Guangyou took out his phone and sent Xiaolan a text message saying, "I won't be home for dinner tonight."
After receiving Xiaolan's reply, Guangyou got up and went to the kitchen.
At this moment, Ai was washing the ingredients for tonight's dinner.
Seeing Kōyū walk into the kitchen, Ai naturally separated some of the ingredients and put them in another sink, saying, "These are for you."
"Okay, I'll take care of these." Guangyou smiled and nodded, walked to the sink, turned on the tap, and began washing the ingredients for tonight.
As he washed the ingredients, Guangyou's lips curled up slightly.
He likes it the way it is now.
but...
Recalling what had just happened, Guangyou's smile seemed to change slightly: "A sneak attack, huh..."
...
Dinner was for three people, and not many ingredients were needed, so the two of them finished washing up quickly.
After cleaning, I started cutting.
Just like before, Ai was holding a small knife and helping Kyou prepare the ingredients.
Of course, during this process, Ai couldn't help but listen to Kousuke's nagging: "Ai, slow down, don't accidentally cut your hand, the knife is very sharp, anyway, there's still plenty of time."
Ai had heard similar words countless times.
However, Guangyou would still say it every time this happened.
It was as if she were a complete novice.
However, for her, these nagging words were quite heartwarming.
Although that's what she thought in her heart, she just nodded calmly and replied, "Okay, I know. It's not like it's my first time cooking. I'll be careful."
“Those who drown are usually good swimmers.” Guangyou swiftly chopped the ingredients on the cutting board into small, even pieces, and said, “No matter what, it’s always better to be careful.”
This principle applies everywhere.
"Mmm." Ai responded simply and continued processing the ingredients, her movements a little slower.
Clearly, she took Guangyou's words to heart.
After preparing the ingredients, Guangyou dried his hands with a towel and began preparing dinner.
...
Half an hour later, with Ai's help, Kōyū prepared dinner.
"Ai, bring this plate to the table." Kōyū sighed and handed the plate of food to Ai.
"Okay." Ai took the plate and turned to walk towards the dining table.
He added some hot water to the pot and put it in the sink. After washing his hands, Guangyou took off his apron and walked out of the kitchen.
Turning to look out the window, a golden ray has already appeared in the azure sky. Soon, this golden ray will spread completely, dyeing the sky its color.
"It's getting late." Guangyou felt a strange sense of emotion.
He walked to the sofa and sat down, turning to the side as he looked out the window at the scenery, reflecting on the events of the day.
Whether he was shopping at the supermarket or cooking just now, he felt a subtle sense of warmth.
This feeling... is pretty good.
"Dinner's ready." Ai's voice sounded behind him, pulling him back from his wandering thoughts and bringing a smile to his face.
"Let's go." Guangyou propped himself up from the sofa and walked with Xiao Ai towards the dining table.
...
Dinner wasn't lavish; it was just right for the three of us, and there wasn't much food left over.
For a chef, seeing their food completely devoured is the greatest reward.
"I really had to trouble you today, Kouyu." Professor Agasa chuckled, rubbing his stomach and smacking his lips, seemingly still savoring the taste of dinner.
For him, tonight's dinner was quite juicy and flavorful.
I enjoyed the meal.
"What trouble is there?" Guangyou waved his hand, while using his other hand to pour the fish bones and other things into a bowl, and said, "It's just one more thing to do, and besides, you've helped me so much, Doctor, what's a meal?"
"If anyone should be helping, it should be me thanking you." Dr. Agasa suddenly remembered something, his face beaming with smiles, and said, "It's that seaplane you told me about last time, Mitsuyu. I don't know if you remember it. Now, a manufacturer has approached me to discuss cooperation."
Upon hearing this news, Guangyou paused in his work, a smile appearing on his face, and said, "Really? That's great."
"All I need to do is authorize them, and then sit at home and wait for the dividends. I owe this all to the advice you gave me back then, Kōyū." Dr. Agasa's smile widened as he thought of his savings.
“That’s pretty good, Doctor,” Mitsuyoshi said with a smile.
"Oh, right, Kouyu, give me your account number later." Dr. Agasa remembered something, his smile fading as he said to Kouyu, "After all, this was your idea, so you get a share of the money."
"No need, you can keep the money, Doctor." Guangyou shook his head and said, "You need funding for your research, so you should keep the money yourself."
Inventions require time and money. Dr. Agasa has plenty of time, but not so much money.
This is why some inventors seek help from large, well-funded conglomerates, asking them to invest in their projects.
But those large conglomerates are after profits. If an invention can bring them profits, they will gladly invest money in it.
Of course, we cannot rule out capitalists who want to minimize their investment but maximize their profits.
Most conglomerates are very pragmatic; only profit can motivate them to invest in projects.
Invention is never a smooth process; it's quite normal to not have a breakthrough for more than a decade.
