Chapter 729 You're fast!

The red sun hung on the horizon and slowly set.

On the green lawn, Guangyou and Xiao Ai sat side by side.

"Let's go." Kōyū said softly to Ai as he watched the people leaving the green space. "It's getting late, I'll take you home."

"Yes, it is indeed getting late." Ai nodded in response.

Ai let go of Kyou's hand and sat on the green grass, motionless.

Standing up, Kōyū walked up to Ai, extended his hand, and smiled, "Let's go, I'll take you home."

She didn't respond, but simply reached out and shook hands with him.

Upon feeling the warmth emanating from his palm, Kōyū gently pulled Ai up.

After Ai stood up, Kōyū took her hand and walked towards the park entrance.

Upon arriving at the park entrance, Kōyū greeted Ai first, then went to the security room to retrieve Conan's backpack.

Although he is just a student and doesn't have any valuables in his bag, Guangyou still checked it before leaving to avoid losing his textbooks.

It seems like this isn't such a bad thing after all.

...

He only checked his own; as for Ai's, Mitsuyu thought it would be better for Ai to check it herself.

Even though their relationship has reached this point, it is still very inappropriate to go through someone's bag, and Guangyou would never do that.

After leaving the security room, Guangyou walked towards Xiao Ai.

At this moment, Ai is sitting on a park bench, waiting for Kyou to return.

Walking to the bench, putting down his schoolbag, Kōyū said to Ai, "Ai, check if anything is missing from your schoolbag."

"No one would be so bored as to rummage through my bag, right?" Ai didn't think anything would be missing, and she certainly didn't believe anyone would steal her things.

After all, besides textbooks, there were only two empty lunch boxes in his schoolbag.

Which destitute thief would steal these things?

"Alright, checking it out is definitely the right thing to do." Kōyū sat down on the bench, turned to look at Ai, and said.

"Let me see." Ai nodded after hearing this, put the backpack on her lap, opened it, and looked inside.

The backpack is only so big, and it doesn't have much stuff in it.

Soon, Ai closed her backpack and said to Kōyū, "Nothing is missing."

"That's fine then." Kōyū stood up from his chair, pulled Ai up in the same way, and the two left the park.

They didn't linger outside and headed straight for Professor Agasa's house.

A dozen minutes later, the two arrived at their destination.

The two were saying goodbye in front of the gate.

"Then I'll go in."

"Okay, remember to go to bed early tonight."

"The same to you."

Watching Ai push open the door and walk in, Kōyū also withdrew his gaze and turned to walk towards the agency.

...

When I got back to the office, it was just in time for dinner.

"Guangyou, hurry up and wash your hands, it's time to eat."

Xiao Lan, wearing an apron, came out of the kitchen and invited the group to dinner.

"Oh," Kōyū replied, heading towards his room, sending Ai a text message saying "I'm home" on the way.

After putting his backpack back in his room and receiving Ai's reply, Kōyū went to the bathroom to wash his hands.

After leaving the bathroom, Guangyou sat down at the dining table.

Before they started eating, Kōyū told them about Hattori Heiji and Kazuha's plans to come on Saturday.

"Kazuha and the others are coming." Xiaolan untied her apron and sat down at the dining table. After hearing the news, she nodded without much thought. "I understand. I'll buy more food and treat them well."

"When are they coming on Saturday?" Uncle Mori asked, looking at Mitsuyoshi.

"The exact time hasn't been announced yet," Kouyu explained. "Heiji-nii said we'll confirm the exact time the day before departure, so that it'll be easier to adjust if something comes up."

"That's not bad either." Uncle Mori responded and turned around, reaching out to pull the tab on the can. With a slight pull, accompanied by a "whoosh," the aroma of beer filled the table.

"Dad, please drink less alcohol," Xiaolan said with a slight frown.

"Okay, I'll just have two cans today, just two cans." Uncle Mori said dismissively, then took a big gulp of beer, swallowed it, and let out a satisfied sigh.

"Ah, that feels so good..."

Looking at the disheveled Uncle Mori, Ran shook her head helplessly, picked up her chopsticks, and said to the others, "Alright, let's eat."

...

After dinner, Uncle Mori sat in the living room, holding today's evening newspaper, looking at the news.

"Another arson incident." Uncle Mori's gaze lingered on one of the columns, and he frowned. "Okuho-cho 3-chome... As expected, there's that red horse statue there too."

When Xiaolan, who was clearing dishes in the kitchen, heard Uncle Mori's words, she paused slightly and asked, "Did it happen again?"

In fact, this is not the first time arson has occurred.

This has happened several times recently, and this is the third time.

Even her classmates discussed these arson incidents, with some worried that their homes might become the next target of the perpetrators.

These recent arson attacks have caused panic among a small number of people.

"Yes, it happened again." Uncle Mori looked serious. Although he had been drinking, it was only two cans of beer, which did not affect his thinking at all.
