In this prime of youth, Qian Xi does not regret meeting Chen Wenzhi at all.
The heartless top student x the dedicated, shy little sweetheart.
In the past, it seemed he never cared about...
“I need to ask you about someone,” Ying Qian suddenly said.
Chen Wenzhi had no objection and asked, "Who?"
"Jing Yun".
Chen Wenzhi frowned. "Why do you know him?"
"He's Xu Tiantian's new boyfriend. I heard Gu Xinan mention him a couple of times before, and it seems his reputation isn't very good. I'm worried that Tiantian might be deceived."
Chen Wenzhi glanced at the eager expression on the person in his arms and said, "You really care about Xu Tiantian, but you don't seem to care about me as much."
There was a hint of jealousy in his tone.
Ying Qian was speechless at his behavior. She stared at him for two seconds, then straddled his lap and, with a little trick, increased the pressure in a certain place.
A blush instantly spread from his neck to his entire face, and he let out a soft moan.
Ying Qian cupped his face in her hands and asked, "Then how do you want me to care for you?"
Ignoring her hands, Chen Wenzhi reached out and wrapped his arms around her from behind, saying helplessly, "I just can't do anything with you... You're practically my nemesis, what am I going to do..."
"There's no other way, so just accept it." Ying Qian smiled slyly. "Please tell me about Jing Yun, please! Chen Wenzhi~ Chen Wenzhi~ You're the best!"
Seeing the expectation on her face, Chen Wenzhi could only tell her everything he knew about Jing Yun, even though he was reluctant to discuss a strange man with his girlfriend.
"Jing Yun's grades are mediocre in class. She speaks without thinking and often acts recklessly. In particular, her private life is very messy. She gets caught by the homeroom teacher every now and then for dating too early."
He became increasingly agitated as he spoke, saying, "I can't stand his behavior."
"How so?" Ying Qian blinked her big eyes.
“He would put all the blame on the girl.” Chen Wenzhi felt disgusted. “I hate him because of this behavior, so I haven’t been able to say a word to him until now.”
"Huh? Then wouldn't you be completely out of place with everyone?"
“I’m used to being alone.” Chen Wenzhi patted Ying Qian’s hair. “Besides, Ren Yi is in the same class as me, so it can’t be considered being alone.”
Ying Qian responded to his head-patting gesture and asked, "Will people distance themselves from you because of this?"
“Fool,” Chen Wenzhi said, “Being ostracized is nothing to be ashamed of, and we don’t need to be sad because of it.”
"I wish they were all far away from me, so I could have some peace and quiet."
After saying that, Ying Qian tugged at his cheek, her expression serious: "And what about me? Do you think I'm too noisy?"
"Do you want to hear the truth?" he mumbled.
Ying Qian let go of his hand and nodded seriously. Whatever the answer was, she would accept it!
“You’re different from others, you’re my girlfriend.” His cheeks flushed red. “I wish you would talk to me more, tell me about your happy or unhappy moments.”
"Really?" The girl's eyes lit up.
Chen Wenzhi nodded, brought his thin lips close to her ear, and whispered, "Absolutely true."

Riverside restaurant.
"Xiao Meng, are you not too busy with work lately?" Ying Yong asked, beaming, as he chatted with the child he had watched grow up.
Meng Beiyan was distracted by his confrontation with Ying Qian.
Ying Yong called him again, "Xiao Meng?"
After regaining his senses, Meng Beiyan said, "No rush."
The alluring woman beside him glanced at his face and finally spoke, her voice seductive and alluring, "Where is your sister?"
The question was about "your sister," and Meng Beiyan frowned, not quite understanding who she was referring to.
As soon as he finished speaking, Ying Yong's face darkened.
Meng Beiyan chose to play dumb, "It's hard... my aunt still cares about my sister. She's in S City, but her health isn't very good, so she couldn't come over."
His smile was always polite, but it never made people feel close to him. He must have felt bitter inside, having to call a woman who was only six years older than him "aunt"—it must have been a bitter pill to swallow.
The woman smiled obsequiously, not stopping because of Meng Beiyan's feigned ignorance, and continued, "Oh dear, Meng, what's wrong with you? You know I'm talking about Ying Qian, isn't she living with you? Of course she's your sister."
"She's at the hotel," Meng Beiyan replied calmly.
The woman was about to speak again, but Ying Yong, ignoring her determined look, quickly smiled apologetically and said, "I'll go pay the bill first, you two chat!"
Meng Beiyan clenched his fists, but out of pride, he still managed a smile in return, though the bulging veins on his forehead betrayed the resentment in his heart.
The woman, no longer restrained, laughed even more wildly, covering her lips with a silk scarf and exclaiming in a fuss, "At the hotel? Why don't you come over? I still want to see this daughter."
She deliberately emphasized the word "daughter".
Meng Beiyan remained calm and gave a cold laugh. "It's more appropriate for her to call you 'Auntie,' since you're not worthy of being called 'Mom' by her."
Seeing that Ying Yong was not around, he spoke frankly: "Breaking up someone else's family is not a glorious thing, and bullying a minor girl is not the behavior of an adult."
He threatened, "I've already found out everything about you before you got involved with Ying Yong. Tomorrow is your wedding day..."
He paused, looking at the woman's angry but hesitant expression, and said, "Tomorrow is your big day, you probably don't want anything to go wrong at the wedding, do you?"
Meng Beiyan stood up, his masculine aura pressing down on the woman. He said, word by word, "Since you've already said she's my sister, then you should be more polite to her."
He stepped out of his seat, turned back, and said indifferently, "You are not qualified to be her mother."
After the man left the restaurant.
