Upon hearing this, Kōyū clapped his hands and said, "To be able to escape from Miwako-neechan's clutches is quite impressive."
Takagi was also embarrassed: "When we were escorting him to headquarters, we encountered a minor collision between a motorcycle and a truck. Officer Sato went to handle the accident, and then, when I wasn't paying attention, the suspect who was sitting next to me ran away."
Guangyou nodded and said matter-of-factly, "Then it's alright, it's not surprising that the suspect got away."
"Am I really that bad?" Takagi felt frustrated. "I'm a proper detective, for goodness' sake!"
Takagi tried to defend herself: "He seemed very calm the whole way, I had no idea he would escape!"
This explanation was so weak that Ayumi said disdainfully, "How stupid!"
The shadow in Takagi's heart grew larger once again.
"Actually, he's just a pushover, very trusting, not stupid," Guangyou said earnestly.
The shadow in Takagi's heart grew larger and larger.
The group entered the building next door and found themselves in an art museum, but the museum was completely empty, which puzzled them.
Kōyū stroked his chin: "I remember the professor has been researching a really beautiful bomb recently, supposedly for demolishing buildings. Could it be the art museum?"
"What?!"
Upon hearing the news that the art museum might be bombed, everyone quickly sprang into action, preparing to find Miwako and the suspect and then evacuate as soon as possible.
Just then, Miwako, who was somewhere, seemed to hear the noise in the corridor and hurriedly called out Takagi's name.
Following the sound, Takagi arrived at the men's restroom door, his expression somewhat strange.
When he pushed open the door and saw Miwako waving at him from the toilet stall, his expression became even more strange. Takagi asked, "Officer Sato, what are you doing here? Where is the suspect?"
Miwako blushed slightly and said shyly, "The suspect has been caught, but there was an accidental problem."
Takagi looked into the cubicle and saw Miwako and the suspect, who looked utterly hopeless, handcuffed together. The suspect's hands were wrapped around the toilet, trapping Miwako and him inside the cubicle.
Takagi hesitated for a moment: "Officer Sato, you didn't forget your keys, did you?"
Under Takagi's "expectant" gaze, Miwako slowly nodded: "It's not that I didn't bring it, it's just that I think I lost it."
Takagi's feelings were complicated. On one hand, there was Miwako, who was trapped, and on the other hand, there was the art museum that was about to be blown up. It felt like a herd of alpacas was stampeding through Takagi's mind.
