I'm Just Panning for Gold, What Does the Gold Price Drop Have to Do with Me?

Financial crisis, big salary cuts, fresh graduates fighting fiercely for a job paying only 1,200 yuan. Fresh graduate Chen Feng couldn't stand the gap and became a loafer at home, smoking and d...

Chapter 10 has started ringing again!

I searched all day and found nothing but silver, but I didn't see a single piece of gold.

No matter how much gold it is, at least let yourself take a look at it.

After all, today is my first day out trying to make my fortune, so I should have a great start.

Chen Feng looked at his companions who had already gathered together, sighed, and walked over.

It's alright if there's nothing. Although there's no gold, finding a bunch of silver is not bad either; it's a very good haul.

Soon everyone gathered together and chatted about what they had accomplished that day.

"Not bad, I did well this afternoon and found two small silver coins."

"I only managed to find one. I estimate that after deducting transportation costs, I'll only make a dozen or so yuan today. Sigh."

"Me too, has anyone here found gold?"

Everyone looked at each other and shook their heads.

"What a pity, another day without any gold." Someone sighed, saying with some regret.

Zheng Ping looked at Chen Feng and asked curiously, "How many silver coins did you find today? Although it's your first day panning for gold, you've probably earned the most today. You're really lucky."

"How many pills? I didn't count them, just about a bottle's worth," Chen Feng said after thinking for a moment.

Everyone was going to the county town to sell their harvest, so this kind of thing couldn't be hidden. Chen Feng didn't intend to hide it and simply confessed.

"A small bottle?!" Zheng Ping's eyes widened upon hearing this, and even his tone changed slightly.

He figured that even if Chen Feng had the best luck that day, he'd probably only get seven or eight grains, which would already be quite a lot.

To my utter surprise, this kid actually managed to find a small bottle, with who knows how many pills it contained.

What incredible luck you have! Could this be the legendary innate gold-digging physique? Holy crap!

"Fengzi, you're not kidding, are you? You really bought a whole bottle?!"

His companions were also stunned upon hearing this, staring at Chen Feng in disbelief.

"Why would I lie to you? Look."

Chen Feng took the small bottle out of his pocket, and the bottle, which was almost full of silver granules, immediately appeared in front of everyone.

"Holy crap, it's a whole bottle!"

"My goodness, how much would this cost? At least three or four hundred?"

"Is three or four hundred enough? It would definitely be more than four hundred."

"Holy crap, how did you even find this? We pan for gold by the grain, and you're selling it by the bottle? What the hell?"

Song Hui stared at the small bottle of silver, his eyes practically blazing with jealousy.

If only this were his, he would definitely buy a box of Yuxi cigarettes to celebrate when he gets home today, and maybe a couple of pig's trotters as well.

Just as they were marveling at Chen Feng, Huang Fei pulled up in his van a little ahead of them.

He rolled down the window and looked at them gathered together, his eyes full of curiosity.

They used to stand here patiently and wait for me, but what's going on today? Why is it different from usual?

Did they release something good?

He was also a trustworthy person, and upon seeing this, he immediately got out of the car.

"What are you doing? What are you looking at?" Huang Fei squeezed in and asked.

"Do you know how much silver Chen Feng made today? Holy crap, a whole bottle!"

Upon seeing him arrive, someone quickly spoke up.

"What? A whole bottle?" Huang Fei was immediately shocked. He drove them around every day and knew exactly what they had gotten.

If you manage to find a few pieces of silver in a day, that's considered extremely lucky. But what on earth did Chen Feng do on his first gold panning trip? He found a whole bottle of gold!

"Really? Let me see!" Huang Fei quickly took the small bottle from Chen Feng's hand and looked at it.

"Holy crap, did you find all of this today?" Huang Fei looked at Chen Feng in disbelief.

"Yes," Chen Feng said with a smile.

"Wow, you're amazing! You're a natural at this. You managed to find so many on your first visit," Huang Fei said, his voice filled with amazement.

"It's alright, just lucky." Chen Feng took the small bottle and smiled.

"Damn, you're incredibly lucky! These guys have been searching all day and haven't gotten as much as you, have they?" Huang Fei asked, looking at the crowd.

The group looked at each other, considered it for a moment, and then shook their heads.

Even all of them combined wouldn't be enough for one bottle; Chen Feng himself only had one bottle.

They couldn't help but sigh, "The difference between people is just too big! We're all out here to make our fortune, so why are you so outstanding?"

"Alright, you've hit the jackpot today. Let's go back now." Huang Fei waved them over with his car keys and invited them to get in.

I still have to drive to the county town today. Including their sales trip, I estimate I won't get home until almost eight o'clock.

"Okay, let's go."

Everyone chimed in, saying that they were all exhausted after a long day, and the little bit of food they had eaten at noon had long been digested. They were all thinking about going home for a hot meal.

As everyone walked, they packed up their things, taking off their headsets and unplugging the wires. Chen Feng was at the back, doing the same thing, tying the wires and headset to the metal detector, ready to pack up and get into the car.

Just as he reached the car, Chen Feng suddenly paused, looked up at his companions queuing to board with surprise in his eyes.

His system suddenly alerted him that there was precious metal within a three-meter radius!

"Come on, Fengzi, why are you standing there like that?" Zheng Ping, sitting by the window, leaned out and said to Chen Feng, who was standing by the car.

"I think I heard my machine start running, wait for me a moment." After saying that, Chen Feng unwrapped the wire and prepared to get to work.

He was certain there was something under his feet; it definitely wasn't a system malfunction.

Because he had already tried it, everyone had some silver on them, but even if Chen Feng was close by, the system wouldn't give a notification.

The system will only alert you to unclaimed metal underground!

"What the heck? Are you sure your machine made a sound, or you misheard?" Zheng Ping said, somewhat incredulously.

Could it be that just as they were about to get on the bus and leave, Chen Feng discovered another shipment?

Everyone heard Chen Feng's words and peeked out.

"Fengzi, really? You're talking about goods again?"

"Damn, what luck you have! I've been here talking with my equipment for ages and haven't gotten anything, but you come here and have something right away?"

Seeing that Chen Feng had already turned on the machine and started scanning, and since everyone was stuck sitting there anyway, they all got down to watch Chen Feng make a scene.

"Fengzi, where did that noise come from?" Zheng Ping came down with a shovel, wanting to help him find it.

"I forgot too. The sound was very faint, and it was nearby," Chen Feng replied while scanning the area.

After all, he couldn't say that the system notified him that there was stock, so he started exploring; he could only give a vague answer.

Chen Feng searched the area thoroughly but found no sign of any goods.

Moreover, every time he brought the metal detector close to the car, it would start beeping. Every time he approached the car, he had to carefully distinguish whether it was the car or the cargo that was beeping, which made Chen Feng frown.
