By the time Guangyou and his group finished watching the competition and left the Dongdu National Sports Arena, it was almost noon.
The warm sunshine dispelled the morning chill, and its warmth only made people feel comfortable.
"That was fantastic!" Uncle Mori stretched, still somewhat savoring the moment, and said, "It wasn't a wasted trip."
“Yes,” Ran nodded and smiled in agreement, “Mr. Kiba and Mr. Oogami are both amazing.”
Due to Nagase Hyota's elimination from the match, Wolf Warriors' opponent was temporarily changed to their captain, Kiba.
The two fought back and forth, and it was indeed quite exciting.
but...
Recalling the course of the match, Kōyū clicked his tongue and muttered to himself, "Kiba still held back a bit."
It's more than enough to fool laymen; the deafening cheers during the competition speak for themselves.
But in Kōyū's eyes, this match was too lopsided. Kiba had many opportunities to counterattack and many chances to secure the victory directly.
However, Kiba didn't seize any of these opportunities; to be precise, he gave them up.
The purpose was to allow the great god Jingqing to maintain his winning streak while continuing to conceal the true identity of the Wolf-faced Warrior.
In fact, Kōyū can understand, since Wolf Mask is currently the most popular wrestler in the Imperial Capital Wrestling Association, apart from Nagase Hyōta.
For the Beijing Wrestling Association, not doing so would result in a significant financial loss.
They had already suffered a significant loss due to Nagase Hyota's demise; how could they possibly allow the Wolf-Faced Warrior to suffer further problems?
Fortunately, Kiba's acting was good, and he didn't reveal any flaws. Very few viewers noticed that he was holding back.
"By the way, what about you guys?" Uncle Mori glanced at the time and said to the group, "I have something to do later, so I have to go first. Or should I have a taxi take you back?"
"No need, Dad, you go ahead and do your work." Xiaolan shook her head and said with a smile, "I'll take them to have lunch and then take them home."
“Okay.” Uncle Mori thought for a moment, nodded and said, “Then I’ll be going now. Be careful on your way. I might be back a little late tonight, so don’t worry about preparing dinner for me.”
"Okay, take care on your journey."
Goodbye, Uncle.
After saying goodbye to Uncle Mori, Xiaolan asked the group, "What do you guys want to eat for lunch?"
Conan wasn't too concerned about what to eat for lunch. Today's events had given him some food to think about, and he realized that his mind wasn't on food at all. So he casually said, "Anything is fine with me."
The problem was passed on to Guangyou.
It's not wise to let Guangyou, who suffers from decision-making anxiety, make the choice. He thought for a long time but still couldn't make a decision.
"Kuangyou?" Xiaolan raised her hand and waved it in front of his eyes, asking, "Have you thought it through?"
"I'm still thinking about it." Guangyou looked around and the first restaurant that caught his eye was a ramen shop across the street, so he said, "How about we go eat ramen?"
Then Kōyū turned to look at Ai, and before he could ask anything, he saw Ai nod at him.
"Alright then." Seeing that no one had any objections, Xiaolan nodded and said, "Then we'll have ramen for lunch."
I crossed the street and entered the ramen shop. Perhaps because the game had just ended, the shop was packed with customers.
At this point, there were only five or six empty seats left in the store, and they were not all together, but rather divided into three two-person tables.
The four quickly split into two groups and sat in the empty seats.
As soon as he sat down, Guangyou overheard people in the next room discussing the case they had just heard about:
"Have you heard? It seems someone died at the martial arts arena across the street."
"You just found out? It's all over the news. The one who died was that very popular Nagase Hyota."
"I quite liked this player, it's a pity he died so young."
"Who can argue with that?"
Upon hearing these words, Guangyou couldn't help but exclaim, "These media outlets are really quick."
It's only been a few hours since the police started their investigation, and I didn't expect these media outlets to have already published it in newspapers. I guess today's midday news will be "Wrestler Found Dead in Locker Room, Murderer Turns Out to Be Him".
The ramen arrived quickly. He whispered to Ai, "I'm going to eat now," and then began to eat the ramen in his bowl.
"Slurp slurp~"
"Ton ton ton ton~"
With the side dishes, Guangyou sipped the soup and ate the noodles, finishing the bowl in just a few minutes.
"Why are you eating so fast?" Ai teased him in a low voice, seeing his reaction. "Is someone going to steal it from you?"
"I'm used to it." As soon as Guangyou finished speaking, he saw Ai holding a tissue and wiping the soup stains from his mouth.
"It's like I haven't eaten in years." Ai casually crumpled the tissue into a ball and threw it into the trash can next to the table, then picked up her chopsticks and continued eating her noodles.
"Hehe." Guangyou suddenly laughed, it was unclear whether he was laughing at his own eating habits, which looked like he hadn't eaten in years, or at Ai's behavior just now.
After finishing his ramen, Kōyū rested his chin on his hand on the table, gazing out the door. He would occasionally glance at Ai sitting opposite him, a faint smile playing on his lips.
A few minutes later, Ai finished her portion as well.
After finishing their ramen, the two headed towards the door.
They met up with Ran and Conan outside the door, and the four of them took a bus back to the agency.
The afternoon's arrangements had already been made; Mitsuyu and Conan would have to sneak into the Kudo residence again to finish up the gifts.
