive bleeding, while she held a small knife in her other hand.

It was this small knife that further confirmed Guangyou's guess. He said, "Look at that knife, did you find anything?"

Upon hearing this, Conan glanced at the knife and then said definitively, "You're right, this case is indeed murder, because the knife is being held upside down."

Both men noticed that the woman was holding the knife in her right hand upside down, with the blade facing up and the back of the blade facing down. This was an impossible position for her to commit suicide by cutting her wrists.

Even if it works, the scars on my wrists won't be right; they're too small now.

Moreover, the observant Guangyou noticed something was wrong with the woman's right hand. If it really was a suicide by wrist-cutting, the cause of death should be excessive blood loss, but excessive bleeding would cause a person to fall into a coma.

In that state, it's difficult for a person to muster any strength, and they wouldn't be able to hold the knife so steadily in their hand like they do now.

There is only one possibility: someone killed the woman and staged the scene as a suicide, but perhaps the killer was inexperienced and made this mistake.

Thinking about this, Kōyū silently criticized the strange thought in his mind: "Come to think of it, having experience in this kind of thing doesn't seem like a good thing."

"In any case, we need to find the murderer as soon as possible."
