Chapter 971 The Meaning of "X"

At this moment, Ran's cheeks flushed slightly, and her expectant gaze fell on Conan.

Conan wanted to tell Ran that the call was a wrong number, but seeing her expression, he couldn't bring himself to shake his head.

He's not lacking in emotional intelligence; he just occasionally loses focus.

Looking at Xiaolan's expression, how could he possibly tell her the truth?

"It's that detective kid again!" Uncle Mori couldn't help but curl his lip when he heard the name. "I really don't know what's so good about that brat."

"Dad!" Xiaolan said, sounding a little unhappy.

"Really." Uncle Mori was even more annoyed when he saw his daughter defending the detective kid, but he didn't say anything.

He took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from his pocket, pulled one out, put it in his mouth, and asked, "Officer Yamamura, do you mind if I smoke a cigarette?"

"I don't mind..."

Before he could finish speaking, Yamamura Misao heard Uncle Mori say, "Thank you."

"I don't mind."

At this point, Yamamura Misao was able to finish his sentence.

"I know," Uncle Mori said, then lit his cigarette with a lighter.

To prevent the car from becoming filled with smoke, he opened the window, leaned against it, took a drag, and then exhaled a puff of smoke.

"Conan, did Shinichi say anything to you?" Ran turned to look at Conan and asked again.

When Ran asked him a question, Conan smiled, placed his hands on his chest, made an X with his hands, and finally put his hands together.

What he meant to express was:

He said, 'I'm sorry I made you worry.'

But Xiaolan didn't read it aloud.

Her reading comprehension skills, which she displayed last night, have vanished at this moment.

From Conan's gestures, what Ran read was completely unrelated to what Conan originally intended to express; they were two entirely different things.

The misinterpretation made Xiaolan's face turn even redder.

"Sister Xiaolan, what's wrong?" Guangyou, who was watching the melon on the side, asked when he saw Xiaolan's change.

Judging from Xiaolan's expression, she's definitely shy.

Could it be that Conan said something embarrassing to Ran?

I never expected that.

I never imagined that Conan would do something like this behind the scenes.

On the surface, he is incredibly shy, blushing whenever the two are close, but in reality, he is a pervert.

He said embarrassing things to the woman before the relationship was even established.

Thinking of this, Kōyū gave Conan a disdainful look, leaving the latter somewhat bewildered.

"It's nothing." Xiaolan shook her head, blushing. How could she possibly tell Guangyou something like this?

"Tsk..." Seeing Ran's reaction, Kōyū became even more certain of his thoughts, and his gaze showed even more "disdain" for Conan.

"..." Conan felt that he was very innocent. He made those gestures because he didn't want to disappoint Ran.

But why is Ran reacting this way, and why does Kōyū look down on him?

Was it because the meaning of his gesture was misunderstood?

If his throat hadn't hurt, he would have spoken already.

However, given the current situation, he still has to speak up.

Seeing the blush on Ran's face, Sonoko's gossipy nature was ignited. She leaned closer to Ran, a smile on her face, and asked curiously:

"Xiaolan, what's wrong? Why is your face so red?"

What did Shinichi say?

Did he confess his feelings to you?

"..." Xiaolan was taken aback by the barrage of questions. Her face was still flushed, and she explained to Sonoko.

"Huh? X?" Sonoko looked surprised. "I didn't expect Shinichi to tell you this."

The two of them were speaking in riddles, and Conan had no idea what they were saying.

What "X"?

Is it an "X" that represents a kiss?

The "X" he made wasn't meant to mean "kiss".

But when he thought of this, Conan's thoughts suddenly paused. A scene flashed through his mind, and then his face turned red.

"That expression clearly shows he's thinking about something inappropriate." Kōyū glanced at the blushing Conan, thinking, "X? Does that mean kissing?"

However, it was clear that they were both wrong. Sonoko tapped her chin with her finger, pondered for a moment, and then said:

"X? I remember the vertical difference is about seventy centimeters, right?"

As she spoke, Sonoko looked Ran up and down, her gaze finally settling on the area above her stomach and below her head. Then she asked:

"Xiao Lan, do you have one?"

"How could that be!" Ran said shyly. "You know what Sonoko is all about!"

“That’s true.” Sonoko looked away, nodded, and then guessed, “Could it be that Shinichi wants you to become like that?”

"Yuanzi!" Xiaolan was very shy. This kind of topic involves a girl's privacy. It's fine for the two of them to talk about it in private, but there are other people in the car now!

"Don't worry, I don't think Shinichi meant that," Sonoko said, waving her hand calmly.

"Why don't you text him back and ask him? He probably wouldn't say something like that."

"Hmm, I'll ask him later." Ran thought so too; based on her understanding of Shinichi, this kind of talk didn't seem like something he would say.

The two continued to speak in riddles, and Conan still couldn't understand, but Mitsuyu guessed some of it from Sonoko's words.

"Speaking of which..." It felt a bit awkward for a boy like Guangyou to talk about this, so he said it very tactfully, "It's not that kind of thing, is it?"

"Which one?" Ai asked, somewhat puzzled by Kousuke's words.

"It's just..." Kōyū whispered into Ai's ear, "It's just that you need a size to buy certain clothes."
