In this prime of youth, Qian Xi does not regret meeting Chen Wenzhi at all.
The heartless top student x the dedicated, shy little sweetheart.
In the past, it seemed he never cared about...
Chen Wenzhi stood in front of the office, his back ramrod straight, his arms casually crossed in front of his chest, his figure completely enveloping Ying Qian, his extremely alluring phoenix eyes staring straight into hers.
The girl's eyes were clear and bright. She met his gaze, feeling lost. A cold wind blew in from the blinds behind her, messing up her hair. A few strands of hair flew unruly in front of her eyes, blurring her vision.
His school uniform was open, revealing a thick, clean white shirt underneath, its pockets bulging and shaped like candies.
"Ying Qian, our homeroom teacher is easy to talk to, if possible..."
He paused.
Chen Wenzhi had a pleasant minty scent, faint yet unforgettable.
She has already memorized it.
"What can I do?" Ying Qian asked softly, tucking her hair behind her ear, her pure gaze falling on his lowered eyelashes.
He looked up, his Adam's apple bobbing, a slight smile playing on his lips, his tone still indifferent: "You can try to be my deskmate."
"Won't your current deskmate resent you?" Ying Qian pouted and shook her head.
She chuckled and muttered, "I wouldn't do something like that..."
"After all, I don't want to be ranked on my first day at No. 3 Middle School!" She deliberately emphasized her voice, left a cryptic smile, and pushed open the office door.
"..." He stepped forward, without explaining anything, paused slightly, and then stepped back, "I'm looking for Teacher Wang Mengyao."
The boy didn't say anything more, turned around and walked away. A strong wind was blowing in the schoolyard, but the howling wind had no effect on him; his open school uniform billowed in the wind.
Ying Qian couldn't help but step back and turn to look at him, only to find that many girls' eyes were focused on him, but none of them had the courage to say a word.
She's a bit pathetic; she actually wants to be the one to strike up a conversation.
"Enter."
Ying Qian regained her composure and pushed open the door to enter the office.
The office was empty, with only two teachers. The most eye-catching thing was a lush green money tree next to the air conditioner, and various plants on each teacher's desk.
Ying Qian is still hesitating about who should be Wang Mengyao's teacher.
At this moment, the round-faced female teacher in the corner spoke up: "Ying Qian, right? Come here."
Ying Qian was overjoyed; now she didn't need to ask. However, to maintain her image, she suppressed her laughter and walked over.
The female teacher had a standard round face, and her wheat-colored skin gave her a good complexion. When she smiled, her eyes narrowed into slits, and her brick-red lipstick was particularly vibrant. Her hair was casually clipped with a shark clip, and she looked to be quite young, around twenty-five or twenty-six years old.
"Ying Qian, you've heard of our school, right?" the female teacher asked with a friendly smile.
Ying Qian put her hands behind her back, knowing that she was about to boast about the high college entrance rate and environment of No. 3 Middle School, so she nodded in agreement.
I was already prepared to listen to her brag.
However, the female teacher clicked her tongue and unexpectedly said, "None of that matters!"
Ying Qian: "?"
"The important thing is you! Ying Qian." She made an exaggerated expression, "Your grades are amazing! No wonder you were assigned to our class."
"However..." the tone shifted.
Ying Qian's heart skipped a beat as the female teacher's voice rose and fell; she was completely led by the nose.
"How did you get in here without your school uniform?" The female teacher looked like she was racking her brains. "Are security guards this lax these days...?"
“Teacher Wang, I know how to do this problem! Your class’s science whiz brought it in through the back door!” The male teacher sitting diagonally opposite Wang Mengyao eagerly raised his hand.
Wang Mengyao quickly drank some water to calm her nerves.
"Chen Wenzhi?!" She stared incredulously at the seemingly harmless girl in front of her, then grinned from ear to ear. "How did you two meet?"
Ying Qian looked completely bewildered and didn't know how to answer.
The male teacher spoke up again, saying, "Little girl, you two must be related, right? Otherwise, I really wouldn't believe that Chen Wenzhi brought a girl through the back door."
“We’re not relatives,” she explained. “We know each other, but we’re not close.”
"Okay, okay." The female teacher waved her hand. "My name is Wang Mengyao. I teach you English. You can call me Teacher Wang or Miss Wang."
"Perfect timing, morning reading hasn't started yet. Let me arrange a seat for you... You can start attending class today!"
Ying Qian asked without hesitation, "Teacher, can I be Chen Wenzhi's deskmate?"
“Of course!” Wang Mengyao raised an eyebrow. “Girl, you’re a brave person.”
"A brave person?" she murmured softly.
Wang Mengyao replied with a message and told Ying Qian to go directly to the classroom.
Ying Qian walked out, completely bewildered, and a gust of wind made her shiver.
Class 3 is in the middle of this floor, and many people are already sitting in the classroom.
She took a few deep breaths and plunged into the unfamiliar classroom.
The moment she stepped inside, the noisy classroom immediately fell silent, and all eyes turned to her, her small face flushed with shyness.
"Hey! Beautiful lady, did you go to the wrong place?" a boy with a thick local accent asked.
Ying Qian pursed her thin lips and looked pleadingly at Chen Wenzhi, who was sitting in the last row and secretly laughing. He just raised his eyelids and pretended to be blind.
"I'm from Class 3, and I'm new here." She introduced herself mechanically. "My name is Ying Qian."
"What's your name?" a few boys below started to jeer. "Hey pretty girl, speak louder!"
"Are you going to Class 3 of the first year of high school? You're so flat-chested."
