Five minutes later, the round of drawing the Joker ended, and Kōyū lost.
"Let's stop here, it's about time." Guangyou put down his cards, stood up and stretched, and said to the others, "I'll go prepare lunch."
"Wait a minute..." Conan called out to Kouyu, who was about to turn and leave, and said, "You haven't been punished yet."
"Hurry up and put it on, I still need to prepare lunch after you're done." Guangyou didn't say much, but after hearing this, he bent down and brought his face close to the wall, urging him on.
After Conan stuck a sticky note on his face, Kōyū straightened up and said, "Alright, I'm going to prepare lunch."
Upon entering the kitchen, Guangyou first tore off all the sticky notes stuck to his face, crumpled them into a ball, and threw them into the trash can.
Just as he took the groceries he had bought yesterday out of the refrigerator, Ai's voice rang out behind him.
"Do you need any help?"
“Just what I needed.” Guangyou wasn’t surprised; in fact, he was already somewhat used to it.
He set aside some ingredients and said to Ai, "Ai, could you wash these for me?"
"Hmm." Ai walked over to Kouyu and started helping him wash the ingredients.
As time passed, a delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen.
...
1:30 PM.
"Heh~"
After yawning, Conan turned to Kouyu, who was playing a racing game, and asked, "Kouyu, why isn't Hattori here yet?"
"You're asking me? Who should I ask?" Guangyou said, maneuvering his race car and dodging obstacle after obstacle on the track. "Besides, didn't Xiaolan go to make a phone call? What's the rush?"
"You have games to play, so of course you're not in a hurry," Conan said, pursing his lips. "I don't have any."
"How about..." Guangyou said without turning his head, "Is it possible for you to play a round?"
"No need, you two can play instead." Conan knew his own gaming skills well, so he decisively refused.
"Just wait, don't rush," Kōyū said, continuing to steer the race car. "Anyway, we can't go to the theme park today, so it doesn't matter when Heiji comes."
By the time we finished lunch, it was already 12:30.
There was only half an hour left until the time agreed upon with Hattori Heiji.
During that half hour, feeling bored, Kōyū started playing video games with Ai.
I've been playing fighting games and now racing games, from 12:30 to 1:30.
But even now, Heiji Hattori and Kazuha still haven't arrived.
If he didn't not know their exact address, Guangyou would have gone out to pick them up long ago.
I have no idea what those two were doing outside, they managed to stand us up for an hour.
Luckily it was raining outside, so they couldn't go to the theme park anyway, and it didn't matter that they were late.
"I won." Ai controlled her race car and crossed the finish line, a smile playing on her lips.
"Ah, I lost." Guangyou said somewhat unconvinced. "Let's play one more round. This time I'll definitely beat you."
“Let’s play one more round.” Ai glanced at Kousuke, then smiled and said, “Let’s make this clear first, I won’t let you win on purpose.”
"That would be best."
...
At 2 PM, Kōyū turned to Ai and asked, "Ai, are you still playing?"
"Let's take a break," Ai said, putting down the controller.
“Okay.” Kōyū turned off the game console and turned to Conan, who was dozing off, and said, “Hey, Conan, wake up. Let’s go downstairs and ask Ran what’s going on.”
"Hmm." Conan rubbed his sleepy eyes, stood up, and stretched.
Next, the three of them went to the office on the second floor.
"Sister Ran, haven't Heiji and the others arrived yet?" Kōyū asked as he pushed open the door and saw Ran standing by the window looking out.
"Yes, it's already two o'clock." Xiaolan turned around, glanced at her watch, and said with some worry, "Could something have happened?"
"Why don't you just call him?" Uncle Mori said, looking at the newspaper without looking up. "He's a grown man, and his family is well-off; he should have a cell phone, right?"
“I’ve already tried calling.” Xiaolan frowned slightly. “But his phone seems to be out of battery; I haven’t been able to get through.”
"Could it be that he's simply forgotten about it?" Uncle Mori put down his newspaper, looked up, and guessed. "Maybe he's still fast asleep in bed right now."
“Probably not…” Kōyū looked down at his phone, denying the claim. “Heiji sent me a text message at eight o’clock this morning saying that they had already set off.”
He hadn't noticed it before, but now he discovered that there was an unread text message from Heiji Hattori on his phone.
"Kazuha and I are ready to board the plane. Remember to tell Kudo to prepare a big meal for us. This time, we're going to make him bleed!"
The text message was received at 7:56 AM.
“Yes, Kousuke is right. I also called Hattori-kun’s mother before.” Ran frowned her pretty eyebrows and said, “She said they had already boarded the 8 a.m. flight.”
"Isn't this a bit too early?" Uncle Mori also sensed that something was wrong. "If we agreed to leave at 1 p.m., we could still make it even if we left at 10 a.m.
By plane, it only takes one to two hours to fly from Osaka to Tokyo.
Even if there are special circumstances that cause flight delays, three hours should be enough.
No matter what, it shouldn't be that it's still not here by 2 PM.
