"If I'm not mistaken, Ryoko Morozumi and her house should also be engulfed in flames," Mitsuyu said calmly, showing no surprise whatsoever.
“Yes.” Hattori Heiji suddenly sighed and said, “If we had continued to stay there and keep watch, this wouldn’t have happened.”
“It’s not your fault,” Guangyou comforted him. “Don’t overthink it. Your job now is to investigate this matter thoroughly.”
“I know.” Hattori Heiji calmed himself down and said firmly, “Kudo and I will investigate this matter thoroughly.”
"So what information do you have right now?" Guangyou glanced towards the kitchen, where Ai and the others were still tidying up.
He'll probably be pretty bored for a while, so it's a good opportunity to ask him about the situation and kill some time.
"After you left, we waited at the door for two hours..."
Before Hattori Heiji could finish speaking, Kōyū retorted speechlessly, "You guys actually waited outside someone's door for two whole hours... That's really boring."
"..." Hattori Heiji paused for a second, then defended himself, "We were watching the door because we thought Mrs. Morozumi was suspicious, and that's not the point."
"Go on," Kōyū casually remarked, quickly steer the conversation back on track, "Waited for two hours, and then what?"
"Remember that feng shui master?" Hattori Heiji asked in return.
"Of course I remember, isn't he the man with the mustache?" Guangyou instantly recalled the man's appearance.
At the same time, he also recalled that person's behavior and words.
"The two strands of bangs on her forehead are very distinctive. She should be between 43 and 46 years old and is currently married."
"The relationship between him and Ryoko Morozumi should be more than just that of teacher and student; the two may have an extraordinary relationship."
Upon hearing Kouyu's analysis, Hattori Heiji remained silent for a few seconds before saying, "Yes, just as you said, he does have an unusual relationship with Mrs. Morozumi."
“There really is one.” Guangyou didn’t seem surprised and replied calmly.
Out of the corner of his eye, he inadvertently caught sight of Ai helping to tidy up in the kitchen, and only then did Shiki's expression change slightly.
A smile appeared on his face, and the corners of his lips turned up slightly.
"Yes, we waited outside for two hours and found that the feng shui master hadn't come out after going in, so we went in to check on the situation."
Hattori Heiji was still a little embarrassed when the topic came up.
After all, he had entered someone else's yard without their permission and had eavesdropped on their conversation.
"I happened to overhear his conversation with Mrs. Zhujiao and learned that there was an unusual relationship between the two of them, and that the man had been looking for a videotape to prove their relationship."
"The two did not argue. After exchanging a few words, Mrs. Moroko left."
After hearing the general outline of the incident, Guangyou nodded.
Just as he was about to speak, he heard Hattori Heiji say again, "Oh, by the way, that man and Mr. Morozumi seem to be college classmates."
“So there’s this connection.” Kōyū remained calm and composed, his emotions unchanged. “Then you can focus your investigation on Mr. Morozumi and that man.”
“I know,” Hattori Heiji said again, “but before the incident, we saw the two of them go out drinking together. Unless they were working together, they shouldn’t have had the time to commit the crime.”
"I'll leave this to you to investigate. I just came to ask about the situation." Guangyou wasn't very interested in the case; getting a general idea was enough for him.
He still has to try on clothes later, and I wonder what style Ai bought for him.
"What a pity..." Guangyou suddenly sighed.
"What's a pity?" Hattori Heiji asked instinctively.
"It's a pity you're out investigating and won't be able to have such a delicious dinner." Kōyū sighed, as if he really felt sorry for Conan and Hattori Heiji.
"I was planning to prepare a big meal for you. I even bought all the groceries, but you weren't here."
As if in a difficult position, Guangyou took a deep breath before saying, "There's no other way, I'll have to take care of your share."
After hearing this, Hattori Heiji remained silent for a moment before asking, "Are you even speaking human language?"
"Alright, I won't say anything more. You're still out investigating cases so late, thank you for your hard work."
Hattori Heiji felt much better after the sudden change in attitude.
He wanted to say something like "It's what a detective should do," but before he could speak, Kōyū said, "You guys keep investigating, and I need to get on with my dinner too."
"???" Hattori Heiji's feelings suddenly became somewhat complicated.
"Okay, I'll hang up now."
Before hanging up the phone, Guangyou sighed again.
...
Hearing the disconnection notification from his phone, Hattori Heiji had something he didn't know whether he should say or not.
However, he knew it would be useless to speak, because the other party couldn't hear him.
Let's continue investigating the case.
"Hattori, what did Mitsuyu say to you? Why do you look like that?" Conan asked, puzzled.
"It's nothing," Hattori Heiji said, not wanting to delve deeper into the topic. "Let's continue the investigation; the case is more important."
"Um."
Just as the two were about to go and investigate the surrounding area, they suddenly heard a young male voice behind them.
"Mom, see? I told you so! The red horse that will cause a fire is coming!"
