Chapter 669 Conan: I feel something's not right

Many idle people from the neighborhood came to join in the fun, but many others didn't feel the need to experience the excitement and continued doing their own thing.

Some are off work, some are shopping.

Thanks to the people watching the spectacle, the area is now much more spacious. Thinking back to when I walked here earlier, it was truly a sea of waists.

Right in front of him was 109 Department Store. Just as Guangyou was about to go in, he felt his phone vibrating wildly in his pocket.

He usually keeps his phone on vibrate, partly to avoid being discovered by others, and partly because he finds the ringtone too noisy.

"A phone call?" Guangyou took out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, and his expression gradually froze.

The caller ID tells Kōyū that the call was from Takagi, who probably wants to know what happened.

He thought it was Ran asking where he was and telling him to hurry home, but he didn't expect it to be Takagi calling.

If time could be turned back a few minutes, Guangyou would choose to put his phone on silent instead of on vibrate.

It wasn't that he disliked Takagi; he just found taking statements and such too troublesome.

Or should we just pretend we didn't see it?

Looking at the still-vibrating phone in his hand, Guangyou decided to pretend he hadn't seen the call. After all, he wasn't the only witness; one more or one less wouldn't make a difference.

With this thought in mind, Guangyou put away his phone and walked towards 109 Department Store.

Before they had gone far, Takagi's voice came from behind: "Kuangyou, is your phone on silent?"

He paused, then slowly turned his head, feigning surprise: "Yes, Officer Takagi, is there something you need from me?"

"Ahem..." Takagi pretended not to see Kōsuke putting away his phone and continued to play along, "You were the one who called the police, right? Can you tell me what happened?"

"I called the police." Seeing that he couldn't escape, Guangyou could only honestly explain what he had just seen. However, he hadn't actually seen much. After simplifying his words, he said to Takagi, "What happened was that the man and the woman had a conflict. Then the man got angry, rushed out of the door, and tried to kill the old man. Then I called the police, and then you came."

"..." Takagi wanted to say something, but didn't say it.

Although it's somewhat concise, everything is clearly explained, and there's nothing wrong with it.

That said, why do things always seem to happen around Guangyou?

This wasn't the only time; the amusement park incident happened before too—a haunted house murder and a Ferris wheel explosion occurred in the same day...

Oh, and there's also a theft case.

Once or twice is one thing, but three times in one day, isn't that a bit too frequent?

Maybe I'm overthinking it.

After a moment of silence, Takagi put away the police handbook and said to Mitsuyu, "Alright, I understand the general situation. I'll go investigate the case now. Be careful out there, you're just a kid. Call me if anything happens."

"Okay, goodbye Officer Takagi."

Kōyū watched Takagi leave, then breathed a sigh of relief and turned to walk into 109 Department Store.

Soon, Guangyou left 109 Department Store and prepared to take the subway home.

It wasn't that he bought it, but after looking at the signs, Guangyou realized that although this place was called a department store, most of the items were clothes. There was a Starbucks upstairs, but they didn't sell raw materials.

In the end, he still had to go to the convenience store to buy it.

Fortunately, convenience stores are quite common on the streets of Japan. On his way back to the subway, Kōyū saw a convenience store and bought the raw materials and molds for his handmade chocolates there.

By the time I returned to the entrance of the firm, it was almost dark.

There was no way Uncle Mori would find out about this gift. In his eyes, buying this bag was perfectly normal, but in Uncle Mori's eyes, he was just a little kid.

A little boy who gives such an expensive gift is bound to get scolded.

After thinking for a moment, Kōyū took out his phone and sent a message to Conan.

"I need to use your house to store some things."

Then, Kōyū walked toward the Kudo residence.

On the way to the Kudo residence, Conan's reply arrived. There were two letters, the contents of which made Kōyū feel a little strange.

"nailed it?!"

"You can put it there. Let me go take a look tomorrow too."

After seeing this, Kōyū was a little confused. It was as if Conan knew about his plan, but he had never told anyone about it.

Is this another deduction?

But he didn't give anything away!

Aside from telling Conan that he had something to do today and would be home later, he didn't say anything else.

Logically speaking, it shouldn't be possible to deduce it, unless Conan has mastered mind-reading, but that's highly unlikely.

So what...is that sentence saying?

As Guangyou walked, he pondered the events that had altered Conan's emotions over the past few days. He realized that Conan probably thought he was going to host a server.

That's very likely.

Originally, Mitsuyu thought that Conan had finally come to his senses and deduced that he was going to prepare a gift, and that he was also thinking of making a chocolate for Ran.

What a waste of emotion.

It's alright though. He bought enough ingredients for three people. He can just tell Conan about it when he comes tomorrow. It's not too late.

Soon, Kōyū arrived at the entrance of the Kudo residence. After glancing at Professor Agasa's house and confirming that no one was there, he quietly pushed open the door and successfully sneaked in.

After carefully putting away the materials and the bag, Kōyū left the Kudo residence using the same method.

Now that all the preparations are done, after we come over tomorrow to make the chocolates, most of the plan will be settled, and the rest are just some easy details to handle.
