Chapter 789 Do you need a tent?

"You..." Kōyū smiled and reached out to gently pinch Ai's nose.

"What's wrong?" Ai looked calmly at Kyou. If it weren't for her slightly flushed cheeks, she might have really covered it up.

Instead of exposing Ai's true colors, Kōyū smiled and changed the subject, "How about I sing you a cheerful song?"

"No need, let's finish the song." Ai was actually just feeling a bit emotional because of that lyric.

She herself still really liked that song.

"Okay." Kōyū nodded, readjusted his posture, placed his hands on the strings, and said to Ai, "Shall we start singing from the beginning?"

There was no response, but Kōyū understood what Ai meant.

Accompanied by the gentle trembling of the strings, a soothing prelude filled the room.

Compared to the original song, which has a slightly melancholic melody, Kwang-yu's version is more upbeat.

It wasn't just because he didn't want Ai to feel that sadness, but also because his current mood made him not want to play the original song.

Why ruin a perfectly good atmosphere?

“The ever-extending shadows lie side by side on the red brick path…”

"Walking with you in this twilight..."

The two sang a song, bathed in the afterglow of the setting sun, with smiles on their faces.

When she sang the previous line, Ai remembered what Kousuke had said earlier, and instead of stopping mid-song like before.

She simply rested her head on Guangyou's shoulder and sang softly.

"Whether it's a night of smiles or tears..."

"I will always be by your side..."

Just as he was singing this line, Kwang-woo turned his head and glanced at Ai Haibara before turning his gaze back to the window.

He suddenly remembered that night: snowflakes kept falling from the sky, and as he sang, he suddenly felt emotional and shed a few tears.

But those few tears were worth it.

"Pure white snowflakes piled up on this street..."

"Quietly, we drew memories on our chests..."

"From this day forward, I will always be with you..."

The song ended quickly, and after Guangyou finished singing, he slowly closed his eyes, seemingly still immersed in the song.

A moment later, Kōyū opened his eyes and asked Ai, "Ai, is there any other song you want to hear?"

"That's enough for today, you can rest for a while," Ai said, sitting up straight. "There'll be plenty of time in the future."

"That's true." Guangyou replied with a smile, and instead of putting the guitar away immediately, he loosened the strings first.

After all, who knows when the next performance will be?

This violin isn't cheap, so it's best to take good care of it.

After loosening the strings, Guangyou stood up and put the guitar away.

"Ai, how about we go downstairs for some fresh air?" Kōyū checked the time and figured dinner wouldn't be ready for a while.

"Mmm." Ai responded and got up to close the window a little smaller.

Only a small gap was left so that a gentle breeze could blow in.

Then she walked over to Guangyou and said to him, "Let's go."

As soon as he opened the door, Kōyū heard Kazuha's voice, "Kōyū, what was the name of the song you just sang?"

“It’s called ‘Snow Flower’,” Kwang-yu replied.

"It sounds so nice."

Just as she finished speaking, Kazuha seemed to suddenly remember something and added, "Kuangyou, you sang very well too."

"My singing was just so-so, but the song itself is really good." Guangyou said modestly, then looked at Xiaolan.

"Sister Xiaolan, I'm going downstairs for some fresh air. Is there anything you need me to bring?"

"No." Xiaolan shook her head, smiled, and said, "You guys go play, just don't go too far."

"Then let's go down."

"Um."

...

A few minutes later, Guangyou sat on a swing in the park. The swing swayed back and forth, creating a gentle breeze that felt extremely comfortable on his face.

Ai sat on the swing next to him, swinging very little. It was more like sitting on a swing than swinging.

While swinging on the swing, Guangyou suddenly felt his phone vibrate in his pocket.

After stabilizing the swing with his feet on the ground, Guangyou took out his phone and glanced at it.

"Ai, are you going camping?" After reading the text message, Kōyū turned to Ai and explained to her.

"The professor said he's taking Ayumi and the others camping in a couple of days, so he asked if we wanted to come along."

"Are you going?" Ai asked back.

"Me..." Guangyou thought for a moment. He had nothing to do recently, so he would definitely have time. Going wouldn't be a bad idea.

If you're camping...

I'll probably go.

After hearing what Kousuke said, Ai nodded and said, "Then I'll go too."

"Then I'll talk to the professor." Kōyū typed out a text message and sent it to Professor Agasa, then put his phone away.

After putting away his phone, Kōyū turned to Ai and asked, "By the way, Ai, would you like to share a tent with me later?"

Gazing at the setting sun on the horizon, Ai's tone was as calm as her expression, "Don't think about these things."

"I just want to look at the stars with you tonight," Guangyou tried to persuade him.

We'll talk about it later.

"oh."

...

A dozen minutes later, seeing that it was about time, Kōyū took Ai and headed towards the agency.

Downstairs at the office, Kōyū ran into Conan and Hattori Heiji, who were returning from outside.

"You guys went to eat takoyaki?" Kōyū glanced at the milk tea in their hands, then noticed the bonito flakes next to Hattori Heiji's mouth, and asked.

"Hmm." Conan took a sip of milk tea, nodded, and said, "Didn't I promise to treat him to something?"

"I see." Kōyū looked away and asked, "You just finished eating takoyaki, are you having dinner again?"

"I guess we won't eat it," Conan replied, taking another sip of his milk tea.

"Oh." Guangyou pointed upstairs and said, "I remember Xiaolan wanted to prepare a lavish dinner for you a couple of days ago."

That was all the talk, but Conan understood what Mitsuyu meant.

Two days ago, Xiaolan said she would treat He Ye and the others well, but because of a case, she could only wait until the case was over.

Now that the case is closed...

That means...

After thinking for a moment, Conan remembered that when he went out with Heiji Hattori this afternoon, Kazuha and Ran seemed to be preparing to go out as well.

"It's okay, I'll talk to Ran later." After saying this to Conan, Kouyu and Ai went upstairs.

As soon as I pushed open the door to the third floor, a delicious aroma wafted towards me.

"It smells delicious." Kōyū and Ai entered the living room and glanced at the dining table, where several dishes were already laid out.

Both its color and aroma are excellent.

"Kuangyou, go wash your hands with Ai," Ran's voice came from the kitchen. "We can eat in a little while."

"good."
