Seeing that Conan agreed with him, Kōyū took a second or two to control the smile on his face.
His expression returned to calm, and he nodded, saying seriously, "Right? Compared to your mother finding out, I think it's better to have Heiji help cover up the lie."
"Hmm, I think you make a good point." Conan nodded in agreement.
He thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with what Guangyou said.
He knew exactly what kind of person his own mother was.
She's already a mother of a high school student, and her age is obvious, but she still gets a little grumpy when people call her "auntie."
Moreover, he likes to play pranks on himself, just like a child who hasn't grown up.
For example, when I came back to visit him last time, I staged a kidnapping scene, which made him think he was going to die.
If she finds out I gave Xiaolan a gift...
He could already picture that scene in his mind.
…
"Shin-chan~ I didn't expect you to finally get it! But when are you going to prepare a gift for me too, Shin-chan?"
Or:
"I want to eat the chocolate that Shin-chan made!"
…
Thinking about all this, Conan's lips twitched slightly.
Sure enough, it's better to have a sore wallet.
"Isn't this a good thing? Why do you look like that? Do you actually want your mom to know about this?" Guangyou knew perfectly well, but still pretended not to know and asked.
As he spoke, he took out his phone, pretending to make a call, and said, "If you really think that way, I can call your mom, and she'll be very happy to know."
"No!" Conan quickly interjected, "I didn't mean that."
He really had no way to deal with his childish mother.
"Okay, then I won't make the call," Guangyou replied and put away his phone.
"Oh, by the way, how about you come to Osaka with me sometime when you have some free time?" Conan said, relieved that Kouyu had put away his phone.
"What's wrong?" Kōyū still looked completely clueless. "Why do you want to go to Osaka? Isn't it better to stay home?"
“That day, Hattori called and asked me about the gift,” Conan explained. “I didn’t hide it from him and told him about the gift. Then I said I would treat him to takoyaki next time I went to Osaka.”
"So you want to drag me along?" Kōyū resolutely refused. "I'm not going. Why would I go all the way to Osaka just to eat takoyaki? Do you think I'd have a stomachache from all that?"
What a joke, that he would make a special trip to Osaka just to eat takoyaki?
Is it that the warm bed is no longer comfortable, or is it that he can no longer go to see Ai?
At the very least, he could train his physical fitness.
"Anyway, you don't have anything to do at the firm..."
As he spoke, Conan's voice gradually faded, and he eventually fell silent.
"..."
He thought about it for a moment, and it seemed that he was the only one in the firm with nothing to do.
And Guangyou...
He suddenly felt a little tired.
Seeing Conan's embarrassment, Mitsuyu couldn't help but laugh out loud: "Right? I have things to do at the agency, but you... seem to have a lot of free time."
"..." Conan did not respond and remained silent.
Actually, he didn't necessarily want to drag Kousuke along, but rather because if he were alone, Ran would never agree to let him go to Osaka.
Given the current situation, if he wants to go to Osaka, he can only rely on Uncle Mori, for example, by going there on a trip together or by handling a case.
Uncle Mori hasn't had any cases lately, nor does he have any plans to travel.
He also couldn't possibly persuade Uncle Mori to take him on a trip to Osaka.
So he set his sights on Kwang-yu.
If Kouyu agrees, then Ran might consider it and perhaps agree to take them both to Osaka, just so she can meet up with Kazuha.
He wanted to get to the bottom of this as soon as possible, which is why he wanted to go to Osaka early to treat Hattori to some takoyaki and maybe even talk to him about the case.
However, given the current situation, the takoyaki project will likely have to be postponed.
"Anyway, I'm not going. If you want to go, go by yourself," Kōyū broke the silence. "Osaka isn't far from here; it'll be a quick flight."
“It’s not far, so why don’t you reconsider?” Conan said tentatively again. “It’s only a day’s round trip, and I’ll treat you to takoyaki then.”
If you fly, it only takes one to two hours to get to Osaka.
You can make a round trip in a day and still have time to stroll around the streets of Osaka.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" Guangyou pointed at himself, with an expression that said, "Do you think I'm stupid?" He said, "Did you pick up your plane ticket from the ground? Did you not need it?"
A plane ticket costs at least several thousand yen, and two round-trip tickets would cost tens of thousands of yen, just for a meal of takoyaki that costs a few hundred yen.
Unless that takoyaki is some kind of three-star tire brand or has some kind of title as the best in Japan, the person who can do this must have too much money to burn.
“This…” Conan was speechless.
In fact, he had taken this into consideration.
"If we really go to Osaka, we'll have to stay there for at least a day or two." Kouyu suddenly remembered Hattori Shizuka's cooking; if he went, he could probably mooch a meal there.
I must say, Shizuka Hattori's cooking is truly delicious.
“That makes sense.” Conan nodded in agreement.
