Chapter 983 Truly Foolish (shuhaige.net)

Perhaps it was because I was captivated by that smile.

Kōyū, who should have turned and left to make room for Ai, remained at the doorway, watching Ai still sitting on the bed.

Seeing that he hadn't left yet, Ai stopped smiling.

She adopted her usual indifferent demeanor, looked at Guangyou, and asked:

"how?"

"Do you still want to stay here?"

"Can't you?"

As soon as he said it, Kōyū came to his senses and remembered what Ai had said earlier.

"You go up first, I'll change my clothes."

If he were still here...

No wonder Ai Haibara had that expression.

With the same expression, Ai asked in return:

What do you think?

Realizing the key point, Guangyou naturally felt a little embarrassed.

"Cough cough..."

He coughed a few times and then said:

"that..."

"I'm going upstairs first. You hurry up and change your clothes and wash up. Breakfast is ready."

After saying that, Guangyou turned and left the room.

He also closed the door for Ai.

Watching Kōyū's hurried departure, Ai couldn't help but laugh again.

She didn't look at all like she had been indifferent just a second ago.

Remembering how stunned Kōyū had been because of her, Ai smiled and said softly:

"How stupid."

Judging from this statement alone, it's clear that he's disliking Guangyou.

But looking at the smile on her face, you can tell she's in a good mood, and that her words weren't meant to be disdainful.

Without thinking further, she drank the water in the cup in one gulp, put the cup aside, lifted the blanket, got out of bed, and changed her clothes.

Then, she took the cup and left her room.

...

"I'm full," Professor Agasa said, putting down his chopsticks, wiping the food residue from his mouth with a napkin.

"I'm going to the lab now."

“Okay.” Kōyū watched as Professor Agasa put the bowls and chopsticks back on the plate and said, “Professor, you can leave them here. We’ll clean up later.”

"How could I trouble you again? Although I'm not very good at tidying up, I can still do this little thing."

After saying that, Professor Agasa took the plate with the bowls and chopsticks to the kitchen.

Before going to the research lab, he also said to Mitsuyoshi:

"Guangyou, I'll look into the firewall issue for you."

"Try to finish writing the firewall this month."

"As for the server, I'll keep an eye on it for you."

"Okay, thank you, Professor." Kōyū swallowed the food in his mouth, looked up, and thanked Professor Agasa.

"No need to thank me, it's nothing." Dr. Agasa said to Mitsuyu with a smile, then turned and walked towards the research lab.

Watching Professor Agasa's departing figure, Kōyū suddenly remembered something and said:

"It's about time we helped the Doctor solve his single status problem."

If you let Professor Agasa search for it himself, he probably won't find it.

—If he could find someone on his own, how could Professor Agasa still be single at the age of fifty-two?

He has never been in a relationship.

Based on the information that Mitsuyu currently has, this is indeed the case; Professor Agasa has never been in a relationship.

Not even once!

Such people are either celibates:

In other words, it means voluntarily choosing to never date, marry, or have children, not pursuing the opposite or same sex, and not having a life as a couple.

Or it could be due to various reasons, such as physical or mental disabilities, inability to afford it, or being unwanted by others...

In addition to this, there is another reason:

That means there's already someone in this person's heart.

I've been single for so long simply because I still miss that person, I still have feelings for them, and I'm even willing to wait for them.

Professor Agasa clearly belongs to this category.

There is someone in his heart.

Even after so many years, that figure still exists.

"So how do you plan to solve this?" Ai asked, looking at Kousuke.

"Hmm... I haven't figured out a solution yet," Kōyū said, recalling the figure that had remained in Professor Agasa's heart.

"However, a candidate has already been chosen."

If he hadn't known about Professor Agasa and Fusae, he would never have had this idea.

He certainly had candidates in mind, but he couldn't think of a way to do it.

"The Doctor's first love?" Ai quickly guessed who it was.

“Yes, it’s her.” Guangyou nodded.

"Will it work?" Ai asked with some doubt.

"If nothing unexpected happens, it will definitely work." Guangyou didn't make any absolute statements, because who knows what changes might occur in this world?

But barring any unforeseen circumstances, there shouldn't be any problems.

Sensing the confidence in Kousuke's words, Ai raised an eyebrow and said:

"It's been so many years, maybe they're already married?"

"The child may even have graduated from college by then."

Even in a shorter period of time, a lot can happen.

Not to mention that this period of time lasts for decades, enough to bring about many changes in a person.

Even childhood friends who have played together since they were young might fall in love with someone else, let alone Professor Agasa and his first love who haven't seen each other for decades.

If the other person gives up on Professor Agasa and marries another man they like, that's perfectly normal.

Without explaining much to Ai, Kousuke simply said:

"So, barring any unforeseen circumstances..."
