Chapter 974 It's unfair, I want it too!

"What's the point of applying now?" Ai raised an eyebrow, glanced at Kōyū, and her eyes held a hint of reproach.

That fleeting moment of allure almost made Guangyou repeat what he had just done.

"If I don't agree, can you take it back?" Ai asked, pointing to the spot on her face where she had been kissed.

"No." Guangyou forced down his smile and answered with a serious expression.

"So what's the point of you applying now?" Ai rolled her eyes at Kōyū, and as she turned to look at the computer screen, the corners of her lips curled up slightly.

"It's really not very useful." Guangyou chuckled twice, looking at the delicate profile illuminated by the screen's glow, and couldn't help but lean forward and steal another kiss.

When Ai was kissed again, she was stunned for a second. After regaining her senses, she let go of the mouse in her hand, turned her head, and looked coldly at Kousuke.

There was no smile on her face, her gaze was icy, and she looked as if she were truly angry.

And the curve of Guangyou's lips gradually turned into a line.

But he didn't let go of Ai's arms. Ai seemed to have forgotten about it and didn't bring it up.

The two stared at each other for a moment. Ai turned her head away expressionlessly, controlled the mouse to close the experimental record document, and then clicked a few more times to create a new document.

Then, under Kōyū's gaze, Ai's fingers tapped on the keyboard.

Accompanied by the crisp sound of keyboard clicks, a line of bold, large black characters appeared on the dimly lit computer screen.

Like the title:

"APTX4869 Permanent Antidote Human Experimentation Program".

Next are characters of normal size:

Name: Guangyou

Gender: Male

Experimental results: ...

The experimental results were all blank – because the experiment hadn't started yet and no data had been measured.

After finishing typing, Ai turned to look at Kousuke, her gaze still cold, as if she was still angry with him.

This is in conjunction with the content of that document.

It's not hard to guess that Ai means, "If the explanation doesn't satisfy me, then I'll use you as a human experiment."

The drug being tested is a permanent cure that has not yet shown any progress.

It's the kind of food that could potentially kill you.

A strong sense of threat was palpable.

But was Ai really angry?

The answer is clearly no.

However, she was indeed throwing a little tantrum at Kwang-woo in her own way.

Otherwise, Ai wouldn't have let Kousuke hold her.

"Ai, I'll be more careful next time." Kōyū knew he wasn't angry, but he still spoke earnestly and apologetically.

Seeing Kōyū's expression, Ai, who wasn't as angry as him to begin with, softened her expression and said:

"It's nothing, I just feel it's a bit unfair..."

“Fair?” Kōyū understood the meaning behind the words. He looked at Ai, a smile flashing across his face, but it quickly disappeared.

"Are you saying...you want to do the same to me?"

"Is it not okay?" Ai looked at Kousuke, her cheeks slightly flushed, but she still met his gaze.

When this topic comes up, it's natural for a girl like her, whose only romantic relationship is with the name "Guangyou," to feel awkward.

"So when are you planning to ask?" Guangyou laughed at himself as soon as he asked, "Haha... I forgot, I forgot, things change once you say it."

"I'll go get a glass of water." Ai patted the hands that Kōyū was holding her with, signaling him to let go.

Once Guangyou let go of her hands, she got up and left the basement.

"This girl..." Guangyou glanced at the document, which was blank except for the title, name, and gender...

Remembering what Ai had just said and the expression on her face when she threw a tantrum, he shook his head with a mixture of helplessness and satisfaction.

"Why do I like it so much!"

"Speaking of which, when are you going to ambush me?"

After Kōyū imagined several scenarios of Ai sneaking up on him, Ai pushed open the door, placed the water on the table next to Kōyū, and said:

"Your water."

"Mm." There was no need for such formalities between Kōyū and Ai, so he nodded, picked up his water glass, and took a sip.

"I'm going to do some research." Ai said, taking a white lab coat from the rack next to her and putting it on.

"Then I'll be going now." Kōyū was about to finish his water in one gulp and leave, so that Ai could focus on her research.

But just as he brought the teacup to his lips, he heard Ai say:

"What? Can't I stand being here any longer?"

It sounded like she was expressing dissatisfaction with Kōyū, but she was actually saying to Kōyū, "You don't need to leave."

"I just wanted to..." Guangyou said halfway through his sentence before realizing the meaning behind his words and immediately correcting himself.

"I just wanted to say... how could I not be able to stay?"

Without giving it much thought, he looked around and pointed to the bed in the basement where Ai usually slept, saying:

"If you don't mind, I'll just sleep here tonight."

After he finished speaking, he realized something was wrong.

"No need for that," Ai said calmly, taking a sip of warm water. "If you want to stay, you can sleep on the sofa..."

"Or you can sleep on the floor; I have spare bedding here."

“Okay.” Guangyou decisively chose the latter. “I’ll sleep on the floor.”

The sofa is upstairs, so you don't have to go up to sleep on the bedding. If you're sharing a room with Ai, anyone would choose the latter.

"Hmm." Ai closed the "experiment plan" document, picked up a book from the table, and began to read it.

The development of the antidote is currently progressing very slowly.

We've done everything we could with the temporary antidote.

There is still no clue as to a permanent cure.
