"Yes." Xiaolan nodded in agreement. "Hopefully, they can catch the murderer soon."
After the two finished speaking, Yamamura Misao said, "However, we did not find any traces of rope in the deceased's mouth."
"Well..." Sonoko fell into deep thought.
There should be traces left, right?
How could it not be found?
Was her reasoning wrong?
That shouldn't be the case.
Just as Sonoko was still thinking, Conan took out the handkerchief he used to wipe his nose from his pocket and gestured to Sonoko.
Sonoko happened to see Conan's actions and immediately understood:
"It's a handkerchief!"
"Didn't they say there was a handkerchief with curry stains lying next to the corpse?"
“Yes.” Yamamura Misao nodded, then asked, puzzled, “What’s the connection between that handkerchief and what you just said?”
"Of course there is." Uncle Mori glanced at Yamamura Misao, who still hadn't figured it out despite what he'd said so clearly, and explained to him.
"Just wrap the rope in a handkerchief and then let Mr. Yanfu bite it."
"If you do that, there won't be any rope marks left in your mouth."
Seeing that everyone understood what he meant, Conan nodded repeatedly.
It seems this method is feasible.
Although some minor mishaps occurred during the process, the train to the truth eventually got back on track.
"So that's how it is." Yamamura Misao looked like he had learned something new.
"However, when the body was found, its hands weren't bound," Uncle Mori questioned. "In that case..."
"As long as you grab the rope with your free hands, you can shout for help."
Although marks resembling binding were found on the wrists of the body, the hands were not found to be bound when the body was discovered.
Furthermore, Hiroto Akashi had previously mentioned that his father had a habit of tying rubber bands to his hands.
Many rubber bands were also found under the pillow in the bedroom.
This method is indeed feasible, but it won't work if this problem isn't solved.
"Furthermore, the light in that bedroom was on an hour and a half ago, but it was turned off when the body was found," Uncle Mori questioned again.
"No one went to that room during that time, so how could the light have been turned off? It couldn't have been Mr. Yan who turned it off, could it?"
He explained all the loopholes in this method.
Only by filling these loopholes can this modus operandi be established.
"That makes sense," Yamamura Misao said, also feeling somewhat puzzled. "Could it be that the murderer in this case is someone from outside?"
Strangely, no signs of intrusion by outsiders were found at the scene.
Whether on the second floor or the first floor, there were no signs that any windows or doors in the entire house had been forcibly opened.
Police also did not find any other fingerprints on the edge of the window or on the door; there might have been fingerprints, but they didn't find them.
At least for now, they have not found any clues to prove that an outsider broke in.
Therefore, it is highly unlikely that an outsider would enter the house to commit the crime.
Seeing everyone deep in thought, Hiroto Akashi secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, he thought of that mechanism.
As long as the organization remains undiscovered, he can use other excuses to cover up everything that happened before.
But just then, Conan suddenly climbed onto the table, reached out, and pulled the light cord.
"Snap!"
The lights dimmed slightly, and Akashi Hiroto became a little nervous.
The sound was to him like the footsteps of a hunter.
"Conan, you can't move around like that!" Ran, unaware of Conan's thoughts, quickly spoke up to stop him.
When Uncle Mori saw Conan's actions, he paused for a moment, as if he had thought of something.
Then, Conan not only didn't stop, but pulled the light cord twice more.
"Pat! Pat!"
The lights dimmed a little more, then disappeared completely, plunging the entire room into darkness.
"Snap!"
With another sound, the lights came back on.
Sitting back down, Kwang-woo tore open the plastic bag of the dorayaki he had grabbed while pulling the light cord and took a bite.
Beside her, Ai poured water for Kousuke and started reading a book she had just randomly picked from the bookshelf.
One of them would occasionally step in to offer reminders and correct the direction of the reasoning, while the other simply didn't want to get involved.
"It's a pity that my hard-earned vacation has been ruined again."
"Fortunately, this case should be coming to an end soon."
As if he mistook the dorayaki for Hiroto Akashi, who had ruined their vacation, Kōyū took a big, hard bite.
"Conan, how could you play such a prank?" Ran quickly got up and lifted Conan off the table.
"I understand." Uncle Mori figured it out; he knew how to fill those two gaps.
"Tie your hands together with the light cord from the light bulb, and then tie a bow."
"That way, when Mr. Yan Fu runs out of strength, he will loosen the rope in his mouth and his body will fall down."
"When you're being hoisted up, it's like pulling a light cord, and the light goes out naturally, and the bow comes undone."
"That's why the body was in that state when we found it."
"So the fine marks on Mr. Yanfu's wrists are indeed traces left when he was tied up?" Yamamura Misao continued.
"If nothing unexpected happens, that should be the case," Uncle Mori nodded and said.
"But this kind of light has three brightness levels," Ran asked doubtfully. "Conan pulled the light cord three times before the light went out."
