As if she truly believed Ai's explanation, Akemi nodded and did not ask any further questions.
She also sighed regretfully and said:
"I was even thinking of introducing one to Guangyou."
"It seems that won't work."
That sigh sounded sincere.
It was as if she really wanted to introduce Guangyou to other girls.
Unlike last time when this topic came up, he immediately got angry.
As their relationship grew more stable and deeper, their trust in Guangyou deepened, and they firmly believed that their status and position would not be affected by external factors.
In addition, she has a naturally rational approach to things.
When this topic is brought up now, Ai Haibara appears very calm.
Faced with Mingmei's joke, she calmly took a sip of her milk tea, and said as if she also felt regretful:
"That's a real shame."
"Um..."
"You should say that girl was very lucky."
Her words made it sound like missing out on Kwang-yu was a good thing.
But in Mingmei's ears, she tasted something else entirely.
—A faint smell of vinegar.
Knowing better than to say it, Akemi chuckled a few times, picked up her cup, took a sip of milk tea, and looked at Ai with a teasing gaze.
Feeling a little uncomfortable under Akemi's gaze, Ai could only hide her change in expression by drinking milk tea.
Remain calm as you are.
Even if she knew her older sister was joking and wouldn't actually introduce Guangyou to her "classmate's sister," she would still do so.
But after hearing those words, she would still imagine a few more scenes in her mind.
For example, Guangyou takes other girls to amusement parks on dates, cooks for other girls, blows their hair, and sings for them...
There are also other things like hugging other girls, confessing to other girls, kissing other girls... "testing" other girls.
You could have just said, "That's a real shame."
But the thought of those images made her feel uneasy.
So she said, "You should say that girl is very lucky."
At first, she just wanted to say that Guangyou wasn't that good, and that was all.
But now that I think about it, that sentence sounds like he was jealous.
If Guangyou is really not good, then what's wrong with her?
She just didn't get angry as obviously as she said that.
Without offering an explanation, Ai knew that the more she explained, the more obvious her jealousy would become, so she simply pretended to be calm and drank her milk tea.
Just as she had taken a few sips and was thinking of a topic to distract herself, Akemi seemed to have thought of something.
She looked curious and asked:
"Oh, right."
"Shiho, what stage have you two reached now?"
"What do you mean, what stage?" Ai looked at Akemi, her brows furrowed, and asked in confusion.
Ai is still a complete novice in this area.
She didn't react at first and didn't know what Mingmei was asking.
Seeing Ai's puzzled expression, Akemi asked in surprise:
"That's the one?"
"Don't you know?"
She had some doubts.
Is it that my younger sister doesn't understand, or that the two of them have never done such a thing before?
If it's the latter, then the progress is a bit slow.
She had accidentally stumbled upon the two of them about to do *that*.
Now that some time has passed, she still thinks the two of them have long since progressed to that point.
"I don't know." Ai shook her head, frowning as she asked, "What do you mean, what stage?"
Seeing that Ai still didn't understand, Akemi put the teacup down on the coffee table, leaned close to Ai, and whispered an explanation in her ear.
After she finished explaining, a blush crept onto Ai's cheeks.
Seeing Ai's blushing face, Akemi asked again:
"How about it?"
"Where have you two gotten to now?"
"..."
There was no response, and Ai recalled Kousuke's probing a few nights ago.
As her cheeks flushed even redder, the corners of her lips unconsciously turned up.
Although she didn't receive a verbal response, Akemi knew what was going on from her expression.
After Ai calmed down a bit, she asked again:
"Shiho."
"Have you...?"
When it came to the details, Akemi whispered the explanation in Ai's ear.
"..."
There was still no verbal response.
After a short while, Ai nodded.
Then, under Akemi's smiling gaze, she shook her head.
Now it was Akemi's turn to be puzzled.
"What do you mean?" she asked, looking at Ai, whose face was still flushed. "Has it come to that point yet?"
"I don't think so..."
After saying this with a blush on her face, Ai picked up her cup and took a sip of milk tea.
It was as if doing so could calm the turmoil in their hearts.
It had already reached that point.
But it came so suddenly that she wasn't prepared.
This led to Guangyou's failed attempt.
Akemi, however, remained calm and even commented seriously:
"No..."
"You two are really slow."
Hearing this, Ai wanted to retort.
"Still slow?"
She felt it was fast enough.
However, she did not refute it in the end, but just took another sip of milk tea.
"Hey, Shiho," Akemi said, sitting down next to Ai, speaking with the air of someone who'd been there before, "you need to take the initiative too."
"I've already been very proactive," Ai couldn't help but defend herself. "Even now, I've been the one who took the initiative."
