After deciding on the gesture, [Conan's gesture deduction] officially began.
He first tugged at the hem of Yamamura's clothes, and when Yamamura looked over, he laughed a few times and then held up four fingers to Yamamura.
"Huh?" Yamamura Misao looked at Conan's actions with a puzzled expression.
What are they doing?
Want me to tell a joke?
"Conan, what are you doing?" Ran asked, confused about Conan's intentions.
"Is he trying to play a game of 'he makes a gesture, and we guess'?" Sonoko thought for a moment and then guessed.
Conan had anticipated everyone's reaction. He calmly picked up a dorayaki from the plate and pointed at it.
"Dorayaki?" Sonoko frowned slightly, wondering what Conan was thinking.
"It should be... a snack." Kōyū also picked up a dorayaki, tore open the packaging, took a bite, and was guessing in his mind.
However, he didn't say it.
First, Kwang-woo wasn't sure if his guess was correct.
Secondly, it's fine if it's incorrect, but if it's correct, then once he says it out loud, the fun of this reasoning will be greatly reduced.
Although it will take a lot of time, this reasoning process allows everyone to participate personally.
It's like solving a math problem. First, find the information hidden in the problem, figure out the solution, and then follow the steps in order.
Finally, the answer is obtained.
This gives people a special sense of satisfaction.
Reasoning is similar; it involves first finding clues hidden at or around the scene, and then connecting all the clues.
Finally, the truth came to light.
This sense of satisfaction fascinates Conan.
He's like those students addicted to math problems; the more difficult the problem, the more interested he becomes.
The more difficult the problem, the greater the sense of satisfaction after solving it.
This time, Conan couldn't use his usual methods to deduce the truth because he had lost his voice.
But this time, others who used to only watch from the sidelines were able to participate as well.
As long as Conan's gestures can be correctly interpreted and the truth deduced, everyone involved in the deduction will feel a sense of satisfaction.
That's not bad, actually.
Then, Conan held the dorayaki packaging in his mouth, making a "one" gesture with one hand and a "four" gesture with the other.
"You want to eat fourteen dorayaki?" Uncle Mori asked casually, propping his chin up with one hand and watching Conan's actions.
"..." Conan waved his hand speechlessly.
"..." Kōyū was also speechless. Although he could tell that Uncle Mori was guessing randomly, it was still a bit too casual.
However, I must say, they do look somewhat alike.
“Snacks...1, 4…” Xiaolan tapped her chin with her finger, pondering whether there was some connection between the three.
Hearing this, Conan's face immediately broke into a smile again. He nodded to Ran, indicating that she was going in the right direction.
"If I'm not mistaken, what Conan was trying to say at the beginning was..." Sonoko recalled Conan's previous actions and guessed.
"'Want to laugh 4'? Is that what you mean?"
“What the heck is ‘I want to laugh 4’?” Kōyū glanced at Sonoko, his lips twitching, thinking, “It should be ‘very strange’, right?”
In Japanese:
The kana for "snack" is "おかし", and the romanization is "o ka shi".
The kana for “1” is “いち”, and its romanization is “i chi”.
The kana for “4” is “よん”, and its romanization is “yon”.
Reading these three together, it becomes "okashii yo," which contains the meaning of "strange."
This is probably what Conan wanted to convey.
Although Sonoko guessed wrong, at least the direction is right now. After thinking for a moment, Conan snapped his fingers.
He put on a regretful expression, as if he had almost scored.
"I understand!" Ran saw it and immediately understood. "Conan, you mean 'it's strange,' right?"
"Mmm!" Conan nodded repeatedly, responding with a nasal tone.
"Strange?" Uncle Mori asked, frowning. "But what's strange about it?"
Then Conan reached out and pointed to the pot of curry in the kitchen.
"Oh, I see." Kōyū glanced in the direction Conan was pointing and understood.
He originally thought Conan meant to say, "This case is suspicious, it's not suicide."
But in addition to that, Conan also wanted to express that "there was too much curry in that pot, which is suspicious."
"The curry was a bit spicy, but it was really delicious." Sonoko asked, somewhat puzzled, "What's so strange about it?"
“Conan probably means there’s too much curry,” Kōyū said, glancing at the pot of curry.
"There was so much food that even with so many of us, we still couldn't finish it."
"Ai and I ate one and a half plates together."
"Sister Xiaolan and Sister Yuanzi each eat one plate."
"My uncle ate three plates by himself."
"The old man on the second floor and Uncle Kuanren each ate a plate."
After Kōsuke said those words, Akashi Hiroto felt a pang of anxiety, but he remained outwardly calm.
"Now that you mention it, it does seem a bit strange." Uncle Mori lowered his hand from his chin, his expression becoming slightly more serious.
Even someone as unassuming as Cai Rushancuncao realized something was wrong, and he asked Mingzhi Kuanren:
"If I remember correctly, Mr. Mori and the others came here tonight seeking your help by chance, right?"
