"Just as I thought."
Hearing this, the young police officer was not surprised. From the moment he saw Uncle Mori's posture, he realized that this case was not simple.
However, he clearly remembered that Uncle Mori had been in his sight the whole time and had never left to look for clues.
In other words, can Uncle Mori deduce the truth just by standing here?
Or does Uncle Mori have an accomplice?
Thinking of this, the officer glanced at Kōyū standing next to him: "This kid seems to have been a lot of help. He must be the helper that Mr. Mori sent out. He's very much like the Baker Street Squad."
"Is Mr. Mori already grooming a successor?"
"Should detective training start from childhood?"
He thought a lot, but all his thoughts eventually boiled down to one sentence: "As expected of Mr. Mori. If I had half... no, a third of his ability, I should be able to get a promotion."
Feeling the gaze directed at him, Guangyou slowly turned his head, glanced at the police officer, hesitated for a moment, and couldn't help but swear: "What's wrong with this police officer... Why do I feel like he's overthinking things again?"
In him, Guangyou successively discovered emotions such as doubt, envy, and respect.
Moreover... Guangyou's sixth sense told him that the police officer envied him.
This puzzled him greatly; he couldn't understand what he had to envy.
This guy probably has a cat on him.
Despite his admiration, the officer didn't forget his business and quickly asked, "Mr. Mori, so according to you, who is the murderer?"
"The culprit was someone who knew that Mr. Hirai was going to the observation deck to repair the handrail."
Seeing the growing panic on Kondo's face, Conan continued, "Besides, the culprit's build is similar to Mr. Hirai's, and he's wearing the same uniform as Mr. Hirai, which means..."
The perpetrator's identity has not yet been revealed, but those present have basically guessed who the murderer is.
The person who guessed the culprit slowly turned to Kondo, his eyes filled with disbelief.
"The only one who fits these criteria is Mr. Kondo, who is currently present." Conan withdrew his gaze from Kondo and snorted coldly. "That's right, the murderer in this case is you, Mr. Kondo Eiichiro!"
Connecting the information from before and after, the police officer had some idea, but since he wasn't sure, he could only ask, "Mr. Mori, do you mean that Mr. Kondo first pushed Mr. Hirai off the cliff, and then after you guys got to the observation deck, you jumped into that tree?"
“That’s not the case…” Conan paused slightly, glanced at Kousuke, and then said, “Kousuke, you tell this officer why.”
Guangyou, who had just recovered from his shock, froze again. It was him again?
What business is it of his? And to be honest, he hadn't even considered this issue.
He had just thought about three questions: Is this a murder case? What is the evidence? Who is the suspect?
However, it's not impossible to answer. The question isn't difficult; the key word is "time."
Just as Kousuke was about to answer, ready to continue his performance with Conan, he heard Ai whisper to him, "The time, the time of death, and the time of falling off the cliff are different."
Seeing that Kōyū was standing there in a daze, Ai thought he couldn't answer, so she gave him a hint.
When Ai kindly reminded him, Kōyū didn't spoil the mood by explaining that he already knew, but simply nodded to indicate that he understood.
“Officer, there’s a fatal flaw in the method you mentioned.” Guangyou glanced in the direction of the cabin and continued to explain, “That is time.”
The officer was puzzled, repeatedly muttering the two words: "Time?"
Just then, "Uncle Mori's" voice rang out again: "Kuangyou, you brat, stop playing coy. Did I only teach you to play coy?"
"Damn it... now you're calling me a brat, huh?" Guangyou's face was expressionless, but the veins on his forehead were bulging. After calming down a bit, he pretended to apologize and said, "I'm sorry, I'll say it right away."
Upon hearing this, Conan felt every cell in his body radiating a sense of exhilaration.
It's like drinking iced cola in the sweltering heat of summer or eating hot pot in the freezing cold.
"Why didn't I think of this method before?" Conan never expected that his whim would bring him such great pleasure.
Conan initially thought he could increase the intensity later, but after careful consideration, he decided to give up altogether.
If you really anger Guangyou, it won't be as simple as just feeding him dog food.
Conan felt a pang of regret at the thought of giving up, as this was one of the few opportunities he had to tease Kousuke.
Kouyuu was unaware of his inner thoughts. At that moment, Kouyuu just wanted to finish the case quickly and then settle accounts with Conan.
“We came here simply to enjoy the scenery, and the time we arrived at the observation deck was not fixed. This caused a considerable discrepancy between the time Mr. Kondo jumped down and the actual time Mr. Hirai fell down.”
After calming down, Guangyou continued to explain, "Once an autopsy is performed and the time of death is determined, this plan will have a huge flaw, leading to its failure."
"I see." The officer looked intently at Kōyū, nodded, and thought to himself, "So this is the child Mr. Mori raised?"
"He must have asked me this question out of a desire to mentor me, right? He really put a lot of thought into it!"
"He looks like a primary school student, yet he's so thoughtful. As expected of Mr. Mori!"
After that problem was solved, the officer asked the next question: "How did he do that?"
