"Whatever you want." Guangyou didn't seem to care.
He took out the equipment he used to monitor physical conditions from his backpack, preparing to examine Shinichi Kudo's health.
"Should I make a reservation at a restaurant?" Shinichi Kudo asked, echoing Kouyu's question.
"A restaurant? It's cliché, but it's not a bad idea," Kōyū said, his hands still busy. "But why not your family library?"
Shinichi Kudo expressed his doubts about this suggestion.
He asked Guangyou:
Why do you want to go to my family library?
"Xiaolan isn't particularly interested in those books."
"And would she be more receptive to the truth if it were told in a positive atmosphere?"
"You said it yourself."
"I'm just making a suggestion; it's up to you whether you take it or not," Guangyou said, looking at the readings on the instrument. "I just feel that we can end where we start."
Upon hearing this, Shinichi Kudo opened his mouth, as if to say something.
Before he could even speak, Guangyou said to him:
"There's nothing wrong, it's normal."
"That means you can leave the hotel and return to your normal life."
"However, for the next month, you will have to get checked every two days, or if you feel unwell, whether it's a minor cold or fever, or something as serious as turning back into Conan on the spot."
"Understood," Shinichi Kudo replied.
"Okay, I'll head back then." Guangyou put the equipment back in his backpack and prepared to leave.
"What did you mean by what you just said?" Shinichi Kudo asked, voicing his doubts. "What do you mean by starting from the library?"
"Think for yourself." Guangyou didn't answer, waved his hand, and walked away without looking back.
"Begin?" Shinichi Kudo sat cross-legged on the hotel bed, frowning in thought.
...
Evening, in the Kudo residence's study.
In the spacious study, Shinichi Kudo squatted in front of the bookshelf, looking at the "Complete Works of Edogawa Ranpo" and "Selected Masterpieces of Conan Doyle" placed side by side on the bookshelf.
He figured out the answer within a minute of Guangyou leaving.
The answer isn't hard to guess.
The identity of "Conan" was born here, and it should end here as well.
After completing the formalities and leaving the hotel, he called Xiaolan and asked her to come to his study after dinner.
Strangely, before making the call, he was worried about this and that, but after making the call, he suddenly calmed down.
He thought the reason for his change in mindset was the joy in the girl's voice when she heard he was back.
"Shinichi?"
Are you home?
Upon hearing Ran's voice, Shinichi Kudo suddenly became a little nervous again.
Sure enough, her calmness just now was all fake.
...
Meanwhile, in the basement of the Agasa residence next to the Kudo residence, a figure sat side by side in front of a computer.
A picture is displayed on the computer screen.
The character in the picture is none other than Shinichi Kudo.
"Here it comes." Guangyou held a handful of sunflower seeds in his hand, his eyes glued to the screen.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Ai glanced up at the screen, then looked down at her magazine, asking without looking up:
Are you so sure he'll listen to you?
Guangyou was very confident about this. He cracked open some sunflower seeds and said:
"As long as he understands what I meant, he definitely will."
On screen, Shinichi Kudo and Ran meet.
...
"Shinichi, is there something you wanted to talk to me about today?" Ran was perceptive and could tell from Shinichi's expression that he had something on his mind.
"Lan, there's something I've been keeping from you."
"I called you here today because I want to be honest with you."
Without any preamble, Shinichi Kudo immediately got to the point and confessed to Ran.
He took out the glasses Conan wore from his pocket, and under Ran's watchful gaze, put them on. Then, he said to her, who was stunned:
"Actually, I am Conan."
...
Upon seeing this, Guangyou turned off the computer.
He installed the camera to see if Shinichi Kudo would confess. He said the rest was none of his business and that Shinichi and Ran should handle it themselves.
He sat down next to Ai, and seeing her looking at a month's worth of fashion magazines, he casually asked:
"Want to go shopping this weekend?"
“Okay.” Ai had no objection; she was planning to go anyway. “Fusae has new products this week; we can go check them out.”
"I wonder how things are going between Aunt Fusa and the Doctor."
When the brand Fusa E is mentioned, Kōyū thinks of Fusa E and Professor Agasa.
At the same time, he recalled that when he came over earlier, Professor Agasa looked all dressed up and ready to go out.
"Did the Doctor make plans to go out with Aunt Fusae today?"
"Looks pretty good."
Ai, while reading the magazine, recalled the conversation she had just overheard and asked Kōyū in a teasing tone:
"By the way, are you hiding something from me?"
"Yes," Guangyou thought for a moment and gave an affirmative answer.
Upon hearing this, Ai raised an eyebrow, wanting to look up, but ultimately did not.
Judging from her expression, Guangyou knew she was curious.
So he moved closer to Ai and asked:
Want to know?
"I don't want to." Ai's tone remained unchanged as she continued reading her magazine.
"You really don't want to?" Guangyou couldn't see through her thoughts, so he continued to ask.
"Say it if you want to, don't say it if you don't want to." Ai closed the magazine and looked up at Kōyū.
