"Have you never been robbed?" Chen Feng asked.

"No, we're pretty cautious. We always carry gold with us, and twice, when we noticed something was wrong with the car behind us, we simply left without giving it a chance."

“I don’t care if you steal some food or drink, but some car thieves have no sportsmanship. They smash windows and take anything, even a broken screwdriver.”

“Those kinds of car thieves are the most annoying, they're really irritating,” Chen Jianguo said.

“That’s true. I always steal roosters when I steal chickens. People keep hens to lay eggs. Anyway, I’m going to stew them. Roosters and hens are the same.” Li Chunlai said with deep feeling.

Chen Feng: "..."

"So what? Should I praise you for being sensible?" Huang Fei said with a laugh.

"There's nothing I can do, that's just how I am. Even thieves have their code of honor, you wouldn't understand," Li Chunlai said, waving his hand.

The group arrived at the hot pot restaurant, and they all entered the restaurant looking disheveled.

"Let's find a private room," Chen Feng said.

"Um... there's a 5% service charge for private rooms," the waiter reminded them, looking them up and down.

"It's alright, just drive. Lead the way." Chen Feng didn't say anything more.

"Alright, everyone, let's go to room 317." The waiter nodded and led them to the private room.

"Order," Chen Feng said to them as he sat down.

Li Chunlai didn't hold back at all and started drawing on the menu.

"Take a look and see if you want anything else." He finished drawing and handed the menu down.

"You've drawn almost everything, what's the point of drawing anything else? Just serve it like this." Huang Fei simply handed the menu to the waiter.

The waitress took the menu and glanced at it, looking somewhat surprised. She wanted to ask them if they could finish the food, but hesitated and didn't dare. She then took the menu and left.

After all, these people don't look like good people in their current state, so it's best not to say anything more.

Soon the dishes started to be served. Who cares about etiquette? Several people just picked up their plates and started eating, not caring what they were. They were just eating anyway.

After the meal, the group was so full they could barely walk.

"It smells delicious. Take a break. Chunlai, you must be hungry, eat up." Huang Fei, seemingly out of kindness, picked up a piece of food for Li Chunlai.

"Get out of here, if you can't finish your food, put it in my bowl." Li Chunlai had already stopped eating.

"Isn't this because I feel sorry for you? Look at you, you're still not satisfied." Huang Fei grinned.

"Why didn't you care about me before? You ate most of that plate of beef with one chopstick," Li Chunlai said irritably.

After resting for a while, Chen Feng went out to pay the bill, and everyone returned to the car to prepare to go back to the prefab house to sleep.

"Okay, welcome back next time," the receptionist said politely.

After they left, the waiter went in to clean up the mess. Looking at the table, he couldn't help but mutter, "Where did all this come from? I haven't heard of any famine around here."

The group returned to the mine. Lying in bed that night, listening to the howling wind outside, Chen Feng felt the atmosphere was perfect and slept even better.

The next morning, the group came out to wash up and couldn't help but stretch.

Today is a beautiful day, with a gentle breeze and bright sunshine.

"If only the weather had been like this yesterday, we would have suffered so much less."

Li Chunlai said, holding a toothbrush in his hand.

"Let's eat and get to work." Chen Feng flicked his cigarette butt aside and went into the prefab house.

Chen Feng couldn't let any of those big pieces of gold go to waste; he might as well just pan for them all.

Driving to the spot from yesterday, Chen Feng got out of the car and started walking forward, since it wasn't cold today anyway.

He quickly arrived at a spot, waved back, and signaled to Chen Jianguo that he could come over.

Chen Jianguo drove the excavator forward, and the bucket dug down hard, bringing out a large bucketful of soil, which he then threw aside.

He quickly expanded the area around the pit, making it deeper and deeper.

"Done!" Chen Jianguo shouted from his head on the excavator, and Huang Fei and the others jumped down with their tools.

Li Chunlai held the detector and probed back and forth, then couldn't help but utter a sound of doubt.

"Um?"

Because he searched the entire area but couldn't find any gold.

"Go over there, let me see if it's here." Li Chunlai told Lin Nian to move aside a bit.

Even after he had swept every nook and cranny, he still couldn't find the goods.

"Something's not right. How can this be on the pit wall?" Li Chunlai picked up his instrument and scanned the pit wall.

Chen Feng stood on the mound that had been dug out, gently kicked it with his foot, and bent down to pick up the piece of gold.

"Stop digging, come up, the goods are outside," Chen Feng said to them as he brought the gold to the pit entrance.

"Oh my god, it was outside! I was searching here, no wonder I didn't see it." Li Chunlai looked at the gold in Chen Feng's hand and suddenly realized, slapping his forehead.

"Fengzi, this piece of gold isn't small either. It must be worth hundreds of thousands, right?" Huang Fei guessed as he took the gold from Chen Feng's hand.

"Alright, let's not lose it. I'll go check somewhere else." Chen Feng said and walked towards another place.

While they were still figuring out how much that piece of gold was worth, Chen Feng had already arrived at the location of the next piece of gold.

"Come here." Chen Feng beckoned to Chen Jianguo.

Chen Jianguo drove his excavator over and started digging without hesitation. When he reached the bottom, he felt he couldn't dig any further and realized what was going on.

This wasn't the first time they'd encountered this situation, so what else could be underneath besides granite?

When the group arrived at the pit entrance, they could tell what was underneath just by looking at the few marks.

"Wait here, I'll go get the impact drills." Huang Fei said as he went back to the car and retrieved the two impact drills.

He and Li Chunlai jumped into the pit first, then grabbed the impact drill and started beating him.

"Oh my god, this rock is shallow." Li Chunlai got it through after only a few tries.

"It's better to keep it shallow, rather than as difficult to dig as it is in the yard," Huang Fei said, poking his way through.

The two men worked a few more times and cracked and flipped the rock slabs open, then climbed out of the pit.

Chen Jianguo was waiting for them behind them. When he saw the two of them come out, he didn't say anything and went straight up to start digging.

In a few quick movements, Lin Nian finished digging the pit, picked up his things, and slid down first.

Lin Nian quickly located the location of the item by scanning it with the detector.

"This is it, let's start." Lin Nian kicked the spot with his foot, then took out a shovel, and the three of them squatted down.

As Huang Fei shoveled through the soil, he suddenly felt the shovel sink, as if there was something inside.

He just bent over with the shovel and plucked the thing out of the pit.

With a quick shake, something floated out of the shovel.

"Hey." Huang Fei chuckled upon seeing this; he knew without even guessing what was in the shovel.
